For today, I‘m sharing this ebook that I‘ve had on my Kindle since 2019. It has the word Orange in it. I also have the audiobook on Audible but I haven‘t heard great things about the audiobook narrator so maybe it would be better for me to read the ebook. It sounds really good. I used to be a GOT fan but not anymore because of how Season 8 ended and the book series is unfinished.

An ancient evil, locked away for 1000 years, is waking. And the realms may not come together in time to defeat it.

This needed to be two books. We start with a lot of world building, so it‘s slow. But then we switch realms, with even more slow world building. I really enjoyed Ead‘s chapters, but I didn‘t connect with the other POVs.

Having the character guide or map at hand would have smoothed a lot of the confusion. But, A+ narrator. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

squirrelbrain I have this one on Kindle but don‘t really read fantasy.... is it too much of a chunkster for a first-timer?! 5y

Kalalalatja @squirrelbrain that‘s a tough question! Do you normally like chunksters? This is high fantasy, so it is a completely new world, with nothing similar to our own, and the book doesn‘t give you a thorough introduction, it is more “learn as you read”. But if you are up for the challenge, I would say go 😄 5y

squirrelbrain Hhhmm, I do love a good chunkster but just not sure about the fantasy thing. I‘m sure it will languish on the TBR list for some time to come.... At least I‘ve learnt something new - I had no idea what ‘high‘ fantasy was.... 😁👍 5y

Kalalalatja @BarbaraBB technically, we aren‘t in quarantine any longer, so we can do our own shopping etc. But everyone is told to go out as little as possible, so we are still at home most of the day. But now it isn‘t mandatory any longer 👍 how about you, what‘s the status in The Netherlands? 5y

BarbaraBB We can go outside and the shops are open but most people stay at home and of course all schools and restaurants are closed and social events cancelled. It is quiet and empty but I spend as much time outside as possible. Even though it feels eerie. 5y

Kalalalatja @BiblioLitten most of the main characters are in their late twenties/early thirties, with a few being younger and older, so I don‘t consider this YA at all! 5y

Quarantine day 3/14

We are trying to do little “projects” each day, so we don‘t turn into couch potatoes completely. Today we gave the apartment a thorough Spring/Covid-19 cleaning, so I feel justified in taking a few hours with my book and a cup of coffee 📖☕️

It might also be the isolation that is getting to us, but we will see over the next few days 🤞 5y
