Well, while it‘s still snowing at home, I‘ve found a couple nice, warm, sunny spots to read while on a work trip further south in Alaska, and I am loving soaking up the vitamin D. I had a yummy mocha earlier and now sipping on a strawberry basil smash canned cocktail. Wishing I had packed sunglasses today!
pickThis book is not present here (I made a suggestion for it...) it's Pallide Streghe d'Autunno by Nicola Lombardi. A shorter, older version of the story has been published in English.
It's quite an interesting horror short story which recalls the movie Blaire Witch Project, and it kept me hooked - something not simple, as I'm finding it so hard to get back into reading as I used to! I really enjoyed Lombardi's style too. 5/5

This was the appropriately named brewery in Charlotte, NC that I hung out at yesterday!
In Charlotte, NC for a work trip this week, and yesterday I spent some time at a local brewery with the book I brought. Book accompanied by a yummy pretzel and tasty Plum-Rosemary-Orange Sour Ale. I was impressed, you can really taste the rosemary in this drink!
Side note: any Charlotte/Raleigh Littens around? I have one more day here (I have to drive back to Raleigh tomorrow from Charlotte) and would love a good bookstore recommendation!
so-soWhy would I want to read of a person who always seeks solace in others and cannot ever be happy? Such a sad story. The last couple years have been 😣 I may be moving at a snail‘s pace but I have hope I can do better by myself in 2024. I am currently OBSESSED with books about books. It's like distilled reading!
Today was a devastating day for my husband and I. We had to put our oldest cat, Frye, to sleep due to a heart condition and other issues. He was 16 years old. We just hope he finds his brother Bender on the Rainbow Bridge.
