The Lost Hero
The Lost Hero: Heroes of Olympus Book 1 | Rick Riordan
Jason has a problem. He doesn't remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she's his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they're all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for "bad kids." What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea-except that everything seems very wrong.Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, and her vivid nightmares reveal that he's in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn't recognize her, and when a freak storm and strange creatures attack during a school field trip, she, Jason, and Leo are whisked away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood. What is going on? Leo has a way with tools. His new cabin at Camp Half-Blood is filled with them. Seriously, the place beats Wilderness School hands down, with its weapons training, monsters, and fine-looking girls. What's troubling is the curse everyone keeps talking about, and that a camper's gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist they are all-including Leo-related to a god. Rick Riordan, the best-selling author of the Percy Jackson series, pumps up the action and suspense in The Lost Hero, the first book in The Heroes of Olympus series. Fans of demi-gods, prophesies, and quests will be left breathless--and panting for Book Two.

The kids and I finished the original Percy Jackson first 5 books and moved on to this series, and wow-we loved it. I was trying to read aloud to 2 kids at 2 different places, and at times they got sick of me and just read ahead themselves, which was awesome - loved seeing them so into a book. Loved the multiple point of views ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I do love these book, trying to reread the whole series because one of my dnd groups is doing a summer shot of a pjo based campaign. I‘m quite excited about it honestly. Anyway these books are, as always character based action stories that I just adore. I particularly adore the focus on the differences between the Greek and Roman aspects in this series.

Unabridged Audiobook (9/10):
The fact that this book starts a new era within the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles so incredibly well is a testament to the brilliance behind Rick Riordan. He manages to craft a story that‘s connected to Percy Jackson, incorporating Roman mythology into the Greek we‘ve come to know, and establishing new characters to love.

Good book and interesting story. I bought this series and Percy Jackson in 2020 out of interest and a growing, young reader in my house. I mistakenly read this one—and then realized I should read the other series first! So I did and now I am coming back around for the Heroes of Olympus series. Enjoyable and easy reading.

Mr. Riordan, you are one in a million and I‘ve never met you but based on the sheer excitement I see in my scholars eyes let‘s me know your writing is nothing short of amazing. Thank you!!

Such a great start for a new series!!! And as Italian I loved all the Roman mythology 🦅🗡🏛 I'm really curious to see how Riordan will develop this aspect. I liked all the new characters (Leo is my favourite 💟) and it was good seeing some old friends.. can't wait to read the next one and find out what happened to Percy!

I started making collectible bookmarks for the tweens and teens at the library! 😃💕📚 Collect them all! 😁Each week will be be a different one which will all tie into a monthly theme - for example my display this month in the teen room is mythology, so each weekly bookmark will be Percy Jackson related! I don't know if the teens will like it, but I'm already enjoying the heck out of it! 📚 #librarylove #librariansoflitsy

I‘d already read this book once before for school but completely forgot about it and now that I‘ve read the Percy Jackson series, I can honestly say that I loved it. I also really enjoyed the cameos of characters we already knew as well as getting to know the new ones. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was an interesting read! I recognised the writing style of Percy Jackson and some characters made a come back, but besides that, it was a complete new story! Leo and his talents and humour grabbed my attention, Piper was way more than a beauty queen and Jason was so confused, but brave! The thing I didn't think was necessary, was that it took them all so long to trust, but that is all forgiven. Looking forward to the rest of this new series!

BooksChocolatesCoffees Leo and Piper were my favorites in this book :P Not Jason though, I don't like him that much 3y
Anoukeboek I get that! Although it must be so hard and confusing for Jason not to know who he is. But still, he could have been funnier haha 3y

I‘m glad I had a chance to reread this book. The first time I read it I was so upset to not see Percy or follow our original demigod friends, it distracted me too much to completely enjoy this book. This time around, I gained a new love for Jason, Piper and Leo. They‘re just as amazing and the story is as entertaining as our Percy Jackson series. Definitely loved this book.

This has the same amount of action and excitement mixed with comedy that were in the original series. I also really loved the characters we meet in this series. I really connected to both Leo and Piper and was really rooting for them to accomplish their goals and be happy. The ending was also phenomenal! That realization! That cliffhanger! I was so hype after I finished and excited to see what happens next in the series. Let‘s GOOOOO!!

The darker YA-style tone along with the shifting third-person perspective from each character worked really well. I'm thinking there are probably a lot of plot complexities and mysteries to figure out in the following books in the series. These are definitely a notch up in maturity level from the OG Percy Jackson series.

My first by Rick Riordan. I bought the five books in The Heroes of Olympus series from a friends recommendation. I really enjoyed this first book and read it rather quickly. It is fun to get to know the characters and I look forward to getting to know them better. The books make some outrageous leaps in timeline and other areas but then again it is a story of half human/half Greek god fighting against powerful enemies.

Trashcanman 🤗 thank you. 4y
Scochrane26 This series is good, but you may want to go back & read the Percy Jackson series. It might help you understand this one better. (edited) 4y
CRR @Scochrane26 That makes sense. I was starting to wonder why Percy was so important but never present. Thank you. 4y

I am actually reading now, but this captures more of the general porch vibe. Seemed like good timing to revisit Rick Riordan‘s heroes of Olympus, as a reminder that genuine allies among cisgender authors do exist, and write wonderful, inclusive, responsible YA fantasy.

Ahh I had forgotten how much fun Rick Riordan's books are. A strange boy appears at Camp Half-Blood and is sent on a quest with some other demigods to rescue Hera, Queen of the Gods. I love feeling like I'm learning while reading a super enjoyable story. 4⭐

I was at Goodwill where I found this book and decided, “What the heck, I‘ll give it a try.” The audience is met for a younger crowd, but it was entertaining. It wasn‘t until the end when I realized it was the first book of a second series. 😂. Looks like I‘ll need to back track a few books.

This was a satisfying continuation of the Percy Jackson books, although Percy himself does not make an appearance in this one. The new characters are delightful and sympathetic and it still delivers on being a roaring good adventure!

Well, that went fast! Definitely need the rest of the series now.

Jason gets caught up in a whirlwind of unbelievable occurrences: demigods, training camps, quests, imperiled gods. He‘s also suffering from extreme amnesia, but pieces start coming back. Will Jason be the greatest hero of them all, or will he lead his friends to failure and death?

Lol at my book choices. Thanks brother for ruining my life with Greek and now Roman gods. I can‘t even take it.
