Pop Goes the Weasel
Pop Goes the Weasel: DI Helen Grace 2 | M. J. Arlidge
Starring returning heroine Detective Inspector Helen Grace Pop Goes the Weasel is the latest heart-stopping thriller from M.J. Arlidge, author of Richard &Judy Book Club pick Eeny Meeny. 'This is going to be as big as Jo Nesbo' Judy Finnigan 'Detective Inspector Helen Grace is one of the greatest heroes to come along in years.' Jeffery Deaver, New York Times bestselling author of The Skin Collector and Solitude Creek ***** A man's body is found in an empty house. His heart has been cut out and delivered to his wife and children. He is the first victim, and Detective Inspector Helen Grace knows he will not be the last. But why would a happily married man be this far from home in the dead of night? The media call it Jack the Ripper in reverse: a serial killer preying on family men who lead hidden double lives. Helen can sense the fury behind the murders. But what she cannot possibly predict is how volatile this killer is - or what is waiting for her at the end of the chase... ***** 'M. J. This is the second book in the Detective Helen Grace series and I love this series! It‘s been awhile since I read the first one but I definitely plan on reading the rest of the series ASAP! This is definitely one of my favorite series!

Suzze Why did I think that was the first in the series? I must have read them out of order. Just checked. I‘m wrong. I read the first one and read this one immediately after. (edited) 3y
NikkiKey94 @Suzze I‘m glad you didn‘t read them out of order. I hate when that happens to me! I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did! 3y
TrishB New one out this week, can‘t wait 👍🏻 3y

LoverOfLearning I have the first 4 books on my shelf..... but i DNFd book 3 and have been unable to pick it back up. Idk the storylines and the types of criminals arnt realstic to me. So I'm not sure I'll ever finish it. But I'm so glad you like them!!! 3y
NikkiKey94 @LoverOfLearning there‘s nothing wrong with that! We all have different tastes in books! I‘ve found several hyped up books that I just did not like! 3y
MyNamesParadise I think I have the first six in this series and never read them but heard great things! I‘m not sure how many books there are in the series! 2y

This is turning into a really good police procedural series which has everything you'd expect in terms of fast pace, grim crime scenes and a shocking reveal.

I flew through this in just a few days. Although its part of a series it could be read as a standalone.

Four stars.

I loved this ❤ Second book in the Helen Grace series and it was a great read, very graphic at points so not for the faint hearted but I think they're great books.

#24B4Mondaygiveaway #24B4Monday #readathon #PopJarGame I picked 12 books on my TBR that I've been dying to read and haven't gotten around to. Some are print books, most are books backing up in my Kindle that were on sale at one point. May the best books win! I can't wait! 📚

Read for a challenge; didn‘t care for the main character enough to continue with any of the other books in the series.

This second book sees DI Helen Grace investigating gruesome murders similar to the Jack the Ripper killings, only this time a prostitute is killing men who lead double lives.

Although an engrossing read, the male characters are all portrayed as either weak, violent, abusive, sexual predators, or selfish. It was depressing after a while. Also Grace continues to act unprofessionally at times.

I loved being back in the world of DI Helen Grace in the second of this series. I love the style of writing! Easy to read, gripping, well told stories that keep me intrigued throughout! I‘d say this series is definitely best read in order though to avoid spoilers.

Another addictive read from M.J.Arlidge. This book was really hard to put down. A fast paced plot that sucks you into the characters. It has a clever twist at the end which I wasn't expected. Defiantly worth a read if you enjoy psychological thrillers, lots of action, twists and detail.
