Honestly wasnt sure at first how this book would be. Whether or not it would be difficult to follow as it has 4 different POV'S from within the storyline but i can say that I enjoyed it and would definelty consider reading it again.

@TheAromaOfBooks @PuddleJumper

Didn't read a lot this month but still had a few wins:
- both spins: Randomize by Andy Weir (#BookSpin) and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho (#DoubleSpin);
- a #Roll100 pick from back in March: Saints of the Shadow Bible by Ian Rankin;
- a #BookSpinBingo 🎉

A special mention to the tagged book, an emotional, powerful, tough to read in parts fictional account of a school shooting.

Can't believe half of 2023 is gone...

I read this for #ISpyBingoJanuary for the Writing Instrument prompt. It was reverting. I couldn't put it down. There are so many school shootings these days. I loved the way this story is told. We see four main characters telling their story for the same event. This is a fictional story, but the author did lots of research. @Clwojick @TheAromaofBooks #LitsyLoveReads

Any state or entity becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures nations, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, yet convinces nobody; when it dons armor and calls it faith, when in the eyes of God it is naked, having no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of humanity... That state is obsolete.

There was potential for the book to be better, but I did enjoy reading it. I think I finished it in under 24 hours, which I either do because I'm really into the book or because I have a problem task switching, and this book was definitely an "I'm really into the book" situation.

It's pretty intense for this style of read and I did enjoy that it took place in a small amount of time from different perspectives.

This book had me hooked I read it in one day. I couldn‘t put it down, it leaves you on so many cliff hangers and you just had to keep reading. I loved this book. Just to you know this book is pretty gory and there is a lot of death so be cautious with this book.

This one caught me in the feels. As a teenager watching the events at Columbine High on CNN, I was profoundly affected. As a teacher who practices lockdowns, I am aware of the possibility of tragedy in schools. While this school shooting story is fictional, the characters are familiar, and the emotions are real.

Checking this off my #bookspinbingo board. I picked this one up randomly on a trip to Barnes and Noble having never heard of it before.

I can‘t lie, this was brutal. I shouldn‘t have expected anything else from a book about a school shooting but it was so so sad. A tearjerker for sure.

35/100, 5☆, This was such a gripping story, I read through it at lightning speed because I just could not put it down. The fear and tension is so tangible, the writing is simple and yet portrays the harrowing events of a school shooting so thoroughly.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a short book that got me out of my reading slump. It‘s about a school shooting and it‘s told in 4 different POV. The ending definitely made cry. It did get a little confusing because it was a bit hard to connect the characters to one another. 4/5 ⭐️

I got like halfway through before I just couldn‘t read more. I can‘t even describe it really, it‘s just dumb. Two characters are running to call the police and desire to start their romance there. Like okay sure. Frankly, don‘t even bother.

I picked this up because I am also writing a novel that deals with a school shooting. I grew up with Columbine in the 8th grade and everything after. I've seen the different sides and this took me back to the wild emotions I have felt every time. Unfortunately, this is not where it ends. There will be more. And more. But this book reminded me of what my purpose in life is: to tell stories that inspire a change in people.

A tragically powerful and disturbing account of a school shooting told primarily through the eyes of four students located both inside and outside the school as it happens. It reads like a tense thriller but more painfully so.

Couldn‘t put this down! It‘s a terrifying account of a tragic event, and I like that we see multiple perspectives. As a teacher, this sort of book hits me in the feels, especially knowing that it‘s an all too real fear that my colleagues, students, and myself have to at least give thought to.

I finished this book on vacation and it was very emotional. It highlights a lot of heavy topics in a short time, but topics that need to be talked about. I enjoyed this book a lot, but I may find it hard to read again, unless I want a good cry. Easy fast read, but be prepared.

⭐️4/5
This book seems to be a love/hate it novel. The reasons I‘m giving it a high review is because sometimes I think messages being consumable by the public is more important than craft and I cried through almost all of it.
The author looks at school shooting through multiple POVs and while the victims voices muddle together, what‘s important to me is that the shooters history is slowly revealed, but never in a way that forgives him. (Comments)

CollapsingLibrary The shooter isn‘t just evil but his abuse and bullied background aren‘t used to say “Oh poor him”. I think school shootings are complicated in nature but one thing this book does is really bring it back to the lives it destroys: the kids in school, their families, and the community. 5y
CollapsingLibrary It‘s been a while since I read it (with family in education and family in law enforcement I get a little too close to these matters), so with more space I don‘t have everything as fresh in my mind, but I also get the perspective of what you‘re really left with after this book: and it‘s a sense of urgency for change. Which seemed to be the authors goal, making the book well done overall, in my opinion. 5y
Soubhiville Great review! I‘ve had this in my kindle for ages. It might be time to read it. Thanks! 5y

This was such a tough book to read but really well written and just a story that consumes you once you start. It‘s a very realistic view of a school shooting from varying perspectives as it is happening. Excellent writing and it of feeling - just very sad and hard to realize that this is a reality of our world.
