This has been on my tbr for awhile since I loved JA last series I thought I would give it a try. I give it a solid 3.5⭐️ I think I will keep reading the series
Read 2 whole books for #awesomeaugust #readathon
Definitely met my goal 😁📚
This was my first read by Jennifer L. Armentrout, so I was not sure what to expect. A teenager is able to see ghosts and spirits. She is protected from demons by a shapeshifter. I liked the action but was not interested in the fact that the love scenes seemed more important than the actual plot.
Thank you @kimmypete1 I really enjoyed this book and will definitely get the second book … enjoyable read 🤗📖
Thank you… thank you @kimmypete1 for the wonderful books and Reese‘s hearts love it had such a great time picking things out for my swap and receiving my box loved this swap… looking forward to more of your swaps … so happy to get these two books can‘t wait to read them 🤗📖 #SwoonathonSwap
I loved this book. I really enjoyed reading the original Dark Elements series and this being a continuation of the story is very well done. It‘s great seeing the original characters from the outside perspective of Trinity and while there‘s definitely elements of romance it doesn‘t take away from the main plot. I love the modern take on angels and demons living amongst us and the setting of D.C. is a fun twist from typical fantasy worlds
My first Armentrout did not disappointed. I didn't realize this was a spin-off to a previous series, That didn't impact it's ability to stand alone it is clear that there will be a sequel, yet the ending was satisfying. There was a perfect mix of action, suspense, and romance. Which other of her books should I read next?
🎧 I like this author‘s writing BUT this is definitely YA so you‘ve been warned 😈
18YO Trinity can talk with ghosts. She‘s extra special & has been in hiding for years in an isolated compound protected by Wardens (gargoyle shape-shifters who protect us from demons).
Zayne is a Warden from another clan that shows up at Trinity‘s compound with news that something is killing Wardens & demons.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👇🏻
I loved the concept of this book; a lot of angels vs. demons with gargoyles that shift to humans. The main character is probably one of my favorites and felt super relatable to me. Down side is that the book didn‘t really seem to pick up very fast and some of the character relationships felt forced. Interested to see where the next book goes, though!
Enjoyed the premise of this book. Gargoyles who can shift into human form and who protect humans from Demons. The characters are interesting and although the romance is YA, the tension between the love interests is enough to keep me reading. I look forward to the next book.
Shameles picture of 2 of my 4 cats as I forgot to take a picture.of this book. Willie Nelson and Gus were my "helpers" tonight while I worked on some #litsylove correspondence
I enjoyed this YA urban fantasy/romance featuring Trinity, an 18 yo half human, half angel who is raised/trained to save the world from demons. Aiding and watching over her is Zayne, a Warden (shapeshifter charged with protecting humans from demons). There‘s betrayal, lots of interesting characters (love Peanut the ghost) and dastardly demons. Enjoyed so much I‘m moving on to the second in series. 4/5⭐️
Thanks for the tag @Crazeedi 😊
1. Hopefully getting started on some journaling...I‘ve been procrastinating. The story of my life...🙄
2. A Wicked Conceit by Anna Lee Huber (next up in the Lady Darby series).
3. Winnie the Pooh...such a wise little bear. 🧡💛🧡💛

Feel free to play and share! 😊
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed Storm and Fury and I think that‘s because I read the Dark Elements series first and got a taste of the world before. The world kept getting built with this book on seeing more of the Wardens aspect. There was a lot of humor and banter in this book. The characters were amazing. Then, the plot twist at the end was an oh my gosh moment. Highly recommend.

I now own my own gargoyle! I loved this book. I loved the storyline. I loved the mystery and the tension and the twist. I loved it.

However, this book fell just shy of absolute perfection because the proofreader missed a few things. Maybe it‘s just the copies put out by BOTM but there were some things I definitely stumbled over. With that said, I will absolutely, positively read the sequel and cannot wait to see where this story continues!
I really enjoyed The Dark Elements series, especially Zayne. So I was very excited for Trinity and Zayne's series (not necessary to read TDE books, but you should). I saved the book for a time I'd need something distracting, and a pandemic turns out to be the right time to treat myself!
My current #audiobook. Off today, about to do a quick grocery run. Parking lot is full as hell. Argh.
#currentlyreading and I‘m so hooked! I haven‘t read a mild fantasy book for ages, and this is perfect to get me back into them!! 💘 #bookabuy
With her special ability to communicate with ghosts and spirits, Trinity Marrow must be protected by gargoyle shape-shifters. However, news soon arrives about a danger that threatens Trinity‘s safety. In a whirlwind of action, flirty banter, dramatic twists, and fascinating world-building, the subsequent story unfolds, and it is a whole lot of fun.
(I received a free copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.)
I loved this book. It was just what I needed at this particular moment. I had no idea what it was about going into it so that was fun. The only draw back I had was that in reading/listening I pictured a fictional world and it really bothered me that this was all supposed to be taking place in New York. Not a fan of that. Other than that I loved it. I did a combo of audio and reading. Also didn‘t realize it was the start of a series. 4.5 🌟
This is tough for me to mark as so-so, as I enjoyed the MC‘s voice, the characters, and the dialogue. However, the plot just didn‘t grip me for some reason and I found myself eager to finish the book, yet it felt like it was slogging. Second book finished in #24in48
#24in48 checkin!
1 Book finished
Another a bit over 50% finished
(The one at 50% is around 500 pages & I ended up getting sidetracked and polishing off ‘Antigoddess‘ cover-to-cover).
While I‘m making great time, I don‘t know if I‘m a slow reader, or if I read long books 😂
5⭐'s. Loved it! Trinity and Zayne were so amazing together! It makes me hope that Layla and Zayne will be able to reconcile their friendship, though. I'm so excited to see what happens next in this series
I liked Trinity's unique abilities and challenges. This book has some great original ideas. It has more romance in it than I'm accustomed to, and the male lead is too possessive and broody, but I could not stop reading. As with Armentrout's other novels, her characters snort too much.
I enjoyed meeting this author and hearing her personal experience with a progressive visual disability and how she incorporated those experiences into her book.
This was a terrific book. I didn‘t realize until the authors note that this was set in the same world as some of her other books. I look forward to going back and reading those. I really liked Trinity as a character. She had lots of dimension and I loved learning more about her and her abilities. I am looking forward to reading more about her hopefully in future books.
A new type of book and new author for me. Really enjoyed this one. Looking forward to book 2.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
A little outdoor reading. Kept having wasps fly by so I had to cut it short 😂
My first book by this author. Only a chapter in because I have to get ready for work. ☹️
I never expected a return to this series, but I really enjoyed it. It expands and enriches the previous world-building. I do wish I‘d re-read the preceding book to remind myself of previous plot points. This book brings back all my favorite characters, but never detracts from the main.
Throughout this series, I‘ve had some doubts about how purity/souls/auras are presented. But I think there might be a more satisfying reveal coming in future books.
@petersonks15
The storm didn‘t pass us by so I took this picture for you.
Took 6 shots and Joshs hand to get this. The storms cause my windows to fog between the panes (old house) so I had to do the front door.
Lots of flash flooding but we are fine. You could almost swim in part of my yard, but the house is good. 🏊♀️
I had this awesome idea to take a pic of this book with the storms they‘ve been predicting in the background, except we got NONE of the storms, just a light rain last night. 🙄
My cousin and her family are visiting this weekend so I‘ve been busy around the house so I haven‘t had much time to read, but I‘m settling in for the evening and can‘t wait to see what happens.
“Enter a world of gargoyle protectors, rising demons and one girl with an explosive secret.”
I‘m giving away a copy of this book over on the blog: http://bit.ly/2KqtgzI (US only; ends 6/20) #giveaway
After reading the Lux series, The Darkest Star and now Storm & Fury, Jennifer Armentrout has become an autobuy author for me. She has just the right blend of sassy, endearing, cinnamon role and plot twists; this book is no different…and now I am stuck waiting for book two of this series AND The Darkest Star. Well done Ms. Armentrout, well done.
Hummmmmm. Look what I now have 2 of. I guess that means I should give one away. So, someone from my #BBRC will won my second copy on July 1 when the challenge starts. Don‘t know what I‘m talking about, it‘s a reading challenge. Check out the tag for more info.
Ahhhhhhhh. The publisher sent me a final copy!!! After they sent a galley. The galley went to RFS so that means this copy is all mine !!!!
Thank you thank you thank you Ink Yard Press!!!!
A little bedtime reading. Got to meet Armentrout yesterday and she was amazing to listen to and meet.
Happy Saturday Littens!
I was woken up illegally early this morning so I got a few chores started and decided to laze in bed for a bit with coffee, a book and a little Ru Paul.

"Yearning blossomed inside me. Like a flower seeking sun and water, it spread its roots deep." I'm sorry. I just threw up in my mouth a little. The writing style was quite plain for such a seasoned writer, and not only had I expected much better, but she chose to take risks with sentences such as above. The first half of this book struggled with no direction and felt like a chore.
