BookmarkTavern A small group of individuals believing they‘ve been deprived of what‘s rightfully due them decide to put a puppet leader in charge to control, only to end up with a narcissistic, greedy, destructive force intent on sowing fear and chaos around him? Gee, I wonder how relevant that story could be? 😅😅 I can‘t believe this was written over thirty years ago. 2w

I think I enjoyed this more than I remember doing so when I first read it. It was fun to see the Watch becoming a real force for good. 2w

BarbaraJean This is my first time reading the Watch novels! Having seen Vimes (and the Watch) now in other novels, I was surprised to find him in the gutter at the beginning here! It was so fascinating to see the origins of characters I‘d enjoyed later glimpses of elsewhere. @BookmarkTavern 😂😂😭 2w

Ayyy I made it! 😅 The last -ology I needed to read through would‘ve been decalogy. I planned on The Sandman GNs way back when I started this project, but sadly I‘ll be skipping those. So instead I‘m continuing on with the mega series of Discworld. I‘ll be marathoning my way through the Industrial Revolution collection that I‘ve gotten behind on with the #OokBookClub. Fingers crossed I‘ll get caught up to The City Watch novels.

This one was a mixed bag for me. While there were some bits and pieces I liked about it, I messed the humor. Not surprising since Pratchett didn't write this one. Still if you like the Discworld series you will like this one too. 3.5⭐️
