If you have not read Katherine I could not recommend it more highly.
pickThis was a fascinating story. I had heard of Katherine of Swynford before this, but it was interesting to find out more about her life.
pickKATHERINE a epic tale and a hauntingly-beautiful love story. Anya Seton as many other good books, but make no mistake this is her masterpiece. Katherine is the kind of novel that sucks you right in to its time and place. The author showing a deep understanding of medieval English history. Colourful wording, descriptive tracing of the events of the life of Katherine Swynford. After 66 years it is still a best loved classic of historical literature.
so-soRediscovered this book in one of my unpacked boxes (building extra bookshelves for all your books takes a while 🙈). I read it more than ten years ago. It was not as good as I remembered, but still a pleasant read.

Seton‘s Katherine is epic historical fiction, set in the 14th century, a love story between Katherine Swynford & John of Gaunt. I‘m remembering castles!
The Time of the Goats is set in 1940s Skopje, Yugoslavia now North Macedonia, where the Kale (Fortress) is a presence across the town. And ends up as a home for a fair number of goats.

Katherine just has to make my top 24 list. This is a truly great historical fiction read - romance, action, adventure, intrigue, history - everything is thrown into it! Not read it? I strongly recommend this and most of the people that I know that love historical fiction love this. @Melissa_J It is set in 14th Century England, and has links to John of Gaunt. A truly great book and story!
Historical Fiction is my favourite genre. It allows me to step into others' shoes -- a Queen, a princess, or a medieval knight -- and to reflect on choices and dilemmas I would thankfully never have to face in real life. It allows me to "practice" outside the boundaries of my normal, safe, haven.

In my top three favorite books of all time.
Adult historical fiction. Love story with everything that could happen in the medieval world all mixed together. War, passion, plague, revolts. The historical figures in this story set the stage for some of the biggest events in British history as well as the royal lineage.
So many choices, but in the end gone for one of my favourite all time historical fiction books with #ANameInTheTitle , in fact with this one the name is the title. If you haven‘t read it you just have to read this book! #ReadingWomenMonth
Read this more times than I can remember. This copy was published in 1961. Was inspired by @TrishB to dig it out again.
