I applied for a position at a library an hour and a half away from my current library and I got the job! I‘ve been doing nothing but apartment hunting since. I need to move within the next 2 weeks and I‘m so incredibly stressed out! I‘m excited for the new job but dying at the idea of moving!

Hi littens! This isn‘t book related, but remember a few weeks ago when I was at work feeling like a contestant on The Bachelor? Well, guess what?!?!?

I got the final rose!!!!

Even though the official start date of my new position (an internal promotion) isn‘t until February 12th, I‘ve already started the job and have started moving into my new office. It‘s going to be a hard next few months, but I‘m going to learn so much! I‘m so happy!

Well- good news, bad news situation. The good news: I got a new job!! It seems like a good company & better pay. Bad news: I turned in my 2 weeks' notice today, and my company made it effective immediately "due to low volume", so that they could put someone else in my position. Therefore, I have to go 2 weeks with no job, unless my new company can push through all of the paperwork faster. Looks like my layoff hunch was right!

NovelGirl82 @BookFreakOut Thanks!! I was really concerned that I wouldn't have one before the layoffs hit. I'm a bit upset about not having pay for 2 weeks, but we had some money put back, so I'm using it as time to spring clean, get things in order, & decompress before I start the new job. (edited) 7y

NovelGirl82 @Bostonmomx2 I'm an RHIT- my specialty is inpatient coding (specifically level 1 trauma/teaching hospitals), but I also do outpatient coding, and I've been doing auditing for the past year. I'm going back to coding, though. It has been more common to have low volume for us, as many hospitals over staffed/contracted for ICD-10, but once the major glitches were worked out the excess staff wasn't needed. I'm lucky that my experience is what it is. 7y
