This is an excellent series told as literary podcasts. One issue, six points of view. The final outcome depends on which POV you think is the truth.
Six Stories - 20 year old disappearance of a teenager
Hydra - A family massacre
Changeling - Disappearance of a 7 year old boy from his father's car
Beast - Death of a vlogger in what's called “The Vampire Tower“
Deity - Death of a pop star by fire in his mansion
Demon - A possession

This was interesting. I liked how the feeling of the story changed with each person's perspective. The mystical/ supernatural elements felt distracting to me and I wish they'd either not been there or been much more of a thing. I definitely wanted to know what would happen and I liked this enough to download the next in the series so it's a pick for me.
This week in books: one Kindle purchase (tagged, blame it on a podcast); one 7 day library book; one nonfiction to pair with Fiona Davis‘ The Masterpiece; one #ShelfSubscription from The Bookshelf Thomasville, sent with a surprise ARC. #TBR
Day 5: In a recent interesting Crime Reads article “The Rise of the True Crime Podcast Novel“ author Kit Frick made the mistake of citing Kathleen Barber's “Are You Sleeping“ as the first true crime podcast novel. This oversight was corrected by a commentator who mentioned that Matt Wesolowski's “Six Stories“ was published a full year before Barber's. With the recent release of “The Beast“ the series is now up to four entries.👇
The premise of this has really grabbed me and I‘ve really gotten sucked in. It‘s told in the format of a six episode crime podcast, revisiting a cold case of a boy who went missing in woodland, only for his body to turn up a year later. It evokes (and actually mentions a couple of times) Serial.
It‘s majorly creepy in some parts too!
I‘ve still got about 40% to go but I‘d be inclined to pick up some more of the series.
I read "Changeling'" the third book in Wesolowski's Six Stories series several months ago & I thought it was an atmospheric & brilliant story. The tagged is the first book, & although he had yet to truly perfect the podcast feeling of his later book via inclusion of background noise & more varied speech patterns among the interviewees, this was an engaging & surprising debut. Definitely recommend.

Whoops! Thanks for the heads up @TrishB 😬🙃

Here's Delilah Bard snuggling with another 2019 favorite of mine: Six Stories by Matt Wesolowski. I've heard lots of fantastic things about this story ever since it came out and they are all true! I definitely can't wait to continue this series.
4,5/5 stars.

Really enjoyed this one as well and I love the cover. I really want to listen to the other audible books. Darn you for only being on audible. I always love a full cast.

#booked2019 true crime podcasts are now such an ever present part of modern media and i have listened to serial, end of days, and am currently enjoying Michael connelly's murder book. So this was a unique take on crime fiction as a true crime podcast investigates the mystery around a missing teenage boy some 20 years earlier. Certainly captures that podcast voice well although i still can't decide if i like mixing my medias.
I've wanted to read this book for a while so as it is in the format of a true crime podcast such as serial i think it loosely falls within the social media focus. At the moment im not sure about the remainder of my spring categories but might have a wander to the library for a speculative search. Anyway with that true crime podcast voice in my head off we go.

So good I stayed up to finish it! This is a unique, mysterious, creepy read that is written like a podcast. I‘m starting the second in the series today.
Yay done my first challenge for #booked2019 enjoyed this one not like anything I‘ve read before hopefully my biggest take from this challenge will be to broaden my reading choices so we‘re off to a good start 4/5⭐️ @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage
I liked the idea and story structure. I thought the podcast aspect lent itself to novel form surpringly well. I didn't like the writing. I kept almost putting it down, but kept reading because I had read reviews that said it had a good twist at the end. It more or less kept me entertained.
It‘s just not my day. I opened up a book from thriftbooks and it‘s missing the first 4 pages. Am I missing a lot of info in these pages? Am I okay without them? Am I cursed? Should I stop reading?
Diving in...
Super creepy ...Slow burn told via a series of podcasts. Not gory just .. disturbing. Loved it!
It‘s Hour 17 here in the secret volcano lair. I‘m getting kinda sleepy so I‘m going to try and scare myself awake with this book. Failing that, I will nap! How are you, Littens? Anyone else out there on the East Coast still up? - @Liberty #readathon 📚
Finished my second book for #lmpbc so this will be winging its way to you this week @Christine11 .
No review and no spoilers.

Makes a nice bookrest #catsandbooks Interesting book- from POV of podcaster doing a series a là Serial about a young man found dead. #podcastandcrime
Early morning with an unsettled dog so getting some reading and writing done before every one else gets up. This is an intriguing story with a very interesting structure to it. Enjoying it so far.
#lmpbc @jhod @Christine11 @AndiM
Finally been to the post office to collect the parcel off @jhod that had the next book for me to read in the #lmpbc. I actually picked this book up in a bookstore on Saturday and almost bought it ... so glad I didn't now! Looking forward to getting started but want to finish Pride and Prejudice first - my god is that a laborious read?!
I really enjoyed this one! When I heard that the book was formatted to read like a podcast, I was intrigued. I‘m a huge fan of Serial and S-Town, so I thought the story was unique & engaging. The formatting made me really evaluate everything the characters said and did. Six Stories had the right amount of creepiness & I honestly didn‘t expect that twist! Overall I gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Picked up the sequel & can‘t wait to dive in! #sixstories
I was fascinated by this book. The twist really threw me and I had to re-read a couple of chapters to see if I had missed something! That being said, in the end, I guessed the killer pretty early on. I wish that had been different, but I like where they went with the development of that character. I haven't read many thrillers recently but this one kept me hanging on to every word until the end.
I love the types of podcasts that this book is based off like Serial and so when I heard about this book I HAD to pick it up. It did not disappoint. The ending was satisfying and the format kept me intrigued the whole time! I wish I could have listened to this on audio book as it would have been perfect that way!
I have a pile of library books but haven't been motivated to read. Spent the weekend down the "rabbit hole" of 24 hour hurricane coverage and hanging out on social media. Been meaning to get to this read for a couple weeks. #notimelikethepresent #currentread
I have been getting a lot of reading done this Labor Day weekend & am super excited to start this one! Love that cover!
I'm halfway through this murder mystery told through podcast transcripts. I'm actually very intrigued and I think this is one of those that builds slowly. #crimefiction #thriller #currentread
I enjoyed this one! Read it pretty quickly, I really enjoyed the podcast format. I bet it would make a great audiobook.
🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars--listeners of Serial, here is a book for you. This is a book told in a series of fictional podcasts that investigate a cold case. Each chapter is a podcast that interviews one of the people involved in the unsolved murder. Great twists, good story--not great on character development as I didn't find myself connecting with or feeling empathy for the characters, but I don't think this is the point with this book. Highly recommend!

I had a slow start when beginning to read Six Stories and was worried it wasn't grabbing my attention as much as everyone raved about. However, once I got into it, I couldn't put it down! The podcast way of telling this story was unique. It was interesting watching the story unfold through the interviews from each character. A short book with a chilling premise. Definitely a book I'd recommend!
Started this one this week! Haven't been able to get too far because of grad school work but I'm anticipating it to be a good, fast read!
Finished this beauty yesterday! The story is told in the form of a podcast, utilizing 6 episodes to talk to 6 different people, with the end goal of trying to figure out what happened to a 15 year old boy who was found dead in the woods.

Though I had a pretty clear idea of who the killer was half way through, it was still an engrossing & intriguing read! Great for a palate cleanser or quick read between books!

Apparently I'm on a mini crime kick at present. Six Stories is told through a series of character interviews about events that may (or may not) have occurred twenty years earlier and adopts the structure of a true-crime podcast, like Serial.
