Feeling grateful for all of my #litsy friends, my family, health, job, home, and life. Even though there are things I complain about and am angry about, I am grateful I am safe and am able to help make life better for others through my education and privilege. 💕 #grateful #givethanks

Sorry I haven‘t been able to update you all #LitsyLove crew. We finally have power/internet. We did have some damage but are very blessed. Many of my family members lost everything.

Words cannot describe what all your support has meant to me. I am so grateful to have found this amazing group. We aren‘t going back to school until Oct. 4 so I will have time to respond to those who have written prior to Ida. Sorry for the delay. #sograteful

MoonWitch94 I have been wondering how you‘re doing & sending prayers your way. So glad that you are okay & safe. 💞💞💞 3y

So, I reached this number last night.

A very big thanks to all of my wonderful Litsy friends for being there on my reading journey.
I am a "born again" reader, taking a 16 year break after having my first child in 2002.
My youngest all reached school age in 2018 so I was able to find some extra head space and time to read again and I discovered and joined Litsy in September.
What a wonderful world this is and I'm so happy to be a part of it.

NeedsMoreBooks Congratulations! 🍾🎉 4y
AnneCecilie Congrats 🎉 4y
MrsMalaprop Yay! 😊 I had my first child in 2002 too 🙌. I remember my sister telling me to forget about reading once I had kids & feeling determined that for me this would not be so. Welcome back to the coven 📚😍🤗😆. 4y
Centique That‘s a lovely journey back to books! Similarly, my reading fell off the cliff when I had my first child in 2004. I find that whole decade I hadnt heard of any of the popular books - it‘s like a hole in the map! 😂😂 Back into it again now though and I‘m also super glad to have found Litsy. 4y

#MarchMadness #gratitude

Catching up on yesterday‘s prompt. I thought of this cookbook & lifestyle guide from Cafe Gratitude. A small vegan restaurant in So.Cal. I have made a couple of the soups from it quite a while ago but since this post reminded me, I‘m going to pull it out & reacquaint myself. #cookbookhoarderproblems 😉

ImperfectCJ I went to their location in the Mission in SF several times years ago (I don't even know if it's still there). I have dietary restrictions, and it was one of the few places I could go and order anything on the menu...quite a treat! My favorite recipe from the cookbook is the chocolate mousse, but so many are tasty! 4y
Eggs Sounds yummy 😋 4y

Day 5 of #grateful21 ❤️
1. The gorgeous golden light over the reservoir (on my way to)
2. Book club (where there are)
3. People I can have an unpopular opinion around who listen respectfully and reply thoughtfully. (Educated: didn‘t like it but everyone else did).

JanuarieTimewalker13 That‘s a really hard question. There‘s so many books I‘m grateful for- both fiction and nonfiction. 5y
BeansPage @JanuarieTimewalker13 IKR? But I thought it would be fun to discuss 😊 5y
LapReader It lead me to discover a whole Australian art movement as well as many more books. 5y

wordzie The Bible 5y
Aussie4paws Excuse me your life is waiting..Lynn Grabhorn...life changing 🌟 5y
SweetAngst Kind of an obscure pick, but this book helped me leave a cripplingly oppressive religion with no regrets and that's pretty awesome :) 5y
BeansPage @LapReader that sounds interesting 😃 5y
BeansPage @Sophia1 😂😂😂 5y
BeansPage @wordzie how did this book make you thankful? Was it something you discovered? How did it help you? 5y
Nerdy_Bookworm The Bible 5y
BeansPage @aussie4paws how was this look life-changing for you? 5y
BeansPage @SweetAngst that does sound awesome! I'm happy for you sweetie. 🤗 5y
BeansPage @Nerdy_Bookworm why are you thankful for this book in particular? Did it help you in some way or another? 5y
tournevis I read it once a year. 5y
Aussie4paws It allows your to see what is in front your and be able to change the way you view your life..thus giving your more power over your life..it's easy to read and understand 5y
Nerdy_Bookworm @TheReadingMermaid It has helped me through moments where i was ready to give up and commit suicide. This book gave me so much hope that life has a meaning and is worth living. 5y
BeansPage @tournevis how did this book end up making you thankful? What exactly do you take away from it when you read it every year? 5y
BeansPage @aussie4paws I love books like that. It is like a rare view from somebody else's platform. I like that 😊 thank you so much for sharing with me sweetie 🤗 5y
BeansPage @Nerdy_Bookworm that is so incredible. I love hearing stories like yours. Thank you so much for sharing hun 🤗 5y
wordzie @TheReadingMermaid I read the Bible because I am thankful and there are may discoveries I make within the Bible, most of which have been previously made known by biblical scholars and theologians of the past and present. The Bible helps to make God's will and blessings known to mankind. 5y
BeansPage @wordzie that is awesome. If there's one thing I love about religious texts it's that you can read them over and over again and still discover new things. That is awesome sweetie. Thank you so much for sharing with me 🤗 5y
wordzie @TheReadingMermaid thx and thx for your post this was super 😎❤📚 5y
tournevis @TheReadingMermaid "Grateful" might be too spiritual a word, but I owe Nick Bantock one for this book. This book found me right at a time when I needed to find my creative self again. It is a book ostensibly about mourning the passing of a loved one, but it is just as much about finding the art inheritance of one's elders and influences within oneself. I read it once a year 5y
Eggbeater Any book that helps me escape chronic pain. Harry Potter comes to mind because those are my re-read/ comfort books when I am anxious. Also, Stephen King because I first learned to read with him and he held my little kid short attention span at the time. I was basically enthralled with It. 5y
SailorMoon "Phenomenology of Spirit" by G.W.F.Hegel. It's what opened my eyes on philosophy (we are talking about straight Fs on the subject back in high school before learning about this philosopher... and then I majored in Philosophy. Who would have guessed?! Not me!!!). As for the book I have the best memories of because of the time of my life when I was reading it... it would be the whole "Confessions of a Shopaholic" saga by Sophie Kinsella! ?? 5y
