An easy, breezy Summery Rom Com. But there were a couple things ILOVED about it- 1. the FMC is a body guard, demonstrates that she is able to do the job. 2. She repeatedly models that with appropriate training in prevention and de-escalation most situations can be handled safely for every one. A topic i‘m pationate about because I‘ve witnessed both amazing police and corrupt police. #overcomingevilempires #readingispolitical #antifabookclub

Chrissyreadit @AnnCrystal yes!!! i was jus really angry that so many people are reading books and not making the connection that these books are sending a message agains authoritarianism- and in some places are being banned because of opening eyes to EVERYTHING- every time i see someone post to keep reading not political- im frustrated because EVERYTHING is political- its all based on laws and civil actions that make it possible- that elected people determine- 19h

Chrissyreadit @AnnCrystal so even though we all love to read- many of us read because child labour laws exist and because public schools and mandatory education exist- does this make sense? I love that even romances today focus on consent, overcoming greed and overcoming harmful people in power (Ali Hazelwood and Bride come to mind specifically) 3d

It‘s a discussion about the difference between “successful” and “unsuccessful” sociopaths—how people who fall on the sociopath spectrum often gravitate to certain careers where they can be/are wildly successful. And why being a sociopath helps them succeed. It‘s fascinating and I still talk about it a lot.

I‘m a nonfiction geek, so these are the books that come to mind for when I need an emotional pep talk: Historians of fascism offer their guides to surviving and resisting America‘s recent turn towards authoritarianism. Because those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
