While I have read and enjoyed Harry Potter a few times, I hadn't read any of the "extra" books, so I'm kind of excited about this aspect of #PotteraDay This one is a little dictionary of magical beasts from the Potter world, written as though it was written by a wizard. A fun, although not stellar, read.

I got both of these for Christmas and haven‘t read them yet. I think I‘m worried that they will take away from the absolute perfection that is the Harry Potter original books and I don‘t want that to happen. On the flip side, I‘d really like to see more of the HP universe! 🧙‍♂️⚡️🧙‍♀️🌙

I have gone with Thestrals! Don‘t get me wrong, I love dragons but I love that Thestrals are unique to the Harry Potter world and they have a dark feel to them. I find them super interesting!

My first ever audiobook and I loved it! Read by the actor who plays Newt Scamander, it was a fun depiction of all the magical creatures, both those used in the Harry Potter series and some that are not. I'm not sure if the paper book would be quite as much fun though.

Such a fun quick read. I found myself smiling along as I listened to the narrator (bonus: it was Eddie Redmayne) describe all the clever ways we muggles might have overlooked these magical species in our lives (e.g. the Loch Ness Monster makes an appearance). Read it- you won‘t be disappointed!

A day late with #frideas...

1. Both. Depends on mood.
2. Luna, Hermione, Mrs Weasley, Professor McGonagall.
3. Barty Crouch Sr, Dolores Umbridge... a lot of people who allowed bad things to happen.
4. They‘re wonderful, even the interminable bits of Book 7. Every part has a purpose. I love the development of earlier characters in Fantastic Beasts.
5. Ancient Runes, Divination, History of Magic, Charms, Herbology, I‘d like a class in wand lore...

Harry Potter/ Fantastic Beasts program at the library. I built this beautiful Pickett all by myself 😂 and my wand came out pretty good.

I just took delivery of Fantastic Beasts and The Crimes of Grindelwald.

I absolutely love all the Harry Potter books and films however this book wasnt really my cup of tea. It was quite different to what I was expecting but wasn‘t terrible.
