pickYou don't see many Native American Rom-Com, so I jumped at the chance to read this one. Ember was an interesting MC. She was a pathological liar but had a good heart. However, her lying did give me some anxiety. And Danuwoa, he sounded dreamy. I give it 4 ⭐️
pickThis was a collection of 4 volumes depicting a historical fiction account of the Metis people in Canada. The story jumps back and forth between the present and the past. Our MC, Echo, gets transported to the past to witness historical events that happened to her people. The artwork was beautiful, and the historical information was interesting. However, there was very little dialogue and very little character development. 3.5 ⭐️

My husband volunteered at an animal shelter 2 weeks ago and came home with this little guy. We absolutely are in love with him. He is full of love and energy.
Though I am still aching at the loss of my beloved dog, Ebony, Pedro has brought back a joy that I didn't know I lost.

A story of two young girls of different backgrounds becoming best friends during the 1950s in Tehran, and growing up in different worlds. Along with the themes of friendship, forgiveness, women's freedom, and learning to love, we also learn the history of how women lost their rights in Iran. I grew to like Ellie (though she got on my nerves a few times) but I loved Homa. It was realistic and bittersweet. I give it 5 ⭐️

pickThis one was a cute and cozy read. I really enjoyed the talking plant, Caz, and Meep, non binary cactus. However, I do wish I enjoyed the book more since it had many whimsical moments. I felt like a lot of nothing was happening for a while. 3.5 ⭐️

pickYou know what? I actually enjoyed this one. It was not perfect but was actually hooked to the story. I liked Tana, Wolfe, Landon, and especially her dad. Her mom...not so much. Her mom somewhat redeemed herself towards the end, though. It would be interesting to read a book with the High Coven's perspective. 4 ⭐️

so-soHmmm...I was expecting more spooky than drama. It dealt with serious themes, such as identity and family dynamics. I liked some of the characters, but I couldn't get into the drama. However, I did enjoy the ghost aspect of the book. I wish there was more of it. 3⭐️

We bought this book recently after the death of our beloved dog. We finally mustered up the courage to read it. It is simple but sweet. It is colorful and full of meaning. The book emphasized how important pets are in our lives.
This book now sits next to our dog's ofrenda (alter), ready for Día de los Muertos. 4.5 ⭐️
