“We‘re gonna be the best babysitters ever.”
For this book, I would use it to encourage students to get creative, explore businesses, and become entrepreneurs.
I read at lot of these books as a child so it was cool to see them as graphic novels. I loved the storyline and the illustrations.

"The Baby-sitters Club: Kristy‘s Great Idea" can be used in the classroom to spark discussions about entrepreneurship and teamwork among students. Teachers can also encourage creative activities, such as having students plan their own clubs or develop character profiles based on the story.
This book is a charming graphic novel that introduces readers to Kristy Thomas and her plan to start a babysitting club with her friends. The vibrant illustrations and relatable characters make it easy for kids to connect with the story. Themes of friendship, teamwork, and responsibility shine throughout, providing both fun and valuable lessons. It‘s a wonderful read that encourages young readers to explore their creativity and take initiative!
I never read many of the Karen books so I don‘t remember her having a #Turkey but I was obsessed with the original series in grade school and read almost nothing else for a whole year. I must have owned dozens of them! #NovemberNarrative @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Watching season 2 today. I absolutely loved these books as a kid and am loving sharing this show with my kids:) #babysittersclub #BSC #familyofreaders
in which we learn more about Stacey's backstory and wonder why the mother of a newborn would hire an 8th grader (and then a 7th grader) to take care of the baby
(I enjoy these graphic novels very much and feel good about my decision to focus on them rather than the og novels.)
(quarantine book #113; read a book featuring a character with a chronic illness)
Going back and re-Reading these, I realise how well put together this series was and how it balanced fun reading with important life messages for kids. And the art is A+ too.
I just can‘t help myself.
Trip down memory lane. Enjoying revisiting these books graphically.
Is I wrong to be ridiculously excited for this? https://youtu.be/6G9BoFUqMrs
“One last shooting star. It marked,I decided, not an end, but the beginning of whatever was to come
This book really surprised me, because I was not expecting the books story
I really enjoyed this one. There were a number of great messages for young people, especially girls. This book focuses mainly on Stacey, her struggles with Diabetes and her desire to have more say on the decisions that are made about her body. Can‘t wait to read book #3.
I came outside to see my daughter is on a similar wavelength today ❤️🕶
#SpringIntoReading Day 20: These graphic novel adaptations of Baby Sitters Club #RemindMe distinctly of my Sweet Valley High days. It also reminded me of a time when young people are not that overburdened with so many out-of-school activities or too preoccupied with schoolwork, such that they have spaces of time that would allow them to have projects such as these. Life is so different now, clearly. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-jWs
My almost 10 yo daughter loves these! It makes me so happy bc I LOVED them when I was growing up. They are great in graphic novel format.
Second graphic novel volume. I took both out of the library at the same time. It was a cute adventure.
Thank you to @thebluestocking for today‘s #bookmail!! BSC were my absolute favorite books when I was younger and I‘m so excited to add them to my girls‘ library. We‘ll see if they‘ve stood the test of time or if my kids find them totally dated and hokey. 😆
Got my book order for the month today and am geeking out... I am soooo buying this!! 🤓🤓🤓
Another great novel in GN form that brought back many great childhood memories 💕
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Before I return this book to the library - I‘d just like to point out that from my experience - there‘s nothing more fierce than a mad tween girl wearing an animal ear beanie.
These Babysitter Club graphic novels that are illustrated by Raina Telgemeier are delightful. These would be a great walk down memory lane if you grew up reading BSC. They‘re also just a fun and sweet palate cleanser. If you have middle grade readers who love Smile and Drama - put these in their hands.
I‘m loving these books all over again 😂
4⭐️ I really like how Raina has updated these stories. The graphic novel format makes them quick and fun to read. This edition looks at Stacy and her struggles with her diabetes. Doctors visits, treatments, food, etc. Plus the BSC gets a little competition from the Baby Sitters Agency, but only one group can come out on top. Plus now is the perfect reading time as this one takes place over the holidays.
On All Saints Day, which I celebrate for the half-priced candy, I read a book checked out on the week of the 21st anniversary of my #type1 diagnosis. While I cringed at the authoritarian nature of Stacey's dad ("Your mother and I make the decisions" re: Stacey's medical care ?) and her complete candy avoidance, I appreciated the otherwise accurate portrayal of a young diabetic.
Good use of illustrations, suspenseful BSC plot. Held up as adult.
I flew through the first one in this series last night. I loved all the BSC books when I was little and these adaptations are fabulous!
Whoops, I mixed up volumes 2 and 3 which I read at the same time. This book provides more backstory with Stacey's diagnosis and treatment and also has more new friend drama and babysitting problem solving. A solid followup to the first graphic novel. #mommyreads #graphicnovel #adaptation #ebook
Even better than the first! This book covers Stacey's medical appointments and her parents gradual acceptance that diabetes is forever and not the end of the world. It heralds the arrival of the kid-kit and the rise and fall of the Baby Sitters Agency.
Working the book fair this week. The babysitters club has been turned into a graphic novel. I think my child needs this.
Taking a small study break. Nostalgic read! Loving it!
Yesterday my kids had fencing practice which meant a few minutes to read the second Baby-Sitters Club Graphic Novel, which I stole from their library basket. #noshame
So awesome! Features a mean rival babysitting club + Stacey's diabetes (not a spoiler!) including some backstory + what it is/how she manages it. Also featured: KID-KITS! I wanted one of these so badly when I was a kid 🙋🏻
This graphic series is great ⭐️ BSC Forever!
