AlexandraGriffin @Magoo the A Court of Thorns and Roses series is a bit mature for teens, but I'd hesitate to call it "adult". I think a young adult category that's like 18-24 would be the perfect category for this series. 8y

The series gets a lot of flack but I think it's pretty great for what it is. Paolini was young when he wrote it, but hey, he was passionate about something and stuck with it! I am excited for book five to come out in the coming years.

BookFreakOut Is there seriously a book 5?!? I thought they were done! I made it through 3 and liked them, just took too much time to reread with so many years between books being published. 8y
the_book_wench @BookFreakOut he's mentioned it several times on his FB page. Hems working on it or has just finished the first draft. I don't know much about it, like if it's an immediate continuation or years later, etc. 8y

A fantastic follow-up to the first Cormoran Strike novel. The stakes are higher, mystery is deeper, and Cormoran and Robin are even better than before! Maybe I am biased (I definitely am) but I don't think I could ever disliked anything Rowling writes, even if she puts it under a pseudonym.

I really enjoyed this book. I think J. K. (Ahem, Mr Galbraith) does a fantastic job of characterization and really making you understand the character in ways some authors can't. The mystery was great and hard to guess, and I love not being able to guess the mystery. Cormoran's a great character!

Okay, so this will probably be an unpopular review, but I didn't care too much for this book. I liked the idea of it, but I could not relate to the main character at all - even though I really should. I spent most of my time rolling my eyes at her and wishing she's stop being so whiney and selfish.

the_book_wench I still want to read Rowell's other books though. 8y
EliseWhitmore @the_book_wench If you haven't yet read Eleanor & Park I would highly recommend it. But, I really liked Fangirl, so... 8y

annzah I didn't like it much either - but loved Eleanor and Park and enjoyed Attachments also. Fanfic isn't my thing, never was, and I really struggled with those parts of Fangirl. 8y
the_book_wench @annzah the thing is I love Fanfiction. I've read it and written it so you'd think I would love this book. But I know you can't turn Fanfiction in for a class assignment among other things. Pretty sure I yelled out "are you serious right now?!" in exasperation at least twenty times while reading. 8y
BookFreakOut My old roommate hates this book with a fiery passion for the same reasons. I've sworn it off based on that, because, you know, solidarity. 8y
PrezBookster I felt the exact same way! The reason I couldn't finish it!! 8y

The book was good because it put an interesting spin on the 1001 Nights. Like others have said on here, I was not swayed by the instantaneous transition from hate to love. It didn't feel authentic and plausible. The story, however, was enough to carry it along and I am still glad I read it.
