😭Margie, thank you so much! You shouldn‘t have but I so appreciate it and it‘s made my day. We‘re getting snow later so the socks will definitely come in handy. I look forward to all three books. LOVE the Stephen King bookmark. And girl please, I‘ve been to the gym 23 times in January and gained 3lbs, mostly cause MickeyD‘s is right next door. Lol. So this candy is most welcome. Thank you so much, Margie! ❤️

1) I love it all. Autumn is my favorite season of the year. Changing leaves, cooler temperatures, pumpkin spiced food & drink plus spooky shit. What's not to love?
2) Hot chocolate & pumpkin spice.
3) So far it was going in late to work today because I went to the library to check out the tagged book & I went to Target to look at Halloween decorations.
4) Autumn & books. 🎃📚

Creepy YA read following a scientist and his assistant as they track down a creature who is feasting on human flesh.
This was great as an audiobook and really helped to take my mind off real life, so it was an excellent distraction. 😁 It had just enough creepiness and mystery to keep me entertained.

I don't really see this series ever being talked about, and that's a shame because it is really great. Though it is marketed as YA, I don't think it should have been, and maybe that's the problem. The Monstrumologist is a great series full of monster hunting and excellent prose. If you're looking for a good series to read this spooky season, I can't recommend it enough.
Decided to pull a book from my son‘s upcoming summer list going into his junior year. Bounced between audio and paperback. The style and mood carried well in both formats.

This book is creepy and gorey. Don‘t let the fact that this is a YA book lull you into a false sense of security. #AllHallowsRead

#stacks on Litsy! Books on the left are books I've added from all you lovely Littens, & on the right are just some of the books I have finished reading recently! I haven't reviewed every book - I'm trying to be selective & only post about books I truly ❤.

One of the many books from my earlier #BookOutlet haul; this one is blurbed as “A cross between Mary Shelley and Stephen King”. A young orphan and a doctor who specializes in ‘Monstrumology‘ are investigating monsters that are believed to be extinct in their part of the world after the body of a young girl and a body of that monster are found and brought to them. It sounds intriguing and might be a fun October read!🧟♂️ #bookhaul #tbr

My favorite YA author is Rick Yancey. I became a fan after reading his horror series that starts with The Monstrumologist. It‘s a horrific, gory thriller written in Dickensian prose! I absolutely LOVE it!! One of his favorite books is A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L‘Engle. I‘ve loved that book since I was a kid and still remember how captivated I was by the fascinating Murray kids and their adventures.

Like nothing you‘ve ever read. A unique book with deep characters and wild plot lines. You can‘t take your eyes off the pages.

Finished the first book in The Monstrumologist series and enjoyed it. It's pretty gory but I enjoyed the characters. Starting the second book today. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This series has been on my TBR forever so starting it today on #audiobook. #playster

4/5🌟🌟🌟🌟This Book📚was a lot of fun🙃. I definitely recommend it for adults😁& kids(10+)well 🤔 maybe kids that don‘t scare too easy & like monsters & gore lol😅. It was wonderful & apparently a series as well so I‘m looking forward to that for light-hearted🧟♂️🧛🏼♂️fun reading material to come☺️

😍A Baby Tush👶🏻🍼Book📖stand hmm 🤔 too cute to resist lol 😄💙🧡💚He was too captivated by 🦄Mother🍄Goose🦊to even notice ☺️❤️
This story is the perfect mixture of monsters, mystery, madness, thrills, chills, and gore—of both the violent and the pestilent varieties. Come for the creatures, stay for the story.

I have several, but this is definitely a #FavoriteSeries of mine. #SeptemberLibrary17

I know so many people love this book. I didn't completely dislike it, but I just wanted more from it. It took forever to get into the story and to start moving somewhere and I just wanted more suspense. I do, however, appreciate the style of writing that we don't see quite so often anymore. It was a different book, but not as scary as I thought it would be.

I listened to this audiobook on my commute at the same time my daughter was reading it. Thankfully she was ahead of me and knowing my queasy stomach warned me of a #graphic scene that would have made my commute horrible if I had not been prepared. Gross scene aside my daughter and I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it!

I don't know if this is my #FavoriteBookSeries, but it's definitely on the list. #ReadingWomenMonth
"For only a madman believes what every child knows to be true: there are monsters that lie in wait under our beds."

Leaning tower of library books is an excellent way to start the weekend.

I love the endpapers in the Monstrumologist series! They fit the theme of the books so well and they're so detailed.

#ReadJanuary #Day9 #ReadingEquipment I don't use an e-reader mostly because mine broke a couple years ago, and I've never replaced it, so my reading equipment includes snacks (I don't like coffee, so my drink is always a Diet Coke), my reading journal, and ALWAYS a pencil!

Just started today after being on my TBR pile for a very long time.

If you like monsters, history, horror, and Sherlock-like characters, this is definitely the book for you. And the later at night you read it, the better.

This book was so good. I was intrigued from the first page but I intentionally drew it out because I didn't want it to end. I really enjoyed every character.
I didn't expect the description for some scenes to be so descriptive that I could see it clearly in my head. Can't wait to read the second book and see what is going on with William Henry and the doctor.

This is def a #scaryread that needs more attention. If it weren't for Litsy user @CaitlinSiem I wouldn't have heard of this book. #AllHallowsRead

Excited to start reading this!

Hair raising, gory, and not for the feint of heart or soft stomached. An excellent monster book.
New England in the 1880's: a fantastic Victorian setting for this Lovecraft-meets-Stephen-King series. The main characters, Will Henry and the Doctor, were wonderful. I became quickly entrenched in their horrific little story.
Also, there was a great thread of snark woven into the story that was just enough and appeared in the best moments.

The writing is blowing me away just a tad. It's gorgeous.

This seems like a fitting book to read during my favorite month of the year!! #scaretober 🕷☠️
Got further in. 6% read and I'm kinda bored. Gonna read some more Suicide Squad for the witches slot in the bingo.
Starting this as a buddy read for Halloween bingo. Kinda into it so far.

My #recommendsday is Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey! This is a fantastic YA horror series where the big bad is always a monster; a beasty pulled from legends or folklore. I love a well done monster novel! The first book in this series was my introduction to YA horror. This book had my heart racing in certain chapters and there were a couple of sections that had me fanning myself (due to the blood and guts and gross). Love it!

Doing a little shopping stocking up for the @24in48 Readathon in a couple weeks!! So excited!! Walked away with The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey. Can't wait to read it!!
