Second book in the series. Still enjoying it so far. I‘ll have to pick up the next one from the library. I like the easy read after a long work day

My daughter & I finished Book 2 in April. She said this one is her favorite book so far (& keeps asking if Tyson will show up in the next books). Probably my favorite thing is to have a story centered around a main character with ADHD (& Dyslexia). All my kids have ADHD, so it‘s so great for them to hear a story about a character that has struggles like they do. Representation of disabilities matters. #bookspin

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage If you‘re interested, Tyson shows up in this one too 6mo

Listening to something easy on my audiowalk tonight. Last weekend I was wearing fleece and now there are buttercups. Made me smile after a long week.

CatLass007 Buttercups are so precious. I‘m not usually a fan of yellow, but how can you not like a buttercup? 7mo

Fun follow up to first book {I am reading the series this year}. You know the drill. Greek myths reimagined and retold YA style. No romance which I appreciate. Overarching story line in the series so far but each book stands alone.

A friend recommended the second series. I am hoping not to get sucked into the universe... too many books to follow but so far it looks like a possibility

thereadingpal I don't want to make spoilers but maybe you won't appreciate the following books much by what you've stated. I do love them. I have a soft spot for them and I have all Italian first editions, but I know they have flaws lol 7mo

I loved this book! It‘s even better than the previous one, and I really hope this saga only gets better and better. It had me laughing, and gasping, and passing the pages not wanting to stop. In fact, when I wasn‘t reading, I was thinking that I wanted to go back to it! I love when a book does that.

This was a reading challenge read and I have to say it was clever and funny and full of heart and educational all at the same time. Although written for kids this is another series I feel adults would find entertaining as well.

Percy‘s best friend is missing and he must embark on a quest to save him. Camp-Half Blood is at risk and he must steal The Golden Fleece from a Cyclops. Percy has to choose between his friend or the world. If you like books that focus on character interactions and relationships then you‘ll love the second entry in a great series.

I love the book! It's better detailed than the film was. I love how Percy has a lot of character development and learns to love his "imperfect" new friend!

Another pick for the series. Once again I never read these as a young kid and decided to pick them up for easy reading and have been enjoying the lighter take on some epic adventures! Ended on a surprising note so onward to book three!

I finished the second Percy Jackson book yesterday - another wild and slightly ridiculous romp of an adventure. I appreciate that this is a self-contained story but still builds towards what is obviously going to be the grand finale at the end of the series. These aren't my new favorite books, but I am enjoying them.

Love that this question was proposed in this book. The irony that it‘s asked by the god Hermes to question if his true story needed a lesson to come from it makes it even better.

Libby1 Great series. I think this book was my favourite. 3y

One of my favorite things about Rick Riordan‘s style is how he sprinkles humorous lines throughout the novel. It helps break up all the action and impending-doom-of-the-world plot lines. I remember as a kid thinking these books were funny, too. Maybe it‘s because I cry a lot, but I appreciate a book that can make me laugh out loud while reading more than one that has me crying.

⭐️3.7/5

THE SEA OF MONSTERS is the second book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. You‘ll hear me say it over and over, but the voice in these books is engaging, witty and perfect for an action packed Middle Grade book. Not as great as the first book, but still had great character development and I love all the obscure mythology Riordan brings in.

mavey Titan's Curse is so much better! Riordan is known for his Third Book Thunder! Do try it!💕 3y
CollapsingLibrary @Mavey I finished the third one yesterday and its my favorite so far! I read all of these so many years ago that it feels like my first time all over again. 3y

Another book, another side kick. I loved Tyson, though! I also like how the relationship between Percy and Annabeth is settling. The Bermuda triangle - Sea of Monsters-link is very well thought of. Overall, I am amazed by the way Greek Mythology is coming out as American culture. The connections are marvellous. I almost feel like a halfblood myself!

I'm still reading this book and wow, it's really detailed and I can picture whats happening in my head, oops, let's start at the beginning. My sister got a box of Percy Jackson books and she said that they were very interesting and they were about 3 people who are always on dangerous quests. This book (so far) is about the three friends, on a quest to find something called the golden fleece.

2105174@school.ecsd.net i wasn't able to finish the review so i'll just put it here.

They need the golden fleece because the shield on the camp is wearing out, which means it isn't safe for ANYONE. Percy, Anabeth and Grover go on all sorts of different quests but this time there is another person coming along with them. Tyson, Percy Jackson's cyclopes brother.

In this book Percy Jackson was just living his normal life with his normal mom but him on the other hand is a demigod which means he is half god and half human. Anyway, he is just about to get through the last day of school when something goes terribly wrong.
I think this is a great book to read and would recommend this book to any fantasy readers that enjoy a great book.

Families are messy. Immortal families are eternally messy. Sometimes the best we can do is to remind each other that we're related for better or for worse...and try to keep the maiming and killing to a minimum..

This is a good addition to the Percy Jackson series with the main storyline echoing that of Jason and the Argonauts. Having just listened to Fry‘s retelling in Mythos, I can appreciate the similarities and enjoy the way Riordan weaves the traditional myths and the modern day story together. Again, both girls found this enjoyable.

Freja and Butcher listening to Percy Jackson (I‘m reading it to them - well mostly Freja). This was a couple of days ago, but we only have one chapter left! I‘m thinking our next read aloud will be classic Nancy Drew, which I desperately want her to love as much as I do. I‘m excited to finish this one tomorrow!

Solid follow-up to The Lightning Thief. Once again, Percy and friends (old and new) decipher the oracle's message, go on a quest, and (temporarily, at least) save the day.
