1. My teen discovered Rick Riordan. She's dusted through the first 3 books in the series this week and asked if we could go to the bookstore tomorrow for #4. This has NEVER happened before ♡♡♡
2. Had to travel for work this week and was upgraded to a suite at no extra charge - score!
3. The snow is gone! I really hope it stays that way.

5. Litsy. I love this community and my bookish friends.

Stayed up way past bedtime to finish this one. Karin Slaughter's writing style (coarse language, graphic violence) sometimes makes it hard for me to read, but her characters are amazing, and the mystery kept me turning pages. I adore Will Trent.

What a page turner!

A bit longer than it needed to be, but an otherwise interesting mystery about a news anchor whose child is abducted. I was also pleased to learn that Rick is a Canadian author.

I'm torn about this one. The main character does nothing but feel sorry for himself, which gets really repetitive. That being said, it was a page turner with a creepy atmosphere and I was hooked. I'm also not sure how I feel about the ending.

First book I've read in this series. Great main character. Interesting mystery and I did not guess the ending ahead of time.

Interesting mystery and great characters. I didn't want to put this one down!

A family gathers on a remote island for an anniversary celebration. Everyone has their own selfish agenda. Does everyone survive?
This one hooked me. None of the characters are really likeable and that is what made it interesting.

Solid o-k. Kept me turning pages but overall predictable

One of the best non-fiction, personal growth books I have ever read. Told in a story format with very relatable examples. This book has useful information for people at all stages of life.

This story is told through mixed media messages (WhatsApp, email, scripts, pages ripped from other books etc). It was a very interesting mystery but I am unhappy with the ending.

I liked the characters and storyline but gore was thrown in for shock value and that's not my jam. I didn't feel like it fit with the rest of the story.

A real page turner! I was drawn into the story from the first chapter, and the pages just flew on by!

Finished at 12:05am so crossover between last book of 2024/first book 2025. I enjoyed it! As a Canadian, I loved all the references to our government and found the threat they are trying to neutralize to be truly scary. I enjoyed the fast pace and location hopping. My only note is that this book draws heavy references from an earlier book in the series, and I feel like the experience may have been richer if I had reread that one first.

Really interesting read. Kevin Grange is a paramedic in US national parks and this book highlights some of his rescue calls.

A real page turner! The killer was not an easy deduction. There were a couple of times I had to suspend disbelief but overall a great read!

Great Christmas short story involving Jack Reacher.

Learned of Jennifer Blackstream this weekend at Halcon. She was funny and well spoken and this drew me to check out her work.
This book is best described as a romp. Witches, wizards, pixies, vampires, sidhe and a sorceress. Who murdered who and why? I was flying through pages trying to find out! I've already purchased the next book.

What a great read! I was hooked from page 1! The setting of the highlands is perfect for this grey time of year, the mystery was interesting, and the characters were complex. I look forward to the next.book in the series.

This mystery was full of twists and turns! Interesting storyline that kept me engaged.

This was a new format for me. The book is composed of podcast script, newspaper articles, texts and emails.

Page-turner that kept me wondering "whodunit."

A spooky, atmospheric page-turner!

1.The sun is shining here and there is a lovely breeze - couldn't ask for better weather.
2. I am looking forward to this evening, my famjam is going to check out the harvest jazz festival.
3.Next week is a busy one - my daughter's birthday (13), my husband's birthday and I am traveling out of town for work.

This one is a pan for me. The book was fast-paced. However, none of the characters were likable. I finished it as I wanted to know how it ended but was left feeling "meh."

Kay Scarpetta never disappoints! This one was about murder by microwave (not a spoioer) - very interesting.

I feel like this is a book that you need to be in the right frame of mind to read. It's relationship centered versus action/thriller, etc. That being said, I loved it! The characters were authentic and real and it was the perfect book to read outside on this beautiful day.

Twisty mystery that kept me guessing until the end!

This book is dark and violent with a very open ending. Not for me.
