What a fun read! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the adventure and I loved the characters so much! This was just what I needed right now. And the #audiobook was really good too!🪐🚀

October was a pretty averages month. Nothing especially stood out as a favorite although Wizard of Earthsea was clearly the most well written but Disasters I had the most fun with.
All physical books so no e or audiobooks this month. However, the majority of these were library lends because I only own Wizard of Earthsea.
#OctoberWrapUp
This was cute and felt like a found family origin story. I had a good time reading this and learning about the main crew but this wasn‘t too deep so there was no real meaningful growth in the characters.
#BookReport
Finished the first book in my library stack and managed to get 50% into the tagged. Enjoyed my time with both books so good reading week.
#WeeklyForecast
Goal is to finish the tagged and possibly the first book of Earthsea.
Wasn‘t feeling this one ATM.. Sci-fi is hit or miss with me - even though I was raised on Star Trek😂
I‘ll circle back one day.
Best sci-fi thriller/horror?
Thanks to @GingerAntics ‘s review I borrowed this ebook from Libby this morning. A fun YA space adventure- 4 misfits in the wrong place at the wrong time have to save their butts and maybe everyone else‘s. Loved the diverse characters , a great book to read during Pride Month 🌈 . A stand-alone but it could easily be a series- fingers crossed 🤞
I finished this yesterday morning but completely forgot to post my review. Clearly I am losing my mind. I quite enjoyed this book. It was a quick listen, but the adventure and intrigue held attention from beginning to end. This is a great choice for anyone who enjoys science fiction space travel.

Another YA I‘ve heard good things about. Fingers crossed.

AND a book cart in my favorite color? I think this one‘s a keeper, haha.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! And Happy New Book Day to those that don‘t!
Quick, fun stand-alone sci-if Young Adult read. The crew really was a disaster but in the best of ways.
Nax and three other recent washouts at the Ellis Station Academy are preparing to return planet side when suddenly the academy is attacked and they witness the crime of a lifetime and become the scapegoat for it. They have to stay alive and figure out why and what is coming next.
I‘ll admit I wasn‘t sure what was going on for about the first half of the book but something kept me reading. The last quarter was quite thrilling.
This was a fun, quick read. I enjoyed the diverse cast of characters. I wouldn‘t say that this book offered anything original, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
My rec can be read at https://wowlit.org/blog/2019/12/01/wow-recommends-the-disasters/. Short version, I liked it and wanted to hear more from the other characters. Also, readers must check out the playlist the author created for the book.

Recently my car has been in the shop a thousand times for everything from routine maintenance to a new transmission. This is one of the books I listened to on the 45 min walk to work in the 100 degree heat.
#1 The was a really easy, fast and enjoyable read. I thought it had great pacing and I was not bored even once throughout this book. The characters were great, and I really enjoyed the plot as well… who doesn‘t love teenagers in space? That being said I LOVED how diverse this cast of characters was! We had different races, sexuality, languages and religions, I absolutely loving reading books that have diverse characters.
I really like this version of the future. This is a fun, peppy space read that gets right into the action. The diverse, quirky characters are the best part of the book. Now I want my own ship!
Day 1 of #24B4Monday #readathon completed 1 cute sci fi YA book. @TheReadingMermaid @Andrew65 @jb72
That was fun! Quick and easy read. Everyone was really likable. Loved the diversity - even if it felt a tiny bit forced to have every representation, it was really fun nonetheless and I would definitely be on board to find and destroy Jace in a sequel.
Also geeked out hard on the Firefly references, please return to Serenity in the next book! Pleaseeee!
i really wanted to like this book. It was my first fantasy and space novel i‘ve read and i thought it‘d help dip my toes into the genre. Unfortunately I‘m not a big fan of M.K England‘s writing style, it feels a tad juvenile and the characters have no development throughout the story and lack a backstory which confuses their sexuality for the readers.
Four Space Cadet rejects team up with a rebel to save the galaxy! Fun, fast paced and good LGBTQ representation.

Relaxing morning in bed with this book for the second day of #24in48
Came across this title on an Aurora Rising thread between @Branwen and @LibrarianRyan and it doesn‘t disappoint! Loving it so far and another great #audiobook narration.
A rollicking adventure. At first it was hard, despite its action-packed beginning - or perhaps because of it. Diving in mid-action means characterization & relationship-building takes a back seat for a while, so I found myself not caring as much as I wanted. Eventually though, I had a lot of fun w/the Swift Kick's crew. There were some silly bits and foolish bad guys, but overall, it's a likable space romp, & that's right up my alley.
This was what I thought would be the easiest section. Apparently no.

This book started off pretty slow for me. I just couldn't get into it right off the bat, even though it starts off with some pretty serious action. I felt like it took too long to really get to know the characters, and also maybe took too long to feel like there was going to be any hope of them resolving the problem they are up against. Once I got to know the characters, I did love them. And I really enjoyed the world created by the author. ⬇️
Happy Pride Month! If you‘re looking to support an LGBTQ author and/or read a book with LGBTQ characters, this book has both and was super funny!
After a stellar first third to the year, I suddenly hit a slump. I was so excited to read my May TBR, and couldn't get into anything, really. Here's hoping June will be better!
You guys: I didn't get it! I started googling what a "Griffin door" might be, and then a meme popped up! Which is when you know you're having a dumb moment... ???
What a delightful story! It was a fun ride all the way through with quite the diverse cast, and the audiobook narrator was great!
Diversity of the characters: amazing
Everything else about the book: not so much
Sci-fi references delight me! (Even if I've never watched Babylon.) Also, looks like I picked the right bookmark for this.
The characters in this book have been accused of a number of #violations and I'm not even 100 pages into it!

Road trip audiobooking!
I enjoyed this book. I loved the very diverse cast of characters and the unique take on the future. It was also a fun fast paced adventure.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
He‘s sleeping so peacefully that I‘d hate to disturb him, so I guess that‘s a good enough excuse to stay up a little later to read.
Look, to be honest, I wanted to like this book so much more than I actually did. I always hate it when that happens, thus this is the first book (and hopefully last) that I didn‘t finish
#mkengland #thedisasters
I do love a good space adventure!! 🚀🌠
The fun cast of characters was refreshingly diverse and I demand a movie adaptation! 😁
5 🌟 to this SciFi gem

Sidenote- I've been reading on the Kindle app on my phone a lot because I discovered the scrolling feature (instead of turning pages), it makes me feel like I'm reading super fast! lol
I‘ve got the day off from work and my book peeramid is loaded with post-its and my note-taking pencil. I‘m settled in for a morning of reading and resting. 🦄
🌟🌟🌟
This one took me forever to finish. I think given a different frame of mind I might have enjoyed it more, but I've been dealing with a chronic illness flare up that has left me wallowing with no motivation. I read over 30 books in January and February, and have only finished one in the past 3 weeks. I hate slumps like that. I'm going to try to start something new today that will hopefully pull me out.

"something about griffin doors and wizards."
Whatever could it be? ?
Sci-Fi/Fantasy books generally aren't my jam, but this YA book actually surprised me.
There's a little bit of Nax Hall in all of us... A dreamer seeking redemption. This book chronicles his journey in doing so among his fellow "Rejects" as they try navigate through space to save the Galaxy from impending doom by three days' time. The characters are fun, relatable, and diverse.
All in all, I'd give this book a 3.5/4?
I know the cover advises to grab a helmet, but if I‘m going into space, then I want a lightsaber (it‘s not clumsy or random). Been wanting to read this one for a while, and it was on a display at my local B&N when I attended an event they had for teachers yesterday on incorporating YA into classes (I wasn‘t invited or anything; I was just hoping to go and learn something useful even though I‘m not a teacher). #youngadult #scifi #MKEngland
