I wouldn't mind being in the tagged book's setting for Christmas. I love tamales!

Re-read one of my favorite Christmas books from my childhood. I really love how the children in this book try to problem solve by eating all of the tamales. As a child, this made me crack up all the time. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kind of sad we were not able to have our tamalada (family tamale making party) this year but I did have a #nice weekend making our traditional Christmas Eve meal with my niece and sister. Love the tagged book and we always bring it out to read while making them.

If you‘ve never spent a whole day making homemade tamales you are missing out on a truly amazing experience! I have a lot to get done this week but it is so good to stop and take the time to cook with my best friend.
This is a great diverse book to read in the classroom. It can be used as a RA or IR and be a part of the classroom library to promote diversity. Author, Gary Soto, wrote this story to add the list of books that deal with Latin culture, which at the time was scarce. It‘s a comical RF picture book that also teaches about honesty and responsibilities.

#onlyatchristmas does the family get together to make the traditional but very labor intensive Christmas tamale, we make approximately 15 dozens. The picture of my grandmother is of her last Christmas with us and the other picture is my mom teaching my niece how to spread the masa, picture taken last year.

Favorite childhood Christmas memory is of my grandmother making tamales. We honor her memory by continuing the holiday tradition. Admittedly, hers are better!
I ate a tamale tonight and now I'm itchy all over. I can't be allergic to corn and wheat!! 😩😭😩😭 Help! At least I've got doggie snuggles. 💕🐶💕
