After a long fantasy hiatus, I finally went back to the book that started it all. Witnessing how seamlessly, at the time of writing, 15-year-old Paolini paints a clear picture of a dark, yet fantastical realm in Alagaësia is always a thrill. Despite his brief stint as Eragon‘s mentor, Brom truly stands out as one of the great Sages in the fantasy genre. Looking forward to continuing the series!
I'm re-reading Eragon.. and then all the other three books of the series, just for Murtagh!
I've bought the fifth book a few months ago but then I've realized that I don't remember much of the plot 😅
Starting another new year with a series buddy read with @curiouserandcurioser I'm doing Mondays read today as I have the kids Monday so taking the chance whilst I can. Looking forward to this read.
Reading and snuggles. Oldest is watching totoro. Almost done with this re-read.
Had to borrow it from the library. My copy i got back in 6th grade many, many years ago is falling apart from reading it so much. I heard there is a new one to this series. I figured i would reread all of em before reading the new one.
Reread after 12+ years for a refresher before I read the new one. You know what, it held up. Is it derivative? Absolutely! But considering its history and how young Christopher Paolini (who‘s my age as it turns out, what??) was when he wrote it, it‘s pretty darn good. And it was more entertaining than most of the fantasy I read in the last few years. I will continue with the series and see how the other books go.
When you read a book as a child and love it, reading it again is like coming home to old friends. Returning to this beloved kids series in anticipation of the new (surprise!) book in the series coming next week about Murtagh. Can‘t believe there‘s going to be a new book after all this time. Feels so cozy to be in this world again. 🫶
“I believe, Eragon, that you are full of love and that you are looking for one who will reciprocate your affection. No shame exists in that.”
Enjoying those beautiful sunny days in Miami, lounging in the hammock in the backyard with my puppies, and diving into a good book. I can't wait for the new Eragon book in November, and I'm rereading the Inheritance Cycle in the meantime! 📚😊 ☀️📚🐶 #MiamiDays #Bookdragon #ExcitedForNovember #inheritancecycle
Words cannot express how in love I‘ve been with this book, and how much it has heightened my expectations for every series I‘ve read since. Anyone have anything that can compare?
Enjoying my day off, I'm nestled by a crackling fire, embarking on a thrilling adventure with the Dragon Riders! I am racing against time to complete the Eragon series before the eagerly anticipated release of Murtagh in November. Happy Autumn to all! 📚🔥🍂
I really enjoyed this. It is amazing that he was a teenager when he wrote this. There was one twist that I definitely did not see coming. Fortunately I have the next 3 in the series waiting so I can immediately begin the next one. I heard there is a 5th book coming as well. (Called Murtagh.) I hope they release that in the same paper cover that will match the ones I have. I'll at least wait until the paperback is out before I buy it.
I loved fantasy and I love children's books, so I really enjoyed this vintage fantasy novel for children.

I was planning on reading this series next but then I bought a new book that bumped it. So as a workaround I went and got the audio version. This might be the book version of having my cake and eating it too. (Which is an odd saying honestly. Of course you have your cake and you eat it too! What else would you do with cake?!)
Finally picked this up from the library to read…I‘ve wanted to read these series for years and the time has finally come. I‘m ready to dive into a world of dragons and adventure 🐉
Another new release I am excited to share with you all. Here is some information on the stand alone too #dragons #newrelease #newbook #fallrelease #dragonrider #eragon
Christopher Paolini announced a fifth book in the #Eragon Saga yesterday. The main character is Murtagh and it takes place after the end of the original series. The #Inheritanceseries was my first fantasy saga as a kid, and I was terribly disappointed by the ending.

Unfortunately our US trip and summer holidays interrupted the flow a little - Trix and I had about 20 minutes to go before we left and then struggled to regain the narrative thread when we did many to finish 6 weeks later. It is a good fantasy series, however, in the vein of Tolkien but slightly less complex. Eragon and Safira are interesting heroes and I look forward to seeing how their saga plays out.
I'm putting off housework to read and fill out my book journal. It's not fancy, but just keeping track of my chapters keeps me motivated.
This year will be filled with reading this series, The Wheel of Time series, and the four secret project books from Brandon Sanderson. Here's hoping by the end of all that, I'll be an expert swordsman.

I don't know why it took me so long to read Eragon, but what a lovely adventure it was! Loved the magic sooo much!

Eragon! One of the first dragon series that stole my heart! Even to this day, it has such a special place in my heart! 🐉💕
I have read Eragon… but not the rest of the series (did the movie put me off? I honestly can‘t remember) but this is the funniest and best reason I‘ve ever heard for not reading a book.
One of my favorite fantasies for #lettere! #alphabetgame
Thanks for the tag @AmyK1 I‘ll tag anyone who wants to!

Eragon and Saphira have the best bond between two characters of any series in my opinion. I always wished I had my own Saphira while reading this book. And this series has one of my favorite zero-to-hero trope stories. Zero-to-hero is one of my absolute favorite tropes.
Eragon, a novel about a younger boy who is growing up on a farm with his uncle after his Mother, left him as a child with his uncle. As Eragon is out hunting, his life will be forever changed as he finds a warm blue stone in the forest while hunting. Unknowingly he takes home a dragon egg, which lead his family to danger being as it wanted by the empire and Durza - the main antagonist of this book. As we learn, this egg is wanted by the empire…
It‘s been 6 hours and I have finished 2.5 books. (The Ghosts We Keep, Eragon and half of A Tale of Two Cities.) Here is my review for Eragon:
I suppose that this was a good book, but not so good that I will go ahead and read the next books in the series. I don‘t tend to enjoy books about dragons and adventure anymore (which is a pity), and that has affected my experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Happy National Dragon Day! 🐉❤ I couldn't fit an actual dragon in my last picture, so of course I had to take another one! 🤣😂 Eragon will always have such a special place in my heart, as it was one of the first series (along with Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede) that really got me into dragons! Also, it's such a comfort read for me - any time I'm feeling a bit down I feel myself craving a reread of these books! 🐉📚💕 #dragonsoflitsy
Listening to the #audiobook of this, and it‘s just as good as I remember! (Definitely going to be a long ride!)
One of my most favorite childhood series was the inheritance cycle. How could you not love fantasy when you are submerged in a world like this?
This book was so captivating. I wonder how it was feel to read it as a tween or upper elementary students. Its magical for me as an adult.

In other news, I finally got a copy of Eldest after so long, and now the Inheritance Cycle is complete! 🥳🐲 Now I can't put off re-reading the series. 😂
(Note: I got the movie tie-in version for Eragon because that was the only available copy my local bookstore had. I actually enjoyed the movie when I was younger, but in recent years...*cringe* We need a new adaptation!)
This book had long been on my radar. I finally found a copy at my favorite used bookstore and placed it high on my TBR list. Completely worth the time to read. I enjoy dragons in the fantasy genre. Saphira is awesome. I look forward to reading the remainder of the series. If you haven't read this, you should.
Sometimes you just need to read something a little lighter to cleanse the palate after a tough read. This is it for me. I've heard so much about it. I started yesterday and have plowed through 160 pages so far.
Fantastic start to my favorite fantasy series ever, and this is the simplest one of the whole series!! Christopher Paolini uses such incredible descriptive language that you can perfectly imagine these strange and fantastical places and things in a story he establishes so well that it cannot help but feel real
After finals, I needed something easy to read but still entertaining - middle grade fantasy it is! I never read Eragon as a kid but I needed some dragons in my life. It's a super rainy day here which means I will be reading all day long
