Rewind time with the classics as you teach fiction in the classroom using leveled texts! Learn how to differentiate instruction with this book featuring passages from 15 different classic works including such titles as: Little Women, The Lords of the Wild, and The Prince and the Pauper. Each passage is written at four different reading levels with a focus on setting, character, plot, or language usage and features matching visuals. Symbols placed in the lower corner of each page represent the reading level range and are designed to help teachers differentiate instruction. Comprehension questions are also provided to complement each reading level. A Digital Resource CD is included with a modifiable version of each passage in text format and full-color versions of the texts and image files. This resource is correlated to the Common Core State Standards.

Calculating points
Read a book set during era prompt = 1 point
Read a book set during era prompt that includes a #ThemesMotifs&tropes from list = 1 point

For example
In February read a book set during Russian Revolution (1 point) that has a grand house (1 point) and a confession (1 point) would equal 3 points.

Keep your own score, we‘ll touch base quarterly. Then at the end of the year 🎁 🏆 prizes for those with the most points.

AmyG Can you please take me off the list. I am sorry but I won‘t be participating. Thank you, though. 🙌🏻 11mo

Cuilin @AmyG 👍 11mo
AnnR Could you please remove me from the tag list, too? Thank you. This looks fun but I think I'll be focusing on a few buddy reads next year (including Sherlock) which will keep me very busy. 11mo
Cuilin @AnnR 👍 11mo
willaful I think I'm also going to bow out... I feel overcommitted. :-( 11mo
Cuilin @willaful 👍 11mo
rubyslippersreads I‘ll stay on the list and read when I can, but keeping track of points is probably too much for me. 😏 11mo
Cuilin @rubyslippersreads I get it. There‘s an option to just read the monthly era prompts. 11mo
ChaoticMissAdventures Love this! I especially love that I get to pick my book with this challenge, I don't join a lot of these because my TBR is naturally so long. But since I always have a lot of historical fiction around this is fun for me. 11mo
Cuilin @ChaoticMissAdventures 🥰 wonderful 11mo
julieclair Love this idea! 😀 11mo
PageShifter Can you add me to the tag list? 11mo
rwmg Can I just keep to the period prompts without the other complications? 11mo
Cuilin @rwmg absolutely 💯 11mo
Cuilin @PageShifter of course 11mo
squirrelbrain Thanks for the tag but I‘m trying not to do *any* challenges next year (ha - we‘ll see how that goes!) so could you please take me off the list? 11mo
Cuilin Of course 👍 11mo

repost @MicrobeMom It is that time if the month again to choose our next read for my fable book club #ProfStaceysTBR (open too all, see link below). We are thinking historical fiction for this month and these are the one I have in my shelf. Do any any of these catch anyone‘s interest? The tip book is Band of Sisters. Thought?

All set for July #BookedInTime

Year of Wonders is my planned read. I came across a hardcover Girl With a Pearl Earring for $2 and I remembered seeing it on one of the suggested reading links for 17th century books so I figured why not 😄

Thank you for all the posted suggestions - they were a Huge help!! I hope to get to both but life always seems to have other plans for me these days.

Cuilin I‘ve read both. Great choices!! 1y
TheBookgeekFrau @Cuilin Good to hear!! Thanks for starting this group, I'm so looking forward to reading books I might not normally reach for 😊 1y

repost for @Cuilin:

All are welcome to join a monthly low key readers group dedicated to historical fiction. Each month you choose a book to match the prompts. Join every month or just the ones that interest you. Read, review, and tag. Some months we may buddy read the same book.

Also tell me your favorite eras for HF as I‘m putting prompts together.

Sometimes I‘m bold and step out of the safe space of historical fiction literature, and step into... history 🙂
