Elvis and me | Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, Sandra Harmon

Pickpick

My parents were fans of Elvis my entire life. I mean, my name is Lisa Marie, though I've been told that's not why.
I saw the film Priscilla a couple of weeks ago and then realized that I'd had this book hanging around for a while. The movie is a very close adaptation of the sentiments in this book. Very interesting to hear (and see) Priscilla's version of their life together. #59-2023

I don‘t usually pick up fantasy books, but this was an absolute delight. The tale of a young woman with special powers is run off who is run off from town after town until she finds solace in an unlikely place, with trolls who hate humans. I enjoyed this so much. Book #59 in 2023

23 #59 Rhys Bowen is one of my faves. I enjoyed this book. However, the ending seemed a bit rushed and not terribly believable. A lot of coincidence to bring it all together. In spite of that it was a good story with likable characters.

Book #59
4.5/5
Not my typical read, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Bardugo's supernatural world, based on the history of Yale/Newhaven, is complex, as is the storyline she built from it. Great read for anyone who enjoys dark fantasy/thriller/mystery/supernatural fiction.

Book #59 done for 2022. This was a very interesting read. It shows that no matter how much money you have addiction and depression do not care.

claudiuo Thank you so much for posting these, you are awesome! As for books, I've read #25, closest is #30 Thin Air by Richard K. Morgan. Same for #92, I will use the ill-fated #100 which I still haven't read even if it came up 3 times already. Also #63 I read a couple months ago, closest is #59: The Last Librarian by Brandt Legg.
Thanks a lot again and wish you a restful end of the week!

PuddleJumper @claudiuo Wow! You are crushing it! 1y
Clwojick Seriously hoping you‘ll be continuing with this for next year, as I‘ve already started compiling two separate lists for my Chirp audiobook backlog, and my NetGalley backlog. I feel like I‘ll have better luck with the audiobooks, as opposed to doing physical books like I did this year. 1y
PuddleJumper @Clwojick Yes, I'll be carrying it on 1y

One of my earliest celebrity "crushes" and a recently reinvigorated interest led me to picking this up. I vividly remember hearing of GM's death and how that killed a tiny part of my childhood. This is an interesting study into the psychology of what can be called George's downfall. #59-2022
