I found this to be such a moving read! It‘s a time travel A la The Outlander with romance and intrigue. Set in Ireland I found myself swept up with the story right from the start. Add beautiful writing and well drawn characters and it was a βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈπ« read for me.
You can have Ireland history, time traveling and romantic loving story in this book. But I‘m not a fan of time traveling and romantic loving storyβ¦..so β¦β¦ but if you are, this may be a right one to you!!
Reminded me of βOutlanderβ the way it started in present day and went back to 1921 In Ireland. Good historical information on Irelands wish to be free from Englands ruling and the dissent it caused among the people of Ireland. We‘ll written and certainly a page turner.
Opened my #litsylovevalentinesdayswap package today! Thank you @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks for the thoughtful gift!π₯° I can‘t wait to try all the different goodies! Happy Valentine‘s Day everyone!

21 #72 This book. I didn‘t want to like it because I hate time travel stuff. It‘s too deep for me, typically. My mind can‘t wrap itself around it. But I loved this book. It was well written. I learned a lot about Irish history. Likable characters. And I was smiling at the end. Winner!
One of my favorites, there wasn't a part of this book I didn't like, it so beautifully has woven history with a gripping tale that pulls you in #timetravel #irish
ππ€An Amazon prime free read and oh my gosh, it was soooo good. I'll definitely read it again. Travel, love, history, it hits the trifecta. Fair warning your heart will get involved on this one. Reminded me of a movie I love called The Two Worlds of Jennie Logan with Lindsay Wagner. β£β£
I‘ve had this book on my kindle since before it released and finally got to it... what a gem.
Absolutely perfect historical fiction with time travel, a touch of magic and mystery, beautiful love stories, and lovely Ireland.
This book isn‘t really like Outlander at all, but it certainly helped quench my Outlander-thirst. π
I‘m going looking for more from this author... this book is fantastic!

The tagged book was my favorite stand alone novel of the year.
I‘ll tag my other noteworthy reads in the comments.
This is a five star read no matter. The timing made this more emotional for me though as I witnessed two family members lose their great loves this week.
Book 109 Anne's grandfather, by whom she was raised, dies, and she takes his ashes to Ireland, where she learns about her roots (in a very fantastical, The Time Traveler's Wife way). Chapters alternate between Anne's story and the history of Ireland's revolution (elucidated via fictional journal entries). While a refreshing setting for a historical fiction, the journal chapters were dull. Still, the relationships are compelling.
#BuzzwordBookathon Book 6 βοΈ
When Anne travels to Ireland to spread her grandfather‘s ashes, she finds herself transported eighty years into the past. There, she encounters not only the history that has always fascinated her, but also a romance that could change her life forever. I loved it.
I really liked The first girl child, so I thought I‘d give another Harmon book a try. This was, however, more of a romance only type of novel, and a bit βtoo muchβ for me. I‘ll give this author one more try though - any recommendations?
What the wind knows it on sale today kindle Australia.

Reading for Book Club meeting in April. We had a Zoom meeting in March & also will in April. Setting of the book is Ireland and involves time travel.

When Anne takes a boat onto an Irish lake to scatter her grandfather‘s ashes she doesn‘t expect for the present to #disappear and to find herself in 1921, reunited with her grandfather when he was a child. I picked up this book out of curiosity and ended up really liking it. I loved reading about Ireland during that time period and thought the time travel aspect was handled well. Really surprised by how much I enjoyed this.

This cover... gorgeous! If I love it as much as I think I will, I‘m going to have to get myself a hard copy. Planning to take the boys to the lake to fish with family and hopefully plug in the earbuds and get lost in the story for a while.
Originally picked it up last summer because I was on an Outlander kick and this is much in the same vein.
IMHO, this is a more succinct version of outlander. The timeline is shortens, the characters are deeper and more compelling much faster, and there is a lot less melodrama. Basically, I found it to be a lot of the things I loved about the first couple outlander books, but without a lot of the things I didn't love. And a real fresh setting.
Thank you Jennifer!!! I LOVE these socks and we are going to read Nina in July for our #BotmBuddyRead ππ₯° thank you so much sweet friend πππ Merry Christmas π
It's officially my winter break, I got through today's to - do list, and I'm kicking back. π₯³This book is a gentle read to start me off. Reminds me of Outlander and Susanna Kearsley books - time travel and history and romance.
The wind you hear is the same wind that has always blown. The rain that falls is the same rain. Over and over, round and round, like a giant circle. The wind and the waves have been present since time began. The rocks and stars too. But the rocks don‘t speak, and the stars are too far away to tell us what they know.β
Beautiful story. A bit predictable a few times, but still a lovely story. It evoked a wide range of emotions from me; I often could feel what the heroine was feeling. I sometimes don‘t care for time travel stories, but this one was well executed. I highly recommend.
"Don‘t revel in tragedy, Annie. Rejoice in love. And once you find it, don‘t let it go. In the end, it is the one thing you won‘t regret,β
"it is in the legends and tales that we keep our ancestors, our culture, and our history alive. We turn memories into stories, and if we don‘t, we lose them. If the stories are gone, then the people are gone too."
This was literary ambrosia. I loved it and gave it 5 sparkling stars. It was beautifully constructed and the two main characters were well developed. My only qualm was that when I closed the book, I wasn‘t left pondering any character tensions. The plot wrapped up so tidily that it was a little convenient.
Got to love a pretty #seabreezestack π I love the sea and still miss being close to it... Isn't that little fishing boat souvenir we bought in Hamburg (Germany) the cutest though? π
This stack includes two of my all time favorites and 5 star reads: What The Wind Knows and The Boy Who Steals Houses. ππππ
A beautiful story of love and historical fiction wrapped up in a bit of fantasy. Now I want to go to Ireland!
If someone‘s already put this out there, please excuse the repetition. This one‘s on US Kindle sale ($1.99). Lots of 4-5βοΈ reviews on Amazon and here as well. It was on my wishlist so I snatched it up! ππ€©
If you enjoy historical fiction, mixed with time travel and romance, then this is an incredibly satisfying read.
"My grandfather told me once that happiness is an expression of gratitude. And it‘s never wrong to be grateful."
Oh. My. Goodness. That. Ending! The time traveling pulled me in. I was mystified by it. Somehow if you try to overanalyze it, it will just make your head spin. The story was beautiful and unforgettable. This is my first novel with this author and I am pleased to say that I enjoyed it very much.
I'm only in ch 1 and I'm already getting the "feels" with this book, and somehow I'm getting the premonition that something is about to surprise me. ????

I'm on a roll this month, another lovely novel with my favorite sub genre #timetravel. This one is set in 2001and 1920s #Ireland. #historicalfiction The image was found on Goodreadsπ
I had high expectations about this book but it didn‘t quite deliver. The novel is interesting and educational on the Easter Rising and life in Ireland at the beginning of the 20th century. As a love story, however, it did not evoke an emotional response...
It‘s been on the best seller list so I had to try it out. #Ireland #historicalfiction #timetravel β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ #worthit #reading #bookstagram
β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ I‘m REALLY enjoying this so far. Can‘t wait to see where it goes. Amy Harmon is so good.
Anne Gallagher grew up enchanted by her grandfather‘s stories of Ireland. Heartbroken at his death, she travels to his childhood home to spread his ashes. There, overcome with memories of the man she adored and consumed by a history she never knew, she is pulled into another time.

So, I completely forgot about Amazon first reads this month. Crazy! I chose the tagged book about a woman who travels to Ireland to scatter her grandpa's ashes and is transported back to 1921. The Broken Circle about the author's escape from Afghanistan and Where the Forest Meets the Stars about a mysterious girl who claims to be from the stars and sent to witness five miracles also sounded really good, so I pre-ordered them.
