My April reading wrap up video is now available to watch on YouTube. The link is: https//youtu.be/HYh1wxqNm4E
I just posted my May TBR over on YouTube. Check it out on my channel: Laura ByTheBook. Sneak peak: the tagged book is one of the titles.
So my #booktube channel is now live and a video posted! If you‘re curious, go to YouTube and search for Laura ByTheBook. (The name of the video is Booktuber Newbie Tag.)
Ok, can somebody who uses the Libby app tell me why I seem incapable of suspending the hold on an audiobook I requested??? You‘re supposed to be able to suspend a hold, but this is the 2nd time i thought something was suspended but it was checked out to me anyway. I currently have 2 audiobooks and 2 ebooks all checked out to me and I don‘t have time for them all! Argh! Help!
So my husband said he wanted to run into the library on our way home from work today. Who am I to say no? 😜 I picked up these 4 titles, all from my Goodreads TBR. #libraryhaul
So I wanted to let people know that I used to post as KnitNRead but I changed my “name”. I changed to LauraBytheBook on all social media because I‘ve decided to start my own #booktube channel. I‘m still in the planning stage, but I‘ll post here and let you know when it goes up. I‘d love to have you join me!
Since the weather finally seems to be warming up, I‘ve decided to start taking 30 minute walks on my lunch break each day. Plus all this #audiowalking should help me finish more audiobooks like the awesome one I‘m reading now (tagged). so I guess I‘m a #Litsywalkers newbie!
Taking a break from my afternoon housecleaning for a little reading on this ebook. This is my first Kate Morton. I‘m about half-way through and enjoying it so far.
Finished this audiobook today. Oh man was this great! This has been a great week for audiobooks for me. This is a story of a girl who grows up in the marshes of North Carolina. The storytelling in this is just amazing. I‘m not going to say more so no spoilers, but I highly recommend it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow! I just finished this audiobook. It was amazing. I couldn‘t stop listening to it. The author did an amazing job of making you feel like this was non-fiction and Evelyn Hugo a real person. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I finished this one this morning. I absolutely love Monk Kidd‘s use of metaphor to find meaning. I gave this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Saturday afternoon #audioknitting on the socks I‘m making for my husband while listening to the tagged book.
1. Spending weekends at my grandparents‘ lake cabin.
2. Yes, one brother, one sister
3. When it first started (3 years ago?)
4. My lunchtime read.
5. I‘m virtually tagging everyone 😉

This book was on my 2019 TBR goals and I finished it today. It was very thought provoking. I kind of feel like I want to reread it sometime in case I missed any of the nuggets of wisdom. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I just started this audiobook today and Wow! Right out of the gate I don‘t want to stop listening.
Barbara Kingsolver
Alice Hoffman
Diana Gabaldon
Louise Penny
Martha Grimes
This showed me how my tastes have changed over the years. Very interesting.
Reading by the fire on this chilly morning. This is the sequel to Pillars of the Earth which I read years ago. Just now getting around to this one and I am loving it so far. I must be a slow reader though because it is taking me forever to get through this 1,000 page book.
Having some mid-week afternoon time to read at Starbucks is a rare treat. 😍☕️📚

1. I don‘t care for either YA or fantasy (HP is the only exception.)
2. Salty. Potato chips are my downfall.
3. Ezra and Verl, Jim and Louise
4. Grease (is the word, is the word...🎵)
5. NYC
My February TBR (not pictured: The Alchemist [ebook] and The Book of Essie [audio]. I normally squeeze in 3-4 books a month (I don‘t know how some of you do 20 or more). Booktube and Litsy have made me ambitious. 🤞🏻
I liked this book okay, but I found myself frustrated by some of the author‘s decisions. There are things that happened that I thought shouldn‘t and things I thought should happen that didn‘t. Primarily I was unhappy with the resolution (if you can call it that).
We have a wind chill temp of -26F this morning, all the area schools are closed and our companies suggested we work from home or take PTO today. I am not able to do my work from home so I‘m spending my day off finishing some books!
I was disappointed in the previous book in the series, but I loved this one. The last chapter had me at turns laughing and crying. Ah... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In honor of the Outlander season finale tonight, we‘re having Scottish Cottage Pie for dinner.
1. The tagged ebook, My Year of Rest and Relaxation on audiobook, Echo in the Bone (Outlander #7), and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer‘s Stone reread for #hpbuddyread.
2. I haven‘t officially taken a quiz, but probably Ravenclaw.
3. The Good Place

I finally ordered a cover for my kindle and it came today. I just love this pretty rose gold! 😍
1. Tagged. I tried it 3 times and always DNF‘ed it.
2. Pack it during the week and then my husband and I go out to lunch every Friday.
3. Probably saying something stupid...too many to pick one.
4. Freshly ground coffee or basil plants in the July sunshine.
5. Black Echo

First time I read this I DNF‘ed it. Then I tried again and finished it. Nope. Just got frustrated with it and didn‘t understand all the hype.
I finished this audiobook yesterday while painting my craft room. This is the 13th book in the series and I‘ve read them all except for # 14 (the ebook of which came through on my library holds yesterday). I love the Inspector Gamache series and wish I could live in Three Pines, but I felt the one rambled on a bit too much and dragged a bit. Also I didn‘t get enough of the Three Pines good feels in this one.
I‘m spending my 3-day weekend painting the room that will become my sewing / craft room. This is a great opportunity to finish the 5 hours left on my audiobook of the tagged title!
1. Contemporary or Historical Fiction
2. Sudden catastrophic illness
3. Pediatrician
4. 35F
5. Hey there! ✋🏻

I‘m bingeing Glass Houses on audiobook trying to finish before my library ebook hold of Kingdom of the Blind comes in (which should be any day now). Also still working my way through An Echo in the Bone (Outlander book 7).
I‘m so excited!! I‘ve been waiting at least a year for a day when I could read in bed and watch the snowfall. Today is that day! Plans for later: read by the fire. 👏🏼👏🏼📚
1. Teleport.
2. Just finished this on Wednesday.
3. Nope. Not this year.
4. I binge-watched the entire first season of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo when I was home sick the other day.
5. Will do! 👍🏻
#friyayintro @howjessreads
1. The suburbs of Indianapolis, IN.
2. John Boyne (he‘s awesome!)
3. Goodreads says 249 but it keeps growing!
4. In the winter: in bed under the covers or in the recliner by the fire. In summer: my back patio under the umbrella.
5. The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang. I‘m currently devouring it. 😉

Since I‘m home sick today I decided to finally take the time to make my top 10 list for 2018. What were your favorite reads of 2018?
Still not feeling great, I read 50 pages of this on my kindle this morning. This and the first Harry Potter books are the first two books on my January TBR. I‘ve read 28% of HP and 21% of Echo. Not bad for Jan. 6.
I have been struck with the worst cold I‘ve had in years and I feel awful. So I‘m just going to stay here in bed and read about Hagrid. Pass me the tissues and Dayquil. #hpbuddyread
1. Read 4 classics, read 4 ebooks already on my kindle, read 4 books over 500 pages, and reread all 7 Harry Potter books for #hpbuddyread.
2. NYE we do lots of finger foods; NY day corned beef and cabbage.
3. Wonder Woman! 💪🏼
4. January
5. HBD my fellow January birthdays! ✋🏻
Some #booktubers I follow are doing Nonfiction November so this week when I went to the library I decided to get some nonfiction for a change. These 3 books practically jumped into my hands. 😉 👏🏼👏🏼
One of my favorite moments of every week: Saturday morning in bed with a mug of coffee and a captivating novel. 📚☕️😊
This book is making me really uncomfortable. It‘s terrifying in its similarity to the way things seem to be going in reality. I feel myself physically tensing up just reading it. 😬
OMG! I just finished this book with tears streaming down my face. This has to be my favorite read of 2018. Cyril Avery‘s story is both touching and heartbreaking and I am so going to miss him now that I‘m finished with the book. Author John Boyne has a fantastic way with words that swept me into the story and had me at times laughing and crying. I absolutely loved all 580 pages of this book! ❤️
Sunday morning reading. I‘m about 1/3 in and OMG I‘m loving this book! It‘s rare that a book makes me literally laugh out loud, but Boyne‘s use of language makes it feel like I‘m right there with these people! ❤️👍🏻
Saturday = library day 📚 I love the library new books shelf. 😁
Bookcases are built and ready to be filled!
Today‘s project? Building the two ready-to-assemble 5-shelf bookcases I bought for my bedroom. I‘m so excited! 👏🏼🎉🙌🏻 (Tagged book is on my TBR and seemed appropriate. 😉)
