Decent fast-paced thriller that keeps you guessing but if you are one who likes a believable story than this is not for you. It didn‘t have an earth shattering ending but was good story to take my mind off another crap week at work 😒Books are my absolute escape!!

Book 21 of 2021. This was a really good mystery/thriller. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

At first I wasn‘t so sure about this book, but then things took a turn and damn did it draw me in!!

An elite all-girls boarding school, a new student with a mysterious (possibly sinister) past, and lots and lots of secrets. I thought this was an entertaining roller coaster of a ride!

Backstabby all girls boarding school? ☑️ mysterious main character ? ☑️ unexplained deaths? ☑️ secret passageways and secret societies? ☑️ This book is right up my thriller/ unreliable narrator alley

I really enjoyed this one, despite being a bit disappointed by the direction it went. It was quick paced, tensely plotted, and kept my mind racing with thoughts about what must really be going on. Recommended for readers looking for a twisty thriller. Not recommended for readers who want a completely believable tale.

Interesting story about a British student coming to a very exclusive school in Virginia. There are many secrets at this all girls school. Many of them belonging to her.

Didn‘t read much yesterday, but I did spend some quality time with my family. We watched the new Jumanji, ate cake, and just chatted about anything and everything. I will be reading quite a bit today (🤞🏻) because I‘m curious to see how everything unfolds in this book. #24b4Monday

While this was definitely a page turner, there were definite spots where I think the writing lacked. But it was an easy read and I did enjoy it.

An absolutely absorbing read. The boarding school setting has always been one of my favorites. Set in the mountains at an all-girls boarding school for the elite children of powerful socialites and politicians, this book did not disappoint. Throw in secret societies, mysterious deaths, a suspicious narrator, and this one could not be any more fun to devour.

Did a 24 hour tv and electronics ‘fast‘. I didn‘t realize how much I‘ve been enjoying this book until I couldn‘t read it! I‘m thinking I have it somewhat figured out but Ellison does tend to do what you don‘t expect. Jumping right in now that I can use my Kindle again! 😛

I don‘t like to tell much about a book in a review because it ruins it for others, so I will just say this: Girls boarding school, rich and powerful girls, haunted tunnels, secret societies and murder. What else do you need in a book?

So tired. I‘ve had a job interview that started at 9:00 and finished at 4:00. Going to wind down with this one.

This has so many elements, first of all this takes place in a boarding school, and who doesn‘t love that setting. It has a rich British girl attending this school for the first time in Virginia. Oh and by the way everyone seems to die around her.

This book is action-packed and sure to keep you up past your bedtime, muttering the mantra “Just one more chapter, just one more.” You are kept guessing to the very end.

This propulsive character driven novel is well-sculpted and sublimely atmospheric—the setting was absolute perfection! What is it about boarding schools that is so intriguing? The writing is hypnotic, detailed and consuming. The solid narrative is framed by equally strong characters. Good Girls Lie is devious and delightful with plenty of back-stabbing, double-crossing, and plot twists. Ellison will have her readers engaged until the last page.

Another slightly delayed post- now that our winter blankets are on the bed, finishing a book there means I have to wait until morning!🤣 Thanks, #NetGalley, for the chance to read this boarding school thriller! This is a bit of a new direction for Ellison & I definitely enjoyed it! It‘s not my favorite of hers but the twists kept my attention- I had some right guesses & a few total shocks. 3.5 Stars The story kept me engaged, and I read it on a weekend. There were aspects, especially towards the end of the novel, that felt rushed and definitely “told rather than shown.“ I appreciated the author's note that explained the real-life inspirations. Overall, I'm still a fan of Ellison and look forward to reading more.
