I was starting to feel super overwhelmed about spring break coming to an end, so I decided to bring a book and some chocolate out to my porch and just fugeddaboutit.

Happy Spring Break! I have this book and one more until I'm done with the series. 😫 Rumor has it Fforde is releasing another one next year? 🤞
Book mail! There was a great sale for 6 books in Better World Books and the first 2 showed up! Going to have all the Thursday Next books and I plan to reread the whole series. Super fun 🦤🦤
Happy Passover!

I almost always have to read Jasper Fforde‘s books twice because there‘s so much info packed inside. This one is the 6th of 7 and it‘s fun and funny and good Lord, the Toast Board? 😂😂😂 I‘m putting off reading the last one for a bit because I‘ll miss Thursday and I don‘t want the series to end.
I've loved this series since the first installment because it's just so fun and full of literary/bookish puns and humor. This one was a bit different because instead of Thursday narrating we get to see the tale from Written Thursday's perspective. Even with that change the story still felt like a Thursday Next book with all the good things that normally happen.

Got out of the house and doing a bit of lunch reading. This has been interesting so far because it‘s not started with Thursday‘s POV but rather with Written Thursday‘s.
🐉 Dragons of course, who could resist the chance to see such majestic creatures. However, we could be in for some major destruction like the movie Reign of Fire. 🐉
❌ I'm grateful for my continued good health, and the health of my friends and family during these spikes in the covid pandemic.

Thank you @Butterfinger for the tag!! 😊
I prefer hamburgers 😍
My son loves fireworks just like I did when I was younger. So that is fun. But you know. I'm older now and worry about all the negative things about fireworks 🤣
I love a good all fruit popsicle. A good run through the sprinkler. And staying inside. Georgia's heat and humidity is no joke!
Thank you for the questions @MoonWitch94

1, 13, 99 and Funk & Wagnalls' selection of important events of the 1970s! Might be interesting to look through those today; a reminder of challenges we have faced in the past. Stay safe and stay home, if you can. Thanks to all of you who must venture out to take care of us all.
This was a stumper. I could choose someone who writes about living off the land, but where‘s the fun in that?
I choose Jasper FForde for the fantastical images and ideas...to take my mind off things. Kinda like now.

I liked this! I‘d been putting this one off, as I don‘t remember liking the past couple in the series as much as I started off liking it. I loved how Fforde described the written Thursday when she arrived in the real world, as it was all new to her. Now, I have to admit that sometimes it got a bit confusing trying to follow, but it is a very witty, creative series
#HelloThursday
1. I, too, hope to get out of my slump, so...more than 6?
2. Not participating in NaNoWriMo. But I do write essays...
3. End of daylight savings time + falling temps = Happy Lady
Happy November @wanderinglynn @JoScho @Chelleo @RaimeyGallant @Andrew65
1) Maybe manatee? I seem to have more favorites for each animal category than an overall one.
2) I think the Dodo from the Thursday Next novels might be a fun pet.
3) Nope
4) I've been told that it's a Cougar.
5) I think a Hawk would be fun for the flying.
#HelloThursday @wanderinglynn
1. S-A-H Mom
2. Babysitting
3. Best: There are 2. I) personal care attendant for a couple with physical disabilities II) Eduacational Assistant at a school for primary aged children with special needs
Worst: Support Worker at a group home for young women with dual diagnoses (The company was terrible, the clients were great).
4. Currently doing what I've always dreamed of doing. Still figuring out what will come next.
#hellothursday @wanderinglynn
Thursday Next is definitely the best #strongfemalelead to read on #internationalwomensday ! The sixth installment might nit be the strongest of the series, but i really enjoyed how Jasper Fforde once again managed to give a whole new perspective of the #bookworld and our favorite protagonist
My favorite part of the job: when the artist is on stage and i finally have time to read 😜
For all you writers out there, here's a bit of literary snobbery for you! #LiteraryHighbrowIndex #giggling
6th in the Thursday Next series 5*, the real Thursday is missing. Includes: Deregulated Imagination (TM); unpredictable syntax, poor grammar; a dodo named Pickwick; Outland tourism of the Book World; "not having a coffee" in a trendy shop because the price is too prohibitive; The Great Library, Jurisfiction, The Council of Genres; reading between the lines, and Epizeuxis. Witty repartee and wordplay that runs rampant
I limited myself to just my read shelves for today's challenge. It was only difficult for O. (If I'd allowed myself to pull from my tbr I could include Otherworld Barbara... which I'll be reading during #24in48 later this month 😄) #startswithmno #jubilantjuly
For #MayBookFlowers #missing a book from one of my favourite bookish series. If you haven't read any Thursday Next, you're missing out. This is book six in the series and is meta on top of meta, so maybe start at the beginning with The Eyre Affair!
Don't think I have seen this one yet #lyricalapril #map. Given I have cunningly cropped the top this is fiction island!
#17rainbowbooks There are a lot of books -and a lot of really good books - with #bluecovers!
#RiotGrams Day 4 - Since my new place basically only has my TBR I don't have The Eyre Affair on hand, but Jasper Fforde is good at making interesting villians all around.
While not entirely #setonanisland - this installment in the Thursday Next series does feature a rather fascinating island! #seasonsreadings2016
Because I've been meaning to reread the Thursday Next series I had to share this delightful fiction island map from one of the later books in the series. So fun! #mapsinbooks #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge
Choices, choices... At first I didn't want to finish the #ThursdayNext series, but now I reaallllyyy want to start #PaperTowns! Thanks, @EllesInBookland 😉
#currentlyreading book 6 in the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde
I'm going with Thursday Next as my favorite female character. Jasper Fforde's literary absurdist series is just too much fun, and has long been one of my go-to comfort reads. #augustofpages #bookphotochallenge #favefemalecharacter
While not necessarily my favorite of the Thursday Next series, "One of Our Thursdays is Missing" was pure fun. If only to see written Thursday step up to the plate.
And who can fault the humor of a mimefield??
