pickI randomly picked The Uninvited to start 2022 off. I thought it was going to be a creepy book but boy was I wrong! I loved the writing and how the author brought everything together. I usually try to figure out where the story is going but I honestly didn't expect the things that were revealed. Looking back it all made sense but it was so well done. The story was fantastic and it really felt like you could so vividly picture what was happening.

pickThis book was absolutely phenomenal! It had the perfect balance of history, romance and a paranormal aspect. The plot was so well written, I loved all the historical elements with the war and influenza, even if it was very similar to current events, and I really enjoyed how this book covered themes on racism and discrimination. The romance was so good and I didn't expect any of the plot twists they were so unexpected but amazing! I loved this book

I'm trying to finish Different Seasons. I was surprised by how much I liked The Shawshank Redemption but Apt Pupil is so disturbing. I'm having a hard time with it.

Well, let's try this again. Read 1/3 of it before November took me over. Wasn't really engaged, but see what happens now.

bailedThis book is so dull which is such a disappointment because the premise is great. I gave it 190 pages and half of those pages are descriptions of Ivy walking in the street, driving around, berating her one-dimensional Red Cross friends for not knowing how to drive, being afraid of Daniel or sleeping with Daniel even though they've barely spoken worth to each other. And where the hell are the ghosts!? There's been like 5 sentences about ghosts.
Ok....this is kind of boring. Do I push on? I am just having such a hard time getting into anything lately.
I'm a sucker for anything ghost. Bought this a while back and hitching to getting to it.
Do you know any other ghost stories worth reading? Historical setting a plus ;)

pickThis is the only Uninvited book I could find to tag this review. The book is by Mike Evans. The beginning of this audio book is hysterical. The hillbilly accents are epic! Lol

pickHaunting, atmospheric, beautifully written - I enjoyed my second Cat Winters read. I was completely caught up in Ivy's story, and what happens to her and to the place she loves and people she cares for.
