I read RQ as the trades came out for ages. Then I fell behind. Starting a reread to finally catch up on later issues and it is delightful as ever.
When I am in need of some #comiccomfort I turn to Rat Queens. I have not stayed caught up with things, but I love to read the first few volumes. You laugh, you cry.... well maybe not the last one. But there is a lot of laughs and adventure to be had. My friends and I even did a group costume once! I got to be Hannah and wore the shortest skirt of my life. It is a comic series that makes me feel great!
A fun graphic novel about a band of adventuring mercenaries! Betty is the D&D character I would love to be.
Another book finished for #FabulousFebruary. @Andrew65
I can imagine that this might be a fun read if you are really into D&D, because of the type of characters, themes and setting. However without that connection, I found the plot to be watery, and the writing to be kind of cringey, filled with juvenile jokes and seemingly inspired by frat parties or something of the sort. Such a disappointment. This snippet is the only thing I really liked.
Started a new D&D campaign with some friends and apparently our characters are strikingly similar to a few of these ladies.
I read a sample story type thing with these gals and it was great. Finally getting around to this first volume and it's just as I expected: raunchy and bloody. 👌

This was laugh-out-loud ridiculously good fun. An all female band of mercenaries, as hard partying/hard fighting as the all male bands, is one of many sent on a quest only to find an assassin waiting for them. Who wants them dead? The Queens set out to solve the mystery. Sometimes you enjoy reading a story just because it‘s fun & you don‘t have to do much but shake your head in bemusement As it goes along & this is that story. A fun read.
Oh man, this weekend‘s entertainment is causing ALL the feels between Endgame yesterday, The Line Tender (wow, so good!) today & the worst/best yet to come—yes, Game of Thrones, I‘m looking at you. I need a breather. I need to turn the brain off for an hour or so (AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!) & this looks like it will do nicely. “...a violent, monster killing epic that is like Buffy meets Tank Girl in a Lord of the Rings world on crack!” Right?
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
1. Either Hannah from Rat Queens or April from Lumberjanes 🤣
2. Well, I agree with others, Umbridge was pretty bad but also maybe Holden Caufield...f*ck that guy annoys me!!
3. A Second Look- DTK :)
4. @llwheeler @cwheeler
@DannyHattan thanks for the tag!
1. Rat Queens, baby- gonna join the adventuring crew!
2. Palisade, because that's where all the fun starts!
3. Mage University- yawn!!!
4. @llwheeler @cwheeler

Rat Queens vol 1
About: strong females, fantasy, adventure, DnD
I‘ve had this copy for the longest time and never read it until now. Gotta say that it turned out way better than I expected (not sure if it‘s also b/c I started playing DnD too 😆). Anyways, a fun and humorous surprise 👍 I liked it and I will definitely continue with this series ☺️

Loved. Totally fun and full of humour and delicious characters. Can't wait to dive into the next one!
I was getting my oil changed the other day, and luckily it was just a short walk to the library where I quickly grabbed this and devoured it. I made it most of the way through Volume 2 before my car was ready. Bilford Bogin, it‘s so good!
Drinking, swearing, drugs, fighting, sex, did I mention swearing? Lots of magic and an octopus-god if I‘m understanding things properly. It ends on a cliffhanger and I don‘t have the next volume and that means I‘m super put out about it. I‘d read the next one right now if I had it!
This is already quite promising. I‘m probably gonna like Hannah.
Ok, trying another highly recommended graphic novel. Yes, I have a rather large ebook horde and I can honestly say I have no idea what‘s in there. It‘s a little scary.
I‘m not sure what I thought this series was going in, but what I got was completely unexpected. The Rat Queens are hilarious and badass. I love everything about this graphic novel.

4/5⭐️. I have only starting reading comics this year. I loved this series start. Looking forward to reading more.
Palisades five local adventuring parties are offered dungeon release if they each complete a quest. The parties quickly find they've been set up when assassins appear at each quest location.
The badass Rat Queen party take out some villains and return to Palisades to figure out who set them up.
Filthy language, crude humor, and strong female characters make this a fun series and I can't wait to pick up volume 2!
Another great graphic novel to add to my ever growing list 😆
Ugh. My depression/anxiety is rearing its ugly head. Mostly leaning towards the anxiety side. I'm restless. I'm exhausted but don't feel like I can sleep. Can't decide what to read. It's hard to focus. Praying that this will pass soon. 😔
A goal I have for myself this year is to read more comics/graphic novels. This is what I am starting with but I am open to suggestions.
This was about a group of 4 mercenaries who may not be the best at what they do, but always have each other's backs. It was a fun read, I can't wait to read the rest!
Keep chuckling out loud after reading the first issue, hilarious so far!
This book is funny, irrelevant, violent, heartfelt, and just plain weird. I can't wait to pick up the second volume to see where the story goes.
Also, I relate so much to Dee at the party. ❤
I think it's obvious from my previous posts that I 💚💜💙❤💛 this hard! Their wit, sass, terrible catchphrases, varying morals and ethics, diversity, strength, loyalty, practicality, love of cussing/eating/drinking/getting high/ having sex won me over!!! And I haven't even mentioned the side characters who are equally awesome (lookin at you blue-bird-beard Dave and ya, f*ck you Gary!).
Also, I give a +5 to speed reading if you stack it!😜
This smidgen is really reminding me of my last D&D character, a gnome who was also particularly good at sneaking, disarming traps, and liked various "teas"...
Sass AND Sorcery !!?? 😍 will this possibly be my #favefairytale ?? #backtoreading
