Can You Keep A Secret? | Sophie Kinsella

Fun little read about learning that not everything has to be secret because you're fine just the way you are.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.25/5)

💛 Hauntingly beautiful, poetic writing
💛 Intriguing studies of isolation, identity, and alienation
💛 Some of the stories had a dystopian, “Twilight Zone“ kind of vibe that I dug
💛 Definitely one to come back to - additional readings will enhance the experience

Wow! A lot to digest; but one of the most powerful coming of age stories I ever read.

Finished this over coffee this morning. The characters were not written like themselves. The story was ok, but it was very unstarwarsy.

bookandbedandtea Oh bummer. It was cheap on kindle so I got it but now I don't wanna read it. 1w
TheBookgeekFrau @bookandbedandtea Sorry! But I get why this was a one and done author in the series. I can always hear in my head the voices of the characters. But not this time. It was just not good. 1w

Here's the books from your #AuldLangSpine list, @sebrittainclark, that were on #MountTBR already.

I'm trying to decide which book to start with, Cascade Failure (most looking forward to) or Bride (Hazelwood's last few romances have been #MoreMehThanYeah for me).

Guess I can always add a tenth book from the list and roll a D10. 😉

julesG @monalyisha Strange, you say? Good! 😁 2w
monalyisha Right? I should have known who I was talking to and said the truth of it: Shark Heart is a strange book AND I loved it. 2w

Thank you, Sarah. I've already read a few of them, but also saw a lot that are on the higher slopes of #MountTBR (I'll post separately).

Thanks for organising, @monalyisha

Interesting. A bit of a scary topic as it makes clear that we are woefully unprepared, at the present time, to deal with the results of expanding life expectancy.

There was a lot of info here. Luckily, Goldberg writes in a very engaging, witty, and humorous way; other wise it would've read like a dry history text. The individual POVs from each side were interesting and enlightening and sometimes frustrating. Overall, a very worthy read.

This completed a second bingo for the month; yayyy!
