Goal Mapping
Goal Mapping: How To Turn Your Dreams into Realities | Brian Mayne
6 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
Traditional goal-setting techniques focus on left-brain words and endless repetition to embed goals into the subconscious.Goal Mappinguses imagery, the language of the subconscious, to impact both halves of the brain, creating a potent force. The book outlines a series of simple steps to help readers open the mind and visualize dreams and aspirations, and then, using the templates provided, to map out specific goals or even a period of life. Whatever the dream,Goal Mappingcan help achieve it.

The incredible @Soubhiville posted this. She's been receiving a lot of answers! So, if you're interested in finding them in one place, head on over to this amazing Litten's profile and post 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. And spread the word to other challenge organizers to make sure they include theirs. @RaimeyGallant , you're awesome at getting the word out to newer Littens who are liking to get their feet wet 😊👍🏻👍🏻. #2018ChallengeGoals

I want to know what challenges are out there!

I plan to reread Terry Pratchett‘s Discworld series, reread Alexander McCall Smith‘s No. 1 Ladies Detective Company Series, and tackle my out of control physical TBR. The only “official” challenge I‘ll set is Goodreads.

Tell me your goals Littens!

ju.ca.no #yearofthechunkster challenge and #mountTBR challenge, so I can hopefully reduce the amount of books that have been waiting to be read for such a long time🙈 6y
Cinfhen Thanks for the tag @Soubhiville 😘I'm co-hosting #Booked2018 a seasonal reading challenge with @BarbaraTheBibliophage & @4thhouseontheleft 💕💕I plan on doing #pop18 #GoodReads & maybe #ERmadlibs & #TheReadingWomen 💟you should join #Booked2018 it's only 6 prompts per quarter and u don't need to complete all 6 to be eligible to enter a drawing for a gift card 😃 6y
Soubhiville Thanks @Cinfhen I‘ll check it out! 6y

Cinfhen If you need the link let me know... 6y
Soubhiville @Cinfhen I followed the hashtag 😊. But feel free to put the link here anyway! 6y
CoffeeK8 I‘m doing the Popsugar challenge and The Passport Reading Challenge 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘ll be doing Goodreads, #Booked2018, #pop18, #MountTBR, and #ERmadlibs. Plus some buddy reads. And here I said I was going to do less this year! 6y
LauraBeth I think a good goal for me in 2018 is to set realistic goals 😂 so I‘ll probably just do the Read Harder challenge. I tend to bite off more than I can chew, which leads to a lot of things unfinished, which leads me to thoughts of failure - so I need to be better about that. 6y
BookishMarginalia #LitsyAtoZ 2018 💪🏼 6y
alisiakae I‘m doing #Goodreads, #Booked2018, #pop18, #mountTBR and #litsyclassics. Although I plan on stretching Litsy classics across more than one year. 6y
tpixie No official challenge but my own. I'm lucky to get all my bookclub books read! #CoverToCover #LitsyBookClub and my in-person Friends With Books. But I plan on working on all my #LitsyGoesPostal gifts from 2017 & I'm working to read all of @ChrisBohjalian 's books! (edited) 6y
rubyslippersreads So far, #litsyclassics, #Booked2018, and Goodreads. Although I really should do #mountTBR too. 😄 6y
Soubhiville Oh, @tpixie I love Chris Bohjalian‘s books! What‘s your favorite so far? Mine is 6y
Soubhiville @ju.ca.no how many pages would you classify as a chunkster? I love that hashtag! I love long reads, so I‘ll join you guys for some of that! 6y
ju.ca.no @Soubhiville hmm I think for me it is more like a personal decision what I‘m counting, I chose books that I havn‘t read in the last year because they would take me so long to read that they would‘ve dragged me down on my Goodreads challenge! I think mine are 500+ @Ashley_Nicoletto what do you think? Is there a pagecount that classifies a book as a chunkster?😊 (edited) 6y
Soubhiville @LauraBeth I hear you! That‘s why I decided to limit myself to MountTBR and the two series I want to read. 6y
Soubhiville @rubyslippersreads I tried to pull as many challenge books from my TBR as possible this year. It worked pretty well! And with MountTBR I don‘t set a number, I just try to pull from my own books as much as possible. 6y
Soubhiville @bookloo @Chelleo I haven‘t heard of some of those yet!!! 6y
tpixie So my favorite is -DB, but I'm still early in my exploring! 6y
Ashley_Nicoletto @ju.ca.no @Soubhiville I just picked things that I've been putting off due to them being long. Most of them are 500+ pages, but I have a few 400s. Whatever you feel like a #chunkster is counts! I picked 15 of them I think. Definitely use #yearofthechunkster so I can follow along on what everyone is reading! (edited) 6y
Soubhiville Awesome @Ashley_Nicoletto ! I generally call anything over 500 pages a #doorstopper, bit chunkster is cute! I‘m definitely be using your challenge hashtag! I‘ve probably got at least 10 that big on my TBR. 6y
Carolyn-HHI I believe I am doing both the #popsugar2018 and #thereadingwomen ... both have some prompts that will stretch me a bit. 6y
Giabow I‘ll be doing the #goodreadschallenge, the #popsugar2018 challenge, and the #bookriot #readharder challenge for sure. Maybe others if they come up and seem interesting. I like challenges. 6y
dariazeoli #Litsyclassics and #mounttbr for sure. Also continuing my #chronologicalkingread and #192019challenge. Oh, and of course the #goodreadschallenge ☺️ (edited) 6y
Bookzombie I think for official challenges I‘m just going with #Booked2018 and #yearofthechunster. I‘m setting my GR goal lower because I want to focus on number of pages rather than number of books. 6y
Hooked_on_books You know, I never set reading goals before Litsy. I think I‘ll do the goodreads goal again and perhaps MountTBR (though unofficially) and I‘ll probably make up some more TBR bingos for myself, since I‘m having fun with that. My main goal really is to read my own books and stop going to the library until I‘ve read the stacks down a bit! But that never lasts. 😂 6y
Soubhiville @Carolyn-HHI I hadn‘t heard of #thereadingwomen yet! I like to try to read more women authors in general, that‘s a nice challenge! @Giabow wow you like to take on a lot! Good for you! 6y
Soubhiville @dariazeoli you‘ve got a lot planned too! Do you allow books to count for more than one challenge? 6y
Soubhiville @Bookzombie I‘m shooting for pages over book numbers next year too 😊. @Hooked_on_books I only did the Goodreads challenge before Litsy, but seeing posts on Goodreads and FB about read harder and others intrigued me. I haven‘t tried the selfmade TBR bingo, but that seems like a fun idea, and less pressure. I enjoyed doing challenges this year, but I‘m hoping to just read down my own shelves in 2018. 😊🤞 6y
dariazeoli @Soubhiville For sure! It‘s the only way I can make progress on all of them! 6y
Reviewsbylola I‘m going to finish up #botmchallenge and #tbrbingo in the new year and I‘m also doing #booked18 and #pop18. 6y
Carolyn-HHI @Soubhiville - I agree! Time to read more by women. ❤️ 6y
MaleficentBookDragon I do the Goodreads Challenge Factory‘s Dusty Bookshelf and Finish What You Started monthly challenges. I‘ll also do their Around the a year in Books and main challenge. I‘ll probably do the Litsy A-Z. I also like to make Bingo cards to get me to read books I already own. (edited) 6y
britt_brooke I always set a number on Goodreads, then add some specifics. These are my goals for 2018 so far:

85 books
* 25 books already owned
* 3 pulitzer winners
* 8 classics
* finish Vonnegut‘s books
* 2 buddy reads
* reread To Kill a Mockingbird, A Confederacy of Dunces
6y
britt_brooke @Soubhiville ☺️☺️☺️ 6y
EclecticReaders Thanks for the shoutout @Cinfhen & @BarbaraTheBibliophage ! We have a lot of fun with our #ERMadLibs reading challenge! 6y

6 months into the year, and I have finally, finally hit a 100 books (anxiety brain plus data nerd, always a great combo). I'm still 22 books off schedule, but I think I'll get there and have a good time doing it. :)

britt_brooke Well done! 👏🏻 That's an insane amount of books. 💚 I'll be happy to reach 100 by the end of the year. 7y

Sometimes we really have to remember it's ok to feel. Accept all feelings. Embrace the good with the bad. Don't give one emotion all the power. #feelings #readinggems #quotestoliveby
