"Welcome, neighbor!"Julie Prentice and her family move across the country to the idyllic Mount Adams district of Cincinnati, hoping to evade the stalker who s been terrorizing them ever since the publication of her bestselling novel, "The Murder Game." Since Julie doesn t know anyone in her new town, when she meets her neighbor John Dunbar, their instant connection brings measured hope for a new beginning. But she never imagines that a simple, benign conversation with him could set her life spinning so far off course."We know where you live. "After a series of misunderstandings, Julie and her family become the target of increasingly unsettling harassment. Has Julie s stalker found her, or are her neighbors out to get her, too? As tension in the neighborhood rises, new friends turn into enemies, and the results are deadly."

Didn‘t think I would finish this today, but I did. My #bookspin for April. @TheAromaofBooks
I‘ve met this author twice at a book fair a few yrs ago & really liked her. I read Hidden but never got around to Fractured. This is a story told by 2 characters, covering 12 months. A lot of secrets are revealed but not all of them. Leaves you thinking about several characters & their responsibility in what happened.

#FierceFeb #IthinkImparanoid. The Mc in here is a writer who moved her family to a new neighborhood to get away from a stalker. However, after a few unresolved incidents she‘s not sure if the stalker has found her again or if it‘s the 🦇 💩 crazy neighborhood association members that she has to worry about.

batsy 😂 I love how both 🦇 and 💩 look happy. This sounds like a good read, I see that you gave it a pick 👍🏽 7y

Julie, an author of a bestseller, and her family move to a new suburb trying to escape a stalker, only to find out their new neighbors are from hell. McKenzie writes scenes of heat and such buildup so well, but I felt I was left feeling a little flat. Someone dies, and when I found out who and how, all I could think was "tall guy at the bar?!!!!!! All this build up was for tall guy at the bar?!!!! He was nobody!!!" Lol, still... a pick.

Cinfhen Love your review ?and I'm always weary of the "tall guy from the bar" ? 8y

Fractured is a mystery/thriller told from the viewpoints of John and his new neighbor, Julie. It‘s also told in different time frames, alternating between the past and the present. Character development is pretty minimal, the focus is on the mystery, which keeps you guessing until the very end. I liked this book well enough, but I didn‘t love it. Many parts of it just didn‘t seem realistic to me. A decent book but not a full 4 stars in my opinion.

I did a combo of audiobook and Kindle on this one, and it was a really fun read. It's one of those books that switches between the present and the recent past. The reader knows something bad had happened but not what. The tension in the book was well paced, and I wanted to get to the end of the story. The narrators were both good.

Not bad but a bit anti-climatic

I got this book because the reviews were saying it was one you couldn't put down. I found it well written and a good book to listen to while I was doing some end of year cleaning. It just didn't have the dramatic pull or stunning climax that make a book a page turner. It is a solid story but nothing that I couldn't put down or thought about when I wasn't listening to it.

Pretty excited about this. 🙄🤔😃 Just finished Fractured, which is about an author named Julie Apple who wrote a book called The Murder Game, loosely based on the death of her friend. Because of this book, she attracts a stalker and moves away, which propels the plot of Fractured. So Catherine McKenzie broke through the 4th wall and wrote the book which is referred to throughout Fractured. My brain just exploded in happiness! Thanks Litsy! 😊

Halfway, so far so good. Julie, the writer of a murder game book, gains a stalker. So she moves with her family to a distant idyllic neighborhood. John, a married, out of work neighbor, is a little too interested in Julie. Julie is a ? You know there is a death in her past...and there are hints of a death in the future but the best part for me: instead of apprehension over who might die, I am hoping one annoying character bites it. 😉😈😳😂😇

This was an entertaining reading experience. The story goes back and forth in time and told from two different character's perspectives. You know something has happened right from the beginning but the author did a great job of keeping me turning the pages and I had no clue of what had actually happened until the very end of the book. Grab a glass of wine and your favorite snack and curl up with this one this weekend! 📚👍

This is a great read for anyone who enjoyed Everything I Never Told You, or Big Little Lies. A literary mystery(ish) which takes the reader through the events leading up to, and the legal action taken after a tragic event involving the inhabitants of a small neighborhood in Cincinnati occurs. Was that a run-on? So tired 😴💤💤💤

Only the second book I've finished within 24 hours since babe arrived half a year ago 😁 This fast reading mystery jumps back and forth in time from the perspective of two neighbors as what transpired is slowly revealed. Full of suburban drama and angst with pacing that reminds me of Big Little Liars. FRACTURED is the first book of Catherine McKenzie's that I've read. It is so darn good that I want to read every book she's published. In FRACTURED, the pacing is spot-on for a psychological thriller where the plot kept me guessing until the end. Each character is wonderfully developed and easy to connect with, despite their flaws. A perfect page turner that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

I really enjoyed this book. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat for the last 40% of the book. The beginning took a bit to get moving, but sticking with the story was very rewarding as the pace picked up at the half way point of the book. I was questioning who and what was going on all the way to the end of the story. A solid 4 🌟🌟🌟🌟 read. Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book.

Finished this one during my lunch break. It took me a while to get into this book, but by half way I was consumed. The author writes dialogue so well and there are moments of seriousness. What does it mean to be watched and for those observations to be what defines who you are? What does it mean to let someone into our lives and should we guard ourselves more when letting other people in? Shouldn't we all be more careful with our ❤️ ?

I was reminded of two books while reading this, Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty and The Drowning Girls by Paula Treick DeBoard. This book consumed me in the same manner as the other two and despite having a busy schedule I still managed to finish it in a day, I just had to know how it would all end and what event could possibly effect the lives of so many people. It was a page turning, tightly wound narrative dripping with tension.
