#20in4 starts Friday!
I‘ve had a dismal reading month. This has just been a crazy & weirdly busy month that‘s flown by. Plus, it‘s the rainy season, which just makes me want to hibernate. I‘m off Friday - Tuesday, and so my goal is just to try to finish the tagged. It‘s the book I‘ve been reading since May 1. 😣 If I can finish it on Friday, then I aim to finish at least 1 more before Tuesday.
#thoughtfulthursday
1. Tagged! + relishing to several audiobook faves
2. Physical
3. It‘s an anthology of short stories. So far, overall I‘d give it 4 stars.
4. Not normally.
Thanks for the tag Danielle. Who hasn‘t played? Tag!
I love reading the dedications of books. And Neil Gaiman always writes delightful ones.
One week until #WyrdAndWonder begins! My countdown post this week shares my Wyrd And Wonder TBR. The tagged is one of them. Any guesses on the other 8?
Find all 9 titles of my Wyrd And Wonder TBR on my blog: http://wanderinglynn.com/2022/04/20/countdown-1-my-wyrd-wonder-tbr/
I almost didn‘t open this today because I thought opening day was tomorrow! 😆
Thank you Samantha! I love my #AllHallowsReadSwap box. I collect magnets—it goes perfectly with this box! These are fantastic editions. And I love all things Gaiman. 🖤🖤🖤
And thank you Chelle for hosting. 🧡🎃 I always love your swaps.
Eeeeeeeesh. What. A. *year*! And June-July were hard peaks. It feels like forever since I‘ve been able to sit down with a book!
Should I be doing work? Maybe... Will I, tonight? Not a chance...
Time for me, tea, and some selections by Neil Gaiman...
💁🏽♀️☕️📖
#LMPBC @MaleficentBookDragon @TK421 @Bklover @BethM I‘m sending this by Monday, regardless of whatever progress I make ☺️
Surprisingly, I got to finish this today. The tiny is sick so I stayed home from work. This was a strong anthology, there wasn‘t a single story that I disliked. There were 2 that I enjoyed more than the others, the cartographer wasps and the anarchist bees by E. Lily Yu, and Sunbird by Neil Gaiman.
410 pages—that‘s how many pages of this I have left to read. Not sure I‘ll get it read in the next days, but I‘m gonna give it a go anyway.
This months anthology buzzword: creatures/monsters. I‘ve had this book for a year or 2, so in the spirit of cutting down my tbr, this has to be my first anthology pick of the year. I‘ve read he first two stories and liked both, although the 2nd was better
Book: Unnatural Creatures Edited by Neil Gaiman
Author: Leon Uris
Movie: Unbreakable. I just rewatched this and Split to get ready for the upcoming sequel, Glass.
Food: Ubriaco Rosso Cheese. It's one of my favorites but too expensive to have on cheese and crackers night lol

Not sure how I ended up with so many anthologies!!! (Most of them are sci-fi and no one is shocked). At some point I think I will do a mini anthology read a thon and focus on them but May ((my birth month)) will be devoted to a Lunar Chronicles reread!
Thanks @jhod for my fab #halloweengoespostal picks! Really looking forward to reading these. Might try and get one of the short stories read tonight, being Halloween and all! 👻 @BookishMarginalia #fallbookexchange
For the prompt #authorsyouwouldliketomeet: Neil Gaiman. I'm not saying magic is real, but if it is, he totally understands how it works. #booksacrossoceans
Really enjoyed this collection of #shortfiction curated by Neil Gaiman. I'm reminded that I should read more of this format; it's so lovely to consume compact creations!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Favorite stories:
Sunbird (Neil Gaiman)
The Sage of Theare (Diana Wynne Jones)
The Cockatoucan; or Great-Aunt Willoughby (E. Nesbit)
The Flight of the Horse (Larry Niven)
The Smile on the Face (Nalo Hopkinson)
Come Lady Death (Peter S. Beagle)
I'm sitting upstairs, minding my own business, reading (obviously), when my husband comes upstairs & hands me this carton of ice cream. "CHEAPER THAN THERAPY" - indeed & I'm certain it'll be a lot more enjoyable than therapy! #ivedonealotoftherapy #lol ?#chocolatepeanutbutterisaheavenlycombo #idontlovesweetsbutidolovechocolatepeanutbutter #alsothefetushasasweettooth #yesimblamingthekid #ihaventeatensomanysweetssinceiwasakid #hashtagstorytelling
Short attention span this morning calls for #shortfiction. 🍞🍵 #bookandbreakfast #pregnancybrain #currentlyreading
Trump is making me not even want to be the same species as him right now. He really grinds my gears. So I decided to read something spooky an even un-human. Plus it's kind of raining and dreary here in Chicago so this is perfect. I just want to be taken into a totally different world. Here's Taz. I know it would be better if he was a black cat 😂😹The state of the human race is so depressing to me right now. Cats and creatures it is!! 🎃😻👽
This is actually my second #bookandbreakfast of the day, the first of which was followed by a nap. 😴 I feel like a hobbit, I eat so often these days, and I get almost as cranky as one when I'm not fed regularly. #pregnancyproblems
I'm enjoying this book. Its a quicker read than expected, always a plus IMO. I'll need to take a break to do a first aid/CPR course online in a while but hoping to finish it today nonetheless. #currentlyreading
#bookandbreakfast, super early edition thanks to the diblings 🐶🐶 who insist on being walked at 6 AM. 😩
I had planned to finish The Fireman while #downbythebay, but honestly just don't have the attention span right now, so I'm pleased that I brought this short story collection along with me. My head feels clearer this morning & my heart hurts less, which means reading should actually be an achievable activity today 📖🙌🏻

HPB Book haul! Didn't find any Pitticus Lore but I did come across a few treasures :) particularly here be monsters, the basis for the stop motion movie the box trolls
Really enjoyed this eclectic collection of short stories, although it took me ages to read to completion. Bit of a box of chocolates--some stories I just sampled, others I devoured, wishing there were more. A lovely way to be introduced to writers I'm not familiar with, and a great way to end my weekend. 🐲📚💞
Fabulous collection of short stories! Finished off the book this morning with a nice cup of winter white Earl Grey. It's hard to say what my favorite story was because they each are so special. I enjoyed the cartographer wasps and anarchist bees, I love bees :) A nice way to start 2017
Lunchtime reads. Had some delicious butternut apple soup. Devouring these beautiful stories 😍
Lunchtime reading! I get to escape into these beautiful stories. Neil Gaiman has picked amazing stories 😍 Loving every story I have read so far. Yummy leftover steak and roasted cauliflower!
Now I've read a few of #neilgaiman books none I would say I would make a favorite. I own this one and is on my extensive TBR list. I also have American Gods on my list which I haven't gotten to yet. Soon though, isn't that the readers dream? A never ending TBR!? 😂😂 #happybirthdaybro #lovemesomecreatures #aphotoadaynov16 #muchlove
Help! I need more dark and spooky books to get me through to Halloween! #needmorebooks #halloween #paranormal #horror #creepy #scary
Strange things happen when destiny is tampered with...
"I have a presentiment of doom upon me," said Augustus TwoFeathers McCoy that night, in a bed that was far too small for him, before he slept. "And I fear it shall come to us with barbecue sauce."
What a fun / odd pair to have matchy-matchy covers!
Same handletterer / designer of course 😊
Now I want to find more unexpected cover design connections on my shelves 📚💕
This is my favorite short story so far in Gaiman's collection.
