I enjoy Moriarty‘s mysteries; the ones I‘ve read involve multiple POVs that connect in the end. This one fell a little flat for me because I guessed the ending, and I wasn‘t a fan of one “piece” of it - it felt like a character was settling. It was still well written, but I also want to say it has suicidal thoughts and things of that nature. I may not need a trigger warning, but it‘s something I would mention when recommending/lending a book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Post partem, biological clocks ticking away, discovery sexuality, and more. Good story and I liked the twist 😉
Superb. This is my third Moriarty and she simply does not disappoint.
Finished this one the other night and while I enjoyed it, it was not one of my favorites of Moriarty‘s. I have one more of hers to read and then I‘ll be caught up on her backlist before her next book comes out later this year though! I had trouble keeping track of all the characters in this one and the “big reveal” felt like a bit of a let down, but I laughed out loud a few times and there was one last small surprise near the end I liked. 3.5 ⭐️
Happy Friday! We survived the week.
I got confused and expected a common murder mystery, but it was a great read nonetheless! I guessed the truth about the Munro mystery before it was revealed, but the book was still interesting, with a wonderful cast of characters. I wish one specific character turned out to be bisexual instead of gay - it would have provided even more diversity (us bisexuals are so often forgotten!) and offered a final twist in another character‘s happy ending.
I won‘t say that is my favorite Liane Motiarty book but I did enjoy it. I enjoyed all the different characters and how their individual story played a part in the bigger story. I did feel like the ending was a little rushed and I wanted to know more about the characters especially Sophie! I have had this book on my shelf since 2016 so I am glad I could use it from the #booked2021 prompt: set in Australia
I enjoyed this book & the different personalities of each character. It shows the lengths that family will go to keep a secret, protect or provide for each other. Whilst the love of some doesn‘t always feel obvious, scratch the surface and you‘ll soon realise it‘s been there all along, just maybe your perception has been skewed.
Hi Litsy! It‘s been awhile! With the library re-opening at home, I was inspired to post again! 🤓📚

This was an enjoyable book about a dysfunctional family and their secrets. The author did a great job building the characters and their family dynamics, and I enjoyed listening via audiobook immensely to their varied difficulties and growth.
Enjoyed the quirky characters and the “mystery” of Alice and Jack Munro. There were some surprising moments as well as humorous. Overall, just a really enjoyable read! If you‘re a fan of Moriarty, you will enjoy this story!
This is the lightest book I‘ve read of Moriarty‘s but still loved it. Imagine being 39, afraid your biological clock is ticking fast and suddenly you inherit a fabulous house on a small island from your EX boyfriend‘s dead aunt! So begins the story of Sophie, who has the jolliest parents on planet earth. The mystery of a couple who disappeared and left their baby on the island is ever present. Enjoy the read!
Who knew?! I‘m so glad someone is keeping track of this for me! Thanks y‘all! Litsy has made these past three years truly unforgettable! ❤️😫📚
Today is my 3rd #Litsyversary 🥳🎈🎉! I love this community more than words can say. Thank you for a wonderful 3 years and here's to many more to come! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
(Btw the tagged book is a wonderful story, it was the first Moriarty book I read.)
Not my favourite Moriarty, but it was still a good listen. It‘s hard for an audiobook to keep my attention, but I had no problems with this one. It‘s cute and quirky.

Audio cooking. I usually have a hard time focusing on audiobooks, but this one is really good. I‘m having no problem paying attention.

When Sophie‘s ex-boyfriend‘s Great Aunt Connie leaves her something in her will, Sophie is just as surprised as Connie‘s family. When she decides to accept the inheritance, she begins a new life surrounded by an old family secret. What a fun, quirky, flawed group of characters. They come together perfectly, as I imagine Aunt Connie‘s marble cake did. I enjoyed my time with them, flaws and all, and appreciated the closing of the story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
My exciting Saturday night! We had so much fun celebrating hubby‘s bday last night with friends (thanks to our oldest taxiing us there and an Uber home). Tonight we had hubby‘s bday dinner with the kids: steamed crabs (it‘s a MD thing - no one does it like we do), grilled shrimp, roasted brussel sprouts, and of course beer to go with the crabs! Reading this book until my eyes close, with my constant companion. #hamiltonsighting #dogsoflitsy
Hubby and I took a long walk with the pup. Now I am relaxing and he‘s photobombed my background. Hamilton‘s making his bed in my reading chair. Oh, how I love that dog! ❤️🐩📚 #amreading #dogsoflitsy #poodlesoflitsy #hamiltonsighting
Walked for 45 minutes, now I‘m reading in the car during soccer practice. #momlife #soccermom ❤️📚⚽️
I‘m outside enjoying my porch again today. It‘s warm, but I love reading outside. Now if these mosquitoes would just leave me alone...
Lots of characters to keep straight from early on in this book. I had to sketch out a family tree cheat sheet! I think I‘ve got them all down, and I‘m quite curious as to how this will all play out.
Up next! There are 30 minutes left in the #reversereadathon and I am soaking up every last minute! @DeweysReadathon
This is one of my favorite books, & I decided to listen to the audiobook this time around. It holds up well and I once again had a huge smile on my face at the end of the book. I love all of the characters and the setting of the fictional Scribbly Gum Island in Australia. Bonus points for the awesome Australian accent in the audiobook. 5⭐️
I overuse the word cute too often, but it has to be said! This book is so cute! I loved every minute.
I love Moriarty‘s books and the way she tells stories! While this wasn‘t her best book, I still enjoyed her cast of varied characters and how she spun the mystery at the core of this story.

Definitely enjoyed it, but can't say I loved it. (Part of me just likes listening to the Australian accent on the#audiobook) 😁
Current #audiobook I get pulled into her stories so quickly!
I think I'm only a fan of half of Liane Moriarty's books. I devoured her most recent titles and started reading her older books. This is the second one I'm bailing on. Super disappointed, but got stick to my rules. Hook me by page 100 (read 159 of this one) or move along.

A decent family story with realistic varied characters, I found that “The Last Anniversary” couldn‘t impress me with its mystery, but kept me interested with its relationships & family dramas. I‘m intrigued by Liane Moriarty‘s writing and will keep her in mind for future reads, but this book was just too long & the predictable reveal of the Munro baby means this book is only getting three stars from me.

This was her 2nd book. It was light , fluffy and very well written. Would be a perfect holiday read. It was a bit predictable but had an ending that I loved. Just a couple of her earlier books to catch up on. @MrsMalaprop
Fun, quick read after the last few sad picks. This is my second Moriarty, the other being Big Little Lies obvi, and I really enjoy her writing style. Will have to go back and find other titles!
