I can‘t stop reading it - and reading a book about a dogmatic, unstoppable athlete is great motivation for working out
I started this one a few months ago on audio book but couldn‘t finish it in time before it was returned to the library. I HATE not finishing books once I get started, so I‘m so glad it was finally checked out to me again.
It‘s been a long time since I‘ve posted! Currently on maternity leave, and my baby is finally starting to sleep independently - which gives me time to read and work on this awesome puzzle! Liking the book so far and LOVING the puzzle
I‘m due any day now with my first baby, so I‘m taking advantage of the beautiful weather and freedom while I still can!
I‘ve got my bagel, my book, and 5 days of work left until summer break!
Finally getting around to this...as usual, Kate Morton has captured my interest from the first page.
Easily one of my top five favorite authors. I can‘t wait to get started!!!
I have never been as tired or stressed as I am these days, and reading has never felt quite as laborious as it has seemed recently. The shame of it is, is that I love reading more than anything else, and I just can‘t seem to ever feel relaxed enough to read anymore. Well I had a long car ride today and started this audiobook, and I love it. Nothing like a story about a book lover to bring a book lover back into business!
It has been months since I‘ve been able to sit down and enjoy a book. I decided to force it, despite being exhausted from my first week back at teaching and doing grad school work all day. I‘m glad I did. Enjoying this so far, even if some of the dialogue seems a little forced.
After a five month hiatus, I‘m back at it. This first discussion board post is taking longer than usual because I‘m so out of practice! Here‘s hoping I‘ll be able to get through this all (and still have enough time to read!!!!)
I have really liked Peter Swanson‘s other books, but this one was just so-so for me. I just finished, much to my surprise (I really expected more!), and it left me very unsatisfied. Oh well, you can‘t love every book you read!
Gift cards from students = immediate trip to Barnes and Noble!
Toes in the water, book in my hand...it‘s a beautiful day!
Kicking off Memorial Day Weekend with a beach read by one of my favorite beachy authors and salad to offset the junk later on in the weekend!
I love finding errors in books - it makes me feel smart. Despite this, this book is pretty fantastic. I love Lisa Genova. Smart, yet human and poignant.
Forgetting that tomorrow is Monday for the moment and enjoying a relaxing night with my new book.
Staring outside longingly after a week of rain. This turmeric latte is keeping me nice and cozy though as I wait it out!
I started listening to this on my way to work this morning and can‘t seem to stop. Enjoying it with some watermelon and a beautiful evening!
We moved into our house in September, so we couldn‘t really enjoy the deck at the time. Now that it‘s summer, I‘m obsessed- it feels a little magical back here.
Summer is in the air! A little cauliflower mac and cheese and tilapia to kick off a summer of dinners outside!
I LOVE cookbooks, and I was waiting very impatiently for this new Inspiralized book to come out. It certainly did not disappoint! I can‘t wait to get cooking!
Set the deck up today, so I finally get to enjoy sitting outside! A little homemade strawberry ‘ice cream‘ and a book makes for such a relaxing afternoon.
I love audiobooks. I listen to them when I am too busy to sit down and read- on the way to work and back, at the gym, and before I go to sleep. The problem with audiobooks is that you have to find the perfect marriage between story and storyteller for your preferences. I thoroughly enjoyed both, and although there were some predictable plot points, I was engaged enough to be terrified when my husband walked into the room last night!
A little ginger lemon water and an audiobook to start the evening...
Cooking a Passover friendly dinner for me and my husband while listening to a book = my kind of arrangement. I‘m really enjoying this book, but every time it goes into detail about ‘the arrangement,‘ my stomach churns a bit!
I had a few long drives yesterday, and a few more over the next few days, so I was looking for an audiobook to hold my interest. While I‘m a little uncomfortable with the premise, I‘m certainly entertained!
Downed power lines and trees in my school district means my fourth day off of work this week. It‘s a good thing I have books to keep me company!
A little snow day reading...
He never disappoints! Gripping until the end, with the truth not revealing itself until the last second. And- I loved the Myron cameo!
At work with about a million things to do, and all I want to do is read.
On my way into the city to see Hamilton!! Not much in the mood these days to start a new book, so an old favorite it is. Kate Morton can transport me on this cold, dreary day.
The cure for insomnia? Read a book! Revisiting an old favorite as I wait for sleep to take me.
Book lovers dilemma: get another coffee and keep reading at the store, buy it and read at home, or get it from the library (where there is always a wait!!)?
A blazing fire, a big bowl of butternut squash and bean soup, and a book- simply perfect (and the alliteration wasn‘t too bad either!)
Out of such horror and chaos comes some beautiful stories. I had never heard about any of this, but I‘m thrilled to read of such kindness and selflessness. A wonderful afternoon of tea, blankets, and heartwarming stories.
Taking five minutes from my lunch to read a little bit. I wasn‘t expecting to react as emotionally as I have been with this book- excellent start!
It sounds like it‘s going to be a mix between Rebecca and The Tea Rose- looking forward to starting (and drinking this hot chocolate)!
Entertaining, but I was not impressed with the writing. It almost seemed juvenile.
When given a choice between TV and a book, a book always wins :)
Iced coffee with a dash of cinnamon and a book- my perfect morning
A page turner, to be sure, but there is one big question I am left with, that I don‘t think was fully explained. I tried going back and rereading to see if there was something I missed, but I can‘t figure out what happened to Ella/Lanie when she was first ‘abducted.‘ Did her Mom sell her to Tom? Why did the mom say she thought he‘d bring her back? It wasn‘t fully explained. Any insights appreciated
Book two of my vacation, and it looks like it‘s going to be a very quick read. It started with quite the hook, so I‘m looking forward to seeing where it goes!
The only thing that could make this day cozier is some snow! Vacation life is the best.
