I joined a book club at work and I‘m realizing how infrequently I read adult literary fiction. So many big words lol. If you like memoir, family drama, mix with lots of shorter life stories woven together you‘ll like this. #bookclub

My time as a student is coming to a close, I‘ll be graduating with my MLIS and graduate certificate in archives in December. I didn‘t stop between my grad and undergrad so it‘s been a long time since I haven‘t had homework. I want to work in an archives but I‘m open to all opportunities in libraries, archives, museums, nonprofits etc. any advice for emerging professionals? Any books that helped you in a job search? #jobhunt #libraries #archives

What a great audiobook! The narrator had great inflection and presence for each character and no two sounded alike. A good gothic vibed mystery that wasn‘t predictable.

5. None trying to tackle my books I own and using Hoopla with no wait time
6. One I‘m hoping will just magically be available is Angie Thomas‘s On the Come Up

Some days working at a public library is thankless but then one little thing happens that just warms my cold heart lol . I helped a little girl and her mom find a book today with little to go on, after a few minutes I turned my computer screen “does this look like the book?” Her face lit up and as I looked up the call number her mom said “she‘s a librarian and used her magic to find your book”.

LiteraryinPA What a wonderful story! She‘s so lucky you were there! 6y

Feeling inspired by my newest read. A.J Jacobs commits to life experiments in his books and is trying to be the healthiest man alive. Going system by system he tries to follow all the conflicting advice about health. He‘s a humor writer and that‘s what I enjoy about it. I loved his book “The Year of Living Biblically” and have read it multiple times. #breakfast #funnybooks #health

This February I‘m dedicating all my reading to black authors! Please leave any books that I can‘t miss. I love most all genres, nothing is off limits. #readingrecs #blackhistorymonth #blackauthors

StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I did that last year, read some great books! I suggest the Fifth Season by NK Jemisin (scifi/fantasy). And The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill (hisfic). These were two of the best books I read all last year. 6y
ManyWordsLater Any James Baldwin. I read Giovanni‘s room last February. 💗💓💕 An American Marriage (Tagged) was pretty life changing too. 6y

So the world is rocked by an epidemic called the Georgia Flu in the aftermath a traveling band of musicians and actors travel the apocalyptic country to perform but it‘s sooo much more than that. It‘s so wonderfully complex and characters are connected in ways that were delightful to discover. Loved it so much #apocalypticfiction #litsyatoz #theletterM
