• My first holiday cozy and it's cozy-boring so far; exactly what I expected. Probably won't get past page 60 before I give up •

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Nightingale: read for book club completely didn't know what to expect but so so good.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Troy: Fall of Kings loved Gemmell's style and the characters were amazing.
⭐⭐⭐ Flossy Teacakes Furcoat#1 nothing special but a childhood favourite of mine so an awesome notsalgic comfort read.
⭐ The Strange Casebook- loved her other stories but whilst this wasn't bad perse I just a little lackluster

This is a book that I'm a bit hesitant to read. To be honest, it's not really my style of book- I am definitely a fantasy person, not a contemporary! But I feel like I need branch out a bit more. Do you guys stick to favourite genres or mix it up from time to time?

jrosewordsmith I've got a lot more into contemporary recently but I'm a SFF gal at heart. They do make a nice break between the heavier reads though, even if I'm still fussy as hell about them 8y
florals.fiction.fantasy @jrosewordsmith oh really? What were some of the contemporary books you have liked? 8y
jrosewordsmith Geekerella tops the list for sure! Just adorable 😍 Been Here All Along & Alterations were short & sweet but I think are both e-book only. A Quiet Kind Of Thunder & If I Was Your Girl are excellent for dealing with deeper stuff under the surface of a fairly fluffy romance. 8y
jrosewordsmith I've read this one but it didn't grab me 8y
florals.fiction.fantasy @jrosewordsmith I have added geekerella to the top of my book stack! Haha maybe that will change my mind about contemporary 🙊 8y
