Opening day for the mammoth Church Garage Sale, and I thought I had seen every book on the tables. Wrong. One more to go home with me. I have a paperback copy, but could not resist a “good as new” hardback edition! #toomanybooks 😬
I enjoyed this book far better than I thought I would when I first started! I had trouble keeping up with what was happening in the beginning but when I started the Netflix series, it straightened things out! I admit I found myself skipping pages where Anne babbles on but aside from that, I enjoyed it! #GARBingo
LOOK at this gorgeous cover! I didn‘t even know Puffin In Bloom was making these until @Courtneycc09 brought this back for me from Cracker Barrel 😂 I love love love it!
Anne Shirley is a red-haired, high spirited girl who shows up instead of the boy that Matthew and Merrill‘s Cuthbert planned to adopt to help with chores on their farm. I loved Anne‘s imagination, spirit and adventures. She would make a great friend and would be a fun playmate. Great look at life on Prince Edward Island. Classic read for young and old.

The #aprilinbooks18 prompt for the 17th is "characters who love books". How could I go past my childhood kindred spirit, Anne?

Book Five Completed - Anne of Green Gables audible edition
Just over two hours left!
I loved Rachel McAdams narration of one of my favorite classics. I last read this book in sixth grade, and I am happy to say that it was as lovely now as it was then. #childrensclassics #audible
#November 13 #Book + #Quote - "Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it" #LMMontgomery #AnneofGreenGables - the first copy of Anne I ever received & started my obsession. #AngieBookishNovember #bookchallenge #bookstagram #AOGG #LucyMaudMontgomery #canlit #CanadianLiterature #CanadianAuthor #booklove #tattoo
I can't believe I waited so long to read this lovely book. I cried my way through the last 2 chapters, but I absolutely adore Anne and this story. So much love!
I wanted to love this book... Really I did. The problem was I hated Anne in the beginning. I didn't fully enjoy her until almost 160 pages in. I normally give up after 100 pages, but because this is a classic I had to troop through. I'm glad I did because towards the end the book finally was enjoyable. I think the first half deserves ⭐️⭐️ and the last half deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. On average though, to me, Anne of Green Gables was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ novel...
I adore this book so far! Thinking I may start reading ahead on Serial... It's just too enjoyable to read in little pieces.
Fun Friday Photo: Happy Canada Day!
When I was younger, I was introduced to a little girl named Anne. The book was HUGE to me (filled with books 1-3) and I felt like a rockstar when I finished. And I loved the stories. That's why Lucy Maud Montgomery is my Favorite Canadian Writer.
Today I thought I'd do a shout out to one of my favorite literary father figures - Matthew Cuthbert from "Anne of Green Gables" by L. M. Montgomery.
In the book Matthew is a shy, kind character and my heart melted at the sweet relationship Anne and Matthew shared throughout the book.
