I passed the GACE parapro exam on Friday and I'll begin as a Kindergarten para tomorrow morning 👩‍🏫🏫
This is a photo of me reading with my Kindergarten teacher. By a twist of fate, I'll be the para in her daughter-in-law's classroom!
This teacher meant so much to me for many reasons, including her encouragement and nurturing of my early reading skills! I hope that I can leave a positive impression on the students I encounter ❤️

So proud of my little guy, who had a great first day of kindergarten and can't wait to go back tomorrow!

1. I should say working in a tennis pro shop (blocking court time and selling overpriced merch), but my heart champions my Blockbuster Video days. 📼
2. Mrs. Duffy - my kindergarten teacher - a classroom filled with music, and a grade wide production of Mary Poppins.
3. My surprise 1/2 birthday party in 1996 (my half bday is 2/29, and the party was very much unexpected)! 🥳

Help! Looking for good spring time book recommendations for kindergarten aged readers.

To clarify for all the questions on my post from yesterday. 😂

Yes, July 15th is early for the first day, but they get 3 weeks fall break, 3 days at Thanksgiving, 2 weeks Christmas break, 2 days Rodeo break, 2 weeks spring break, and a long weekend for Easter. I much prefer a shorter summer and more time off throughout the year — especially since it‘s too hot to play outside right now anyway. #tucson

My favorite teacher was my Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Duffy. She instilled in me a love of learning and brought so much music to our classroom. I have many fond memories of her class! 🤗 #PalindromeGiveaway

Received my little ones first ever report card. I am so happy and proud 😍... And a little intimidated... Girl knows her math better than I do 😂

My kinders with their books!!

Big day for my 5yo today who was both nervous and excited to go to kindergarten!

Our absolutely precious kindergartner has been creating his own little books. He reads them over and over again and puts them in that zip loc bag for safe keeping. 😁 He is the sweetest thing ever!

PS. He now reads on a “G” level and knows at least 400 sight words. So proud of him! 💚

My grandson Caleb, in 9th grade and 6‘7”, scrunched himself into the reading chair to read to his little sister Kennedy‘s Kindergarten class yesterday.

My sweet kindergartener tested at level “E” today. 👏🏻 He never ceases to amaze me! ☺️ #proudmom #raisingreaders

My sweet little 5 and a half year old tested at a “D” reading level today (which is where his teacher said he should be by the end of the school year). On his last report card, he tested at “A.” It‘s amazing how quickly he‘s improving and how well he‘s reading! So proud! 💚💚💚 #raisingreaders

First day of kindergarten! This is the moment I really got teary. 😭😭😭 He was so excited, though! Little brother not so much. Poor guy bawled his eyes out because he didn't want to leave his best friend at school. 💔

I can't believe that my little pumpkin here is already big enough to start kindergarten. Today is his first day and mommy is more nervous than he is. 😂 Even though he has been going to nursery for two years already, kindergarten is another big step. 😊
