Expanding my RR universe into his Egyptian based series and I‘m really liking it so far! 2 siblings are surprise! descended from pharaohs and super powerful magicians. and bonus: are now being used as host bodies for ancient gods, so they‘re suuuperrr powerful rn, slayyy. They‘re funny, they‘re scared, they‘re arguing bc siblings. Still second to anything Percy is in BUT better than the Apollo series and learning about Egyptian gods is fun.

1. Depends on the book, really, and how the author manages the whole thing. I do like to write multiple povs in my fanfics so I'll go with that
2. It gives you a chance to get to know the characters better imho
3. I'm tagging The Kane Chronicles #1. The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. This series should get more love
@ozma.of.oz
I took a break from cleaning to finally finish my #reread of this one. I remember not liking this first one as much as the other two in the trilogy and I have to say that so far that hasn‘t changed. Hopefully the other two are better this time around too, because I have to say that this one is still very much meh.
Maybe I‘m biased towards the Greek gods, but this just wasn‘t as good as Percy Jackson IMO. I will read the rest of the series though so let‘s see if things get better!
Scored #bookspinbingo and points for #TeamHendrix a this was def supernatural in theme! #Scarathlon2021
We‘re currently suffering from a massive heatwave so today was a beach day. And of course I couldn‘t go without a book! I‘ve been slowly digging my way out of a reading slump so it was nice to get a little further in the tagged book.🏖 #beachreading
A fantastic book! Everything about it was great, and I don‘t want to say much or I will probably share way too many spoilers lol.
1️⃣ The Weasleys. Hands down.
2️⃣ Carter & Amy from Rick Riordan's Kane Chronicles. Their snark is lots of fun.

Playing a little of Neverwinter while listening to The Red Pyramid... still!

Bedtime... the best time of the day. It is my relaxing time by myself (when hubby is working). Its reading time for me.... Yay! Working on #AmongTheGods challenge for #TBRCrew group tonight.

Anyway, my dad trained me early to keep all my possessions in a single suitcase that fits in an airplane‘s overhead compartment. My dad packed the same way, except he was allowed an extra workbag for his archaeology tools. Rule number one: I was not allowed to look in his workbag. That‘s a rule I never broke until the day of the explosion.
Ok, Sadie is telling me to stop stalling and get on with the story. Fine. I guess it started in London, the night our father blew up the British Museum.
So thought I would at least try one of my challenges for #TBRCrew. Decided to go with the #AmongTheGods challenge. Honestly it was hard to find books that are fiction that deal with Egyptian Gods. 🤞🤞🤞 that this is a good book.
Anyone can join along with me in this challenge and all other challenges. Check out #TBRCrew hashtag for more info.

AMAZING! It even combines three of my favorite things: egypt, books, and magical powers.
So then why did I give it a so-so, you ask? Set is described as EVIL, and Set isn‘t evil. Sure, Set may be the god of chaos, but Set isn‘t EVIL. That made it hard for me to enjoy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

1: The one I‘ve tagged, plus Genesis, the first Wings of Fire book, and Howl‘s Moving Castle.
2: Wow. Um, it varies. Lately, you ask? Probably The Toymaker‘s Apprentice. I only just finished it and I‘ve already recommended it to THREE people.
3: I don‘t... use other social media. I mean, really. I spend my time online on here, on video game sites, and occasionally on chat rooms. But I don‘t use Facebook or anything
I am absolutely LOVING this book. I thought Percy Jackson was good, but this, it‘s amazing!
I won't say Harry Potter this time. 😉
Most people know of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. I love Percy, but I love his lesser-known Red Pyramid series (The Kane Chronicles, Egyptian mythology) even more.
Day 6 of #colormepretty is #warmcolors! I went with mostly red for this one, and I‘ve got to say, I have a good collection!
The book started off a little slow, but picked up and was just as enjoyable as Percy Jackson. I vaguely remember reading it when it first came out, but I can't remember the next books at all, so I'm looking forward to reading them. #juvenilefiction #mythology #Egypt
Overall I liked the book, but the format and structure took some getting used to.
One other thing is that Set was referred to as the God of Evil. He isn't. He's the God of Storms and the Desert. He was in character in the book as a chaotic God but being referred to as Lord of Evil threw me off a bit.
It's a bit nit picky, but I did affect my enjoyment of the story overall.
Final word, a pretty good book.
I was told this book was very boring but I actually found it pretty good.
I lived Sadie Kane's sassy character. She really brought life to the book. She was fierce, fiery and lovable all the same! And her love for others was as strong as ever.
Carter himself was alright. I feel we didn't get to know him that well
Anyway. I am eager to keep reading.

#currentreads so so many books!? But my mind is saying that I don‘t have a library so it‘s not enough reading
Uncle Rick‘s godly adventures never fail to get me out of reading slumps! Fast paced and fun. The Egyptian gods work differently than the Greek/Roman gods so it felt fresh as well.
Almost finished and I‘m loving it! I haven‘t been reading as much because I‘ve been painting the library the past few days and I just moved most of my bookcases back in.
Hmmm... this guy sounds really familiar. I wonder why that is.
20 minutes later... holy SHIT that's Kevin from Desert Bluffs and Night Vale.
Well f* that guy.
Challenge | Day 23
I didn‘t like it very much

I'm sorry for the bad pictures my cat is sleeping on my lap so I tried to do it without disturbing her.
1. I got the two cat bookends on the left(not the books on the left) from my mother-in-law and the books on the right from my husband(plus The Masked City, book 2 don't have book 1 and a few that I got early).
2. Staying home, reading, watching anime or movies and probably going to see Ferdinand
3. Peppermint bark and Chocolate orange

If you have read Percy Jackson, well this is basically the same. Godlings, dreams that really are happening, powers they didn't know they have, great power without proper training. I gave it 4 stars because 1) The ending redeemed the book, the last 3 chapters were really exciting and heart warming and 2) Rick RIordan always interests me with Greek and Egyptian mythology.
