I feel like I read somewhere this comic was coming back after a long hiatus. Reread the first yesterday and this one today!!

Second volume still packed with masterful social commentary and feminist messaging in amongst fast-paced machinations and action, still capable of making me incredibly tense...in a good way!?

I was so surprised by where this volume went! It was really exciting! Looking forward to the next one!

Really appreciated their introduction of transwomen and that they consulted with and adjusted their work to reflect feedback from several transwomen they named in the Q&A.

This volume begins with a trigger warning for images relating to sexual assault, and the 2008 DOJ survey statistic that 1 in 16 female prisoners reported being sexually assaulted while incarcerated. I‘m not generally one to condone violence, but every backstory I get in this series where an assailant or intended assailant is maimed or killed, I feel fiercely that the closest thing to justice possible has been served. #metoo #believevictims

Might need to see if Bull Moose has the next volume in stock... I‘m feeling mighty non-compliant these days.

The more I read if bitch planet the more it seems like a perfect partner to the handmaids tale. Amazing but shocking.

Another good volume in this series, a revolution starts! I really enjoy how dark this series is, and I really enjoy the coloring.

Love this comic so much. It's gorgeous and just so good. And the exploitation movie poster style art is amazing.

My mother saw me reading this and asked why I'd read anything that would make me mad ... Well Ma it's because this isn't a book that revels masturbatorily in the degradation of women. This is a series of women fighting a system of oppression. And it doesn't focus on one type of woman this has some great intersectionality. #Libraryhaul - I‘m so proud of myself! Next wkend (Jan 27-28) is the #24in48 readathon and I‘ve actually planned some light fun options. This is my third participation: the first I heard about it right before and had no plan; the second time I tried to plan but my library holds didn‘t come in; now third time is the charm! It should be a blast even if I still don‘t hit the 24 hr mark 📚

This is one of my favorite parts of the BP books- the "ads" and lists of articles at the end.

BP is such a raw, empowering experience. I love it so much.

Must-read for fans of Bitch Planet! This arc adds transgender women to the revolution and adds depth to characters and the story.

Another entry into a world that feels far closer to reality than is comfortable. Seeing the ways that threads of now are being picked up to show how they could be used in the future is disturbing but no less realistic. It is an uncomfortable read because we see how easily this can come to pass. If you are looking to stoke some feminist rage, look no further.
