Snow day! May not seem like a big deal for people in the North, but we don't get this much snow in Houston....like ever. It is quite peaceful to sit here with my book and coffee and watch the giant flakes fall from the sky
Our first snow day of the school year…and it kinda sucks because it‘s also the first day of assessment week…which means everything pushes ahead a day. 🤪 Still, I am hoping to get a pile of marking done and maybe finish my current read and make some cupcakes to bring to the kids tomorrow. I have already shovelled, but will have to go back out once the plow has come along.
Oh @LeahBergen what a wonderful parcel! Well worth the wait! 😉 Thank you so much! Thrilled with the books! (So pleased to have a Handheld Books edition as I eyed them for years but never purchased one!) Love the card, the post card, the bookmark, the whole kit'n'caboodle. ☺️ And curious if you would recommend visiting Mankato?
Totally forgot to do this yesterday…

Thanks for the tag @Sace 😊
PSA: This is NOT book related. 😂
This is the view from my front porch this morning…8 inches here in North Alabama.
I know, I know…but this is a BIG DEAL for us southerners, folks. 😳🤍☃️
I always forget how silent and peaceful the world is after a snowfall. ❄️❤️

I found some more books for Jace & I to read together for #foodandlit this month. This is an adorable story about a cat named Katje who lives with Nico, who works as a miller. Katje finds herself feeling left out when Nico marries and has a baby. Katje saves the day (and the baby!) when a dam bursts and there‘s a flood. 4.5⭐️

I‘ve always loved the stories of Mog and her adventures. This book marks the end of them. After she dies, she quickly realizes the family can‘t see her anymore, though she is with them. When they bring home a new kitten, she is delighted to know that it can see her! They play together and Mog lives on…in another way.
