So i have not yet read her books- but she is opening a Romance bookstore around the block from my office! And lives in Martinsburg!? How did i not know any of this? Any recommendations of what i should read first?

I absolutely loved rereading this book! That being said, I know this book won't be for everyone. It was written over a decade ago, and they just re-released it with a pretty new cover! It reads very much like YA literature from the early 2000's. Aka - it feels very Twilight -y. 🤣😂 Now personally, for me, I am all about that vibe! It makes me super nostalgic and happy! So if that is also your vibe, I think you will love this book too! 💕📚

I read the first edition of this book in an ebook format when it first came out about a decade ago. They are re-releasing the series, in beautiful new hardback editions, so of course I had to splurge and pick it up! I don't even really remember much about it, so it's been fun to revisit it! 💕📚

I just adore this series. Sometimes, when my mood is completely ruined, I just take one of the books in my hands and begin reading.
What keeps me coming back to them? I don't know. The characters, the plot, relationships... they just make me feel good.
If you haven't read these books yet, you should really give them a try.

Another Armentrout series I love for this letter!

Another book off the TBR shelf. I don‘t know what it is about Armentrout books. I don‘t think they are that great and you can see her writing style and pattern are similar in almost all her books but I can‘t stop reading them. She‘s a fan of “not like other girls, bad boys that call you a nickname you hate but actually love and that insta love” I think they are ridiculous but fun. Gonna see where this goes with book 2.

Like watching a fun movie, reminiscent a bit of Twilight. Daemon and Katy‘s interactions are rife with good tension, though there‘s nothing much deeper going on.

I truly enjoy this authors world building but wasn‘t sure if I‘d like this series…yeah I‘m hooked. Slow burn romance with engaging characters. Off to download the rest of the series.

Late but I made it. This series is another I want to get to soon. The covers aren‘t my favorite but I also don‘t like the newer ones lol!
I‘m trying to reacquaint myself with my TBR while on a book buying ban for the month.

Felt too much like Twilight for my liking by substituting vampires with aliens. I love a great enemies to lovers romance but Katy‘s feelings are very clear & I was so bored.

I liked the ending of this book, but the majority felt very angsty.

I wasn‘t a fan of the love interest as he was very hot and cold, and a huge portion of the book was the aliens being evasive and making the MC believe she was seeing things.

Overall it was pretty good. I don‘t think I will be continuing with this series though!

End of day 2 for me.

I have finished the last two issues of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and read a decent chunk of Obsidian. 2 hours 20 minutes of #CYOReadathon and #Screamathon reading today (counting points for 2 hours and carrying 20min over to tomorrow :) ) for 40 extra points plus 1 for participation.

I am liking this so far, but I am 25% through and not much has happened besides the aliens next door being infuriatingly cryptic! Let‘s get some paranormal stuff happening other than unanticipated storms...

The main character seems nice though. She really likes books, and also reviews them on a blog. Something many Littens can relate to I imagine 😋

This book was so good, I've just ordered the second one! The characters are so well developed, the banter and slow burn romance was so cute, and the friendships are literally goals. I loved the whole creepy yet humourous atmosphere of this book, and I really liked the main character, Katy. I loved the storyline and the plot, which went at a pretty fast pace, and I loved Daemon Black. 💚 Such a good yet easy read!

Katy moves from Florida to West Virginia. Once in West Virginia, she meets a set of twins who live right next door to her. However, there is something different about them and quite not human.
I really enjoyed Obsidian and how fast paced it was. I devoured it within a day because it was that good. I loved the slow burn romance too.

Not a huge page turner for me, but I‘m vested enough in Katy and Daemon to follow them on their journey so will continue on in this series. Perfect for lovers of Twilight, I‘d day this is a PG-13 read

Ha, this is a quote from the beginning of Obsidian, which I just finished listening to. I enjoyed the book.
To me, it was a quick, light listen. The reader was good in her voices of characters, I just thought she made the dialogue sound much more sarcastic a lot more than I would have reading an actual copy of the book myself. More in comments...

This book completely exceeded my expectations. It‘s filled with enough suspense, romance and paranormal activity that I could not put it down.

“Obsidian” by Jennifer L. Armentrout was a darkly romantic twist on forbidden love and friendship.

Although predictable, “Obsidian” captivated me from the first page. This steamy sci-fi romance made me fall in love with Daemon, and at the same time made me hate him.

I recommend this book to lovers of YA and romance.
