I was expecting the bird to have more of a presence in the story. The title is just alluding to the fact that, unlike Parrots,Toucans can't talk. The story was cute but I am not a fan of the MC who just seemed to a busy body. 3.5 ⭐

I was torn about getting a kindle, but now that I have one I really appreciate being able to read in a dark car when waiting for my kids.

The cover art and title had me totally underestimate this, but I really enjoyed reading this. It had the warmth of a cozy without any formulaic writing. I‘m really glad it was one of the #TeamSlaughter team reads to put it on my radar, and my #bookspin book to encourage me to choose it first. Can‘t wait to see if the next mystery from this series feels as fresh.

I really didn‘t enjoy this book. It wasn‘t very deep. But that made it easy to read quickly especially my large print edition :) It just didn‘t draw me into the story. But good news is I got my first book done for #TeamSlaughter and it‘s the #BuddyRead & a place on my bingo card so there‘s that.

This story didn't do anything for me. The cover is what I liked the most about it. 🌴 I kept thinking I would get into the story at some point but I did not. Better luck next time !

Okay. I love cozy mysteries. That‘s my genre. I even love things like Murder, She Wrote, so don‘t get me wrong. I can get down with middle-aged, well-mannered sleuths with no real reason to be trusted by the police.

As such, I kept thinking I would get into this book. But, no. This book is as stimulating as a jar of mayonnaise, as entertaining as a single elderly fish in an otherwise empty tank.
Sorry to be such a downer, but I do not recommend.

There were many characters involved in this story, they were quite quirky & entertaining. The mystery itself was interesting but for me it was not very exciting. It didn‘t have that draw that would keep me on the edge of my seat. I think it was because there was a lot of interaction going on with the residents of the town & the parishioners and that took away from the focus of sleuthing.
