In the final hours of a weekend away for our wedding anniversary 😌
I would lie in my backyard listening to the tagged book ALLLLL day, if I could.
Reading this one for my Final Girl book club. So far, a very fun teen-scream with which to kick off June 🔦 🏕 🔪
Bad day? Me too.
Read a book.
I love McFadden and how ridiculous her twists are, but this one fell a little flat for me. It was fun to listen to while I packed up my house, but the ending left me a little disappointed. I think there were too many POVs, and this from a reader who digs a multi-POV book. This time, it felt like too much build-up for too little payoff.
Only 60 pages in, but it feels like I found a hidden gem here. I stumbled across this series last night and can't put book 1 down. I'm enthralled with the gritty portrayal of an alternate world where cryptids live among us, but after an event called The Reaping, are now feared and have been reduced to abused carnival attractions.
The heat rippling over the surface of Charity Marlow‘s blacktop driveway was one hundred twelve degrees.

Getting ready to sell our house and the stager came by to give her professional advice, which included telling me I had too many books... she suggested removing most of the books from my BOOKshelves and replacing them with candles, plants, and stock photos. I'm not a violent person, but I was seeing red 😡😅
Just for fun, type "reading" and use predictive text to finish the sentence. Here's mine ??
Reading this is a good time. ? #TextFun
What do u get?? Tag a current read
This is between a pick and a so-so for me. It's worth noting that the story kept me hooked despite not liking the protagonist AT ALL. I was leaning towards a 4-star rating until the end. I just don't feel satisfied with the way her "growth" was handled. Creepy book, though!
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Got a gig reviewing books on Reedsy 🤓
Bring on the free books 🎉🎉📚
Well... winter is back. Time for a little spring cleaning during a spring snowstorm 😅 At least I have an audiobook to keep me warm 🎧📚
I stared at my father, waiting for him to say something after the bombshell he‘d dropped on me.
#FirstLineFridays Finishing up this very fun trilogy!
Yes, it FINALLY has!! Last night it was snowing, and today I'm sitting outside with a book for the first time in about 5 months! 🌱💕
A BIG smile for a BIG book. Taken just after getting home from the book store 🤓💕
#BabyBookHaul
There's an ice storm heading our way, so we took our son shopping and got him his first book haul (first time he's been active in picking his own books). Bring on the storm 🌨
Definitely the best handling of a cliffhanger I've ever encountered 😂 Also, what a fun series!
Using the allure of a libby hold popping up to try to pull myself outta bed this morning. It's half working.
recovering from routine surgery, so I'll be lying in bed binge-listening to this today for my fable bookclub 🗝🫣
Both my current reads include red-headed teen girl protagonists. Just a random observation, but I get a kick outta bookish coincidences like this lol
Conscription day is always the deadliest.

Decided on a whim to see what the big deal is with this one. I used to read a lot of fantasy, but this'll be my first big one in a few years. Looking forward to it 🤗
Maybe the best dedication I've ever seen 🤣
Visions ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Never Lie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Blonde Dies First ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Witchcraft for Wayward Girls ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 😟
Clearly, this month's theme was (unintentionally) Supernatural 🖤
I need this so much right now. I just finished Witchcraft for Wayward Girls, which was an amazing book that bruised my soul. Now I need the book equivalent of a hug 😅💗
January is a good time to visit the blacklist and clean up the TBR... but I NEVER do. I'm not sure about my physical shelves, but the oldest book on my Goodreads TBR (tagged) was added in 2015... a full DECADE ago 😅😅😅 I think I even own the ebook 🤦🏾♀️
Dear Scholar Clel,
Instead of reading further, I hope you will return this letter to its envelope or, better yet, crumple it into an abstract shape that might look quite at home on a coral reef.

Okay, fine, I accept that I couldn't guess a McFadden twist if my life DEPENDED on it. They're too wild!! I'm always shocked and laughing by the end of her books. They're so out there... and I love them!
Is there anything more satisfying than buying a book by a beloved author on the day of its release? Probably... but not much!
I wish Goodreads let you add private notes to your TBR. I add so many books that I know I'll only read if I'm in a specific mood or bc a specific person recommended it, and I'd love to note that somewhere!
The developer burns, I think, my stomach knotting up.
#FirstLineFridays Kicking off 2025 with a subversive slasher 🔪🖤
New Year, New Book journal.
As an audio/e-reader, I hope to one day line my bookshelves with annual journals. 2025 marks my third. I always buy this one ❤️
My first book bracket! It was tedious to make and difficult to choose, but I can now say with confidence that the best book I read in 2024 was Vicious 🖤 That said, I love every book pictured here 📚🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❤️
What books did u love this year?
Nope. This had a really cute premise and started off as a promising feel-good read about growth and found-family, but it just didn't deliver. With a rag tag group of 5 and 2 character POVs, the character development felt unbalanced. 1 or all would have been better. Not to mention, neither the dialogue nor the chemistry seemed believable. There was one intriguing sub-plot that I wish had been its own book, but alas, it was a just a footnote.
Decided to revisit this one on a whim while I wait (im)patiently for her next Haven's Rock book to come out.
It's a xmas miracle! Ever since Disney Hyperion released a trilogy of Buffyverse books, set 20ish years after the show with Willow's daughter as the new slayer, I have been saying they were planning a TV sequel. That Spike was spelled to look "old" and Buffy was missing were huge tip offs to me. Now I see this, and I KNOW I'm right. Looks like Disney and SMG had some negotiating to do lol Who's ready?! I sure am! ?
I'm pretty much fucked. 😅
Doing a comfort read for #firstlinefridays
December is chaos, but the Martian always settles me a little 😌
The descriptive writing in this book has its moments, and I was very swept up in it for the first half. But sometimes, it does feel like she's typing with one hand and holding a thesaurus with the other. Idk that I need a simile on every page.
If anyone is looking for Christmas Cozy audiobooks on audible this season, 23 are included in the membership 🎄 I've just added a couple to my library even though I probably won't have time to check them out lol
As soon as I crossed the town line, I could feel Thistle Grove on my skin.
#FirstLineFridays This book is an absolute joy, so far! Magical, cozy setting with modern witches who cuss. I'm all in.
Fable's shelfie feature made me this shelf based on 8 books I love. The blurb it gave was fairly accurate 😅 👇🏽
Supernatural mysteries and envy-driven
schemes? Your shelf is made of broken dreams
and bloody secrets. Embrace it-your taste
reveals a love for the darker, more intricate
layers of life.
I was in need of a fairytale, and this provided; going above and beyond to give me a fun and immersive experience. It puts such a creative spin on Snow White, with intriguing twists and a tough, likable protagonist. I enjoyed Cinderella is Dead, too, so I hope she writes more of these standalones!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
What a sight to stumble upon 😅 My son has been practicing standing up his books; my cat, it seems, is taking advantage 📚🐈⬛
It is easier to track an animal, or a person, if it is bleeding.

I've been craving a fairytale retelling and was thrilled to stumble across this one!
I've decided to do a cleanse... a news cleanse. I'm attempting to not open any news apps this week (though I've left my breaking news alerts set so that I don't miss anything major). Instead of doom scrolling, I'm turning to Litsy. When I need to scroll, this is where I'll be 😌📚📚📚📚 Loving my current read, too (tagged)
