It's always lovely to be back with these characters.
I wasn't super intrigued by the mystery in this book. But this was a comfort read for me and worked really well for that.

Day 19: grave/ cemetery. Ella Griffiths to the rescue, one of my fave authors and I live in Norfolk so always fun to read about places you know.
Delightful. Though I think I have more invested in following the lives of the main characters than the crime/mystery.
Also discovered this is not the authors “ real” name. She is Domenica de Rosa. She has published under that name also.
This Ruth Galloway novel was all kinds of complicated. The discovery of the skeletal remains of a woman imputed to be a baby killer, are discovered, and Ruth becomes part of a documentary debating the woman‘s guilt or innocence. This discovery hits too close to home for someone, however, and it seems that history may be repeating itself. All kinds of truths are revealed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book 6 in the Ruth Galloway series finds her excavating a body which appears to be that of a notorious 19th century child killer, while DI Nelson is investigating the mysterious death of a child. These books are an easy read with characters who I enjoy. You don't need to think too hard and while it is becoming a little formulaic plot wise there is usually a climactic ending which is enjoyable.
Another winner in this series. I am wondering if all the books will involve a child either kidnapped or murdered. Though I enjoy the books so much because of the characters not the mystery. The crime solving just added a little more to the books. 4.5 ⭐ Book 16 for #Scarathon2021 @Clwojick #TeamSlaughter #SpookOween #Necronomathon @Patchshank #Wickedathon @StayCurious #LittenListen @aperfectmjk #BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #SeriesRead2021
Unfortunately my memory of the events and backstory of the first book, which I read this time last year, is rather vague, so a lot of this book was lost on me. Atmosphere and characters are what this author does best. The actual events are rather forgettable.
I'm dithering between a pick and so-so.
Current reading view. I never get enough of this view!
Book 6 of the Ruth Galloway series. Ruth has to solve the mystery of the notorious Victorian childminder Mother Hook. Did she kill her charges or love them. This is one of the best so far. 4.5⭐
1. I love this series, which is best read in order, so I recommend the first one to everyone.
2. Inconsistently, but if I‘m going out of town I always do
3. 62 but it‘s going to be back close freezing again tonight
4. I don‘t really like weird foods so I can‘t think of anything
5. Hey everyone!

I flew through this, the 6th installment of the Dr. Ruth Galloway series. Just a rip-roaring good story. These books are consistently good, but this may be my favorite so far. I am trying to ration myself to one a month, so that I can savor them and not run through the series too quickly. Was the baby murdered? How does it tie in to the child abductions? And where does the subject of the archeological dig fit in? Engrossing.
Home improvements continue, as we went shopping for new carpet this afternoon. Picked it out and it‘s being installed next Tuesday. Yay! Hubby asked if I waiting stop at the library on the way home. Really?🤣
Waiting to be discharged all day and my sister in law (god love her I am truly blessed to have her in my life) had my little one. I heard a knock on the door thinking it was my surgeon and I see this little nugget instead. Instantly made my day. On a side note I'm almost done this book 😂
Glad I remembered to pack my book when all I thought I was having was an ultrasound... bye bye gall bladder. I won't miss you
Another excellent Dr Ruth Galloway story! Maybe I‘m dense, but I can‘t seem to figure out whodunnit in these books. That‘s rare (and exciting) for me!
And now I‘m starting the next one. I can‘t stop reading these, though I just have 7 & 8 left to read and then I‘m out! 😱
For those who‘ve read the series, who is your favorite character? I think mine is Cathbad. 🔮
This was a good read but a bit real at times as babies go missing. Always a scary idea. I do love these books though and look forward to the next one.
This is my view as I sit reading. Our lovely tree and it's winter friends. We like to go for lots of colour in this house. #view #seasonsreadings2017

1: Virgo
2: my girls both had brilliant parents evenings.
3: the fifty shades series. Just made it through book 1 but bailed on 2.
4: Not sure yet but will observe the silence with my girls.
This is one of my favorite mystery series, and this one was another pick for me. The way the modern case wove into Ruth's archeology case was clever and the additional element of the documentary was fun to read. I'm glad I still have a few more of these to read before I catch up on the full series.
Trying to read my book but Joey is demanding all my attention. Can't say no to that face ❤️❤️
I've been trying to pace myself through this series, but tonight is just so cool and dreary that I can't help but dive into this one!
Brilliant. Really beginning to worry I'll never find a series I like as much as this one 😬! Recommendations welcome! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went online and looked up the Lincoln Castle in England mentioned in the story: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Castle
