CatLass007 I‘ve always favored the Batman comics. I stopped watching the movies because there can only be so many origin stories for one character. I enjoyed Michael Keaton‘s appearances as Batman. I‘ve never been a fan of Val Kilmer, and I thought George Clooney was a good Bruce Wayne but his Batman was still Bruce Wayne. I liked Christian Bale in Empire of the Sun because it was a great movie based on a great book. His Batman was okay (cont)⬇️ 5d

CatLass007 but he couldn‘t hold a candle to Heath Ledger so he kind of faded into the background. And I haven‘t seen any movie featuring Batman since that. But I definitely think this a defining quote for Batman. Batman is a dark character but he‘s the real person. Bruce Wayne the playboy is the secret identity, not the real person at all. 5d

AnnCrystal @CatLass007 correct, Christian Bale. The first one of the trilogy. Just the first one. The novelization and the movie have become my favorite take on the story so far.

The Batman (2022) stars Robert Pattinson. There were some gorgeous “Batman“ scenes, yet I found the movie difficult to watch for some reason. I think it was the Pandemic, and the ongoing widespread crime in real life that made Gotham feel all too real, except we don't have Batman. 4d

For some reason, I would never watch an animated version of Batman. Strange, I love animation. Yet Batman had to be real.

How I came to watch, Son of Batman is mostly accidental & a bit wacky...long story short, I LOVED this animated flick.

I've read “about“ Bruce Wayne's son, Damian yet never found (in person) a book or movie with him. This is also my first glimpse of Nightwing

A new favorite alongside Batman Begins 👇.

TieDyeDude So this was the first in a loose trilogy of animated films, followed by Batman vs. Robin in 2015 and Batman: Bad Blood in 2016. I really liked this series; I've always thought that DC does a great job with their animated movies. Also, it is confirmed that Damian will be part of the new “connected universe“ of DC movies coming out over the next 5-10 years. (edited) 7mo

As some of you have learned about me, I am a “little“ obsessed with Batman...😂, I know, more like a little, overly, obsessed with Batman.

And this remains my absolute favorite story about my favorite superhero.

The first “reread“ of a book without a single, pretty illustration 🤔, and I loved just the same as I had the first time reading this book. 👇

AnnCrystal Some of this feels “reported,“ yet it seemed to fit the flow of the story.

An origin story that perfectly wraps the beginnings of Bruce Wayne's character and his making of Batman.

Wish I had kept a book journal when I was younger...read how my younger self felt about some of my gold star reads. I've only devotedly began one since becoming a Litten 😉👍.

This one keeps all of the Gold 🤩 Stars I originally gave. Excellent!

TieDyeDude I'm surprised superhero prose novels aren't more of a thing. When I was younger, I remember reading the novelization of No Man's Land and I really enjoying The Stone King JLA novel. 9mo

Found this while going through some paperwork. A doodle I did, Once Upon A Time (I didn't date). Some details were difficult to capture here...apparently boredom struck once I finished with Batman 😂 and I left it unfinished.

Not great work, yet it did make me giggle.

In my culture, good natured comedy is healing-like (Laughter can be a gift in a stressful world). While this is not hilarious, hope some will find this to be giggle worthy 🦇😉💝.

AnnCrystal My mom was the least favorite of her abusive, acholic mother. She married my father, who (along with his family) was verbally abusive. Her mother (often) kept her from school, and when my dad kept her from continuing an EDU, my mom taught herself how to read, a second-language, and more. My dad's an insanely good worker (workaholic), but he also enjoys gambling and (given the chance) substance abuse. My mom manages the household...👇

When my brother became sick, she was all alone with my brother in the hell of the hospital system. My dad was supposed to watch me, but he left me to his multiple-abusive (don't ask me about this) family members and friends while he lived a bachelors life. Through all this, I...👇

AnnCrystal watched my mom become stronger with her faith while my dad went searching. Outcast by most of her family (among their reasons, she doesn't drink, and can't handle hospitals or funerals). AnnCrystal While I have experienced polite racism, my mom has faced truly hateful racism (some I've even witness).

I could go on. My mom is like Bruce Wayne, she won't allow evils & difficult times to taint her character.

2nd ? - (most recent) Buffy Sainte-Marie. This is cheating, because I haven't read about her, only watched a bio...she makes a good role-model. A modern day warrior-heroine.

I've made a list of the books I'd like to reread (one day. Eventually. Maybe).

I do believe I've rediscovered the book I want to top this list with...🤔who am I trying to kid? Like Batman would ever be 2nd on a list of good things I make😂! Only if there were two Batman books 😉. 👇

AnnCrystal It has been awhile since I've watched/read this. I do believe it remains my favorite storyline...except for the Bat-mobile being transformed into a Bat-tank, although that's just my personal taste in automobiles.

This might prove the perfect, unofficial continuation, to the book I recently read about young-adult Bruce Wayne by Marie Lu (Batman: Nightwalker). 👇 10mo

TieDyeDude That's so fun that you still have all of them! I only have a handful of childhood books left. I remember, though, when movie novelizations were a big deal. I still remember sitting a a chair for 5 hours reading the novelization for Star Wars Attack of the Clones straight through. There was always a few extra nuggets of information/motivation to enhance the movie. 10mo

LibrarianRyan @Cortg yes. And they had 2 different styles for each letter. Normall a full character one and a collage one. Last time I was in the had Disney princess letters. The o my ones that are hard to find are the large star wars letters. 7y

So, I'll admit that I've never known or seen any Batman variation in the entire 22 years of my life. With that said, after finally watching the saga, I am VERY impressed for all the ways he gets involved beyond the streets of Gotham. 😋
