If it had been marketed as fiction, my rating would have been higher.
But read as a fiction, this book is emotional and interesting, it's a nice story about the friendship between an elephant and his caretaker. The main thing that bothered me while reading it was the lack of chronological elements. Also, a lack of nuances in describing the bad characters (very manichean). Too much pathos at times, but I learned a lot about elephants.

Not many buildings can rival the bright lights and vibrant colors of the Strip at night, but the big top of Treatro della Notte certainly holds its own.

pickThis is the story of two orphans, Rose and Pierrot, who fall in love as children before being separated in their teens. Their lives are hard and challenging and at times cruel. They never forget about one another and at various points try to find each other. This author excels at writing about hardship and tragedy while maintaining a comedic although dark tone. I‘ve recently read two different books by this author and just want more and more!
