It‘s December, our final 2024 #AuthorAMonth! Time to pull out our Terry Pratchett books. What are you planning to read?

#AuthorAMonth is a no-pressure, no-commitment Litsy challenge. The goal is to celebrate the works of a particular author each month. Authors were chosen through polls by Litsy participants. Read as many as you like, skip months when needed, it's entirely up to you! ⬇️

Soubhiville There will be some prizes sent at the end of the year:

-There will be ONE prize book box for "MOST READ." In order to qualify, books must be FINISHED in the appropriate month. (Bails will not be counted.) It is up to you to keep track by editing your Google form. (this prize can only be won once, there will be a different winner every year.) ⬇️ 3w

Soubhiville -There will be one prize randomly chosen from the "EVERY MONTH CLUB". To qualify for this prize you must read one or more book every month for the qualifying author. For this category BAILS COUNT. The winners will be chosen randomly from the participants that qualify for the club.

-There will also be one or more random prizes sent to any randomly drawn participant who has FINISHED at least one qualifying book during the year. ⬇️ 3w

Soubhiville Once you start your Google form you will get an email confirmation. Hold on to that email, it gives you access to edit the form. You should also be able to access it through your Google Drive. I can not access it for you though, and if you can‘t get to the form you started my link will make you start a new form. It is up to you if you track monthly with the form or just fill it out at the end of the year. ⬇️ 3w

Soubhiville @vonnie862 if you don‘t love the first Discworld book, don‘t let it put you off the rest. Most of his fans feel he didn‘t get his stride until a few books in and the first two aren‘t nearly as good. 3w

Soubhiville Terry Pratchett recommendations: If you are new to TP, he‘s best known for his Discworld series. I don‘t recommend starting with the first book however, as he didn‘t really develop his style and get his stride until a few books in. I think a great place to start is with the first Night Watch book-

I just voted and I‘m so excited. This is definitely a favorite yearly challenge. I always vote for authors on my tbr list but even if they don‘t get picked for the year I have always enjoyed finding new authors I love. So even if you don‘t vote or read an #authoramonth, I recommend trying it out for a month or two and learn about new to you authors! I‘m reading more books by authors read earlier this year like Klune and SA Cosby. @Soubhiville

Welcome to November #AuthorAMonth readers! Time to pull out our Sarah Addison Allen books. What are you planning to read?

#AuthorAMonth is a no-pressure, no-commitment Litsy challenge. The goal is to celebrate the works of a particular author each month. Authors were chosen through polls by Litsy participants. Read as many as you like, skip months when needed, it's entirely up to you! ⬇️

Soubhiville There will be some prizes sent at the end of the year:

-There will be ONE prize book box for "MOST READ." In order to qualify, books must be FINISHED in the appropriate month. (Bails will not be counted.) It is up to you to keep track by editing your Google form. (this prize can only be won once, there will be a different winner every year.) ⬇️ 2mo

Soubhiville -There will be one prize randomly chosen from the "EVERY MONTH CLUB". To qualify for this prize you must read one or more book every month for the qualifying author. For this category BAILS COUNT. The winners will be chosen randomly from the participants that qualify for the club.

-There will also be one or more random prizes sent to any randomly drawn participant who has FINISHED at least one qualifying book during the year. ⬇️ 2mo

Soubhiville Once you start your Google form you will get an email confirmation. Hold on to that email, it gives you access to edit the form. You should also be able to access it through your Google Drive. I can not access it for you though, and if you can‘t get to the form you started my link will make you start a new form. CatLass007 I live in East Tennessee. Johnson City was lucky. The same cannot be said for Elizabethton and Erwin. They found the body of the last missing Impact Plastics employee. CatLass007 @Bookwormjillk Parts of Erwin were really nice. I hate that it‘s under water and I still find it shocking to have seen on the news that 50 people had to be airlifted off the roof of the hospital. And there was a story that I think took place in the Asheville area (but don‘t quote me on that) about a family who watched their house float down the river with their cat trapped on top. About a week later 🐈 and family were reunited. It just (cont)⬇️ 2mo

CatLass007 occurred to me that God or the Universe or whatever doesn‘t send things like this as a punishment for some transgression, as some on the religious right will be sure to say. Loudly. Maybe he allows things like this to happen to show us how to work together for the common good instead of fighting for the right to be right. 2mo

Bookwormjillk @CatLass007 leave it to a cat to float away and come back. Hiking is harder now that the kids are teens with busy schedules so we mostly hike around home in Virginia. But we still usually get to Asheville or the Smokies once a year at least. 2mo

#AuthorAMonth is a no-pressure, no-commitment Litsy challenge. The goal is to celebrate the works of a particular author each month. Authors were chosen through polls by Litsy participants. Read as many as you like, skip months when needed, it's entirely up to you! ⬇️

Soubhiville There will be some prizes sent at the end of the year:

-There will be ONE prize book box for "MOST READ." In order to qualify, books must be FINISHED in the appropriate month. (Bails will not be counted.) It is up to you to keep track by editing your Google form. (this prize can only be won once, there will be a different winner every year.) ⬇️ 4mo

Soubhiville -There will be one prize randomly chosen from the "EVERY MONTH CLUB". To qualify for this prize you must read one or more book every month for the qualifying author. For this category BAILS COUNT. The winners will be chosen randomly from the participants that qualify for the club.

Soubhiville Once you start your Google form you will get an email confirmation. Hold on to that email, it gives you access to edit the form. You should also be able to access it through your Google Drive. I can not access it for you though, and if you can‘t get to the form you started my link will make you start a new form. CatLass007 I‘ve listened to My Darkest Prayer and Razorblade Tears. Both were excellent. I‘d like to get to Brokedown Prophets before the end of the month. For July, I have The Complete Poppy War Trilogy in one volume. It‘s 66 hours and 29 minutes long. I don‘t know if I‘ll make it through the entire trilogy this month but it‘s not out of the question. 6mo

Jess Cosby was a win. I had read one and finished two others this month. I immediately went out and bought My Darkest Prayer for later reading. Cosby is now an auto buy. Thanks for whoever nominated him! Not sure about July. May just read

My Favorite Authors | Thomas Costley

Preparing for #authoramonth for 2024 is proving difficult. I have very few books by these authors. Husband has most of Pratchett‘s books, so he‘s going to help me pick for December. But otherwise, I‘ll be looking for suggestions.

Other than Emma, I‘ve not read books by Jane Austen. I‘m about 1/3 into Pride and Prejudice and I‘m enjoying it very much. I‘m pleasantly surprised (& some authors not so much—Rushdie). That‘s why I love this challenge!

TEArificbooks For Tana French I liked In the Woods the first in a series. They made it into a tv show but the mixed two books into the first season so you might want to read both books before watching 12mo

CBee @Texreader a lot of Littens really like Fingersmith by Waters. Anything by Cosby is bound to be amazing. The Aaron Falk series by Jane Harper is good. 12mo

CBee Kuang‘s Yellowface was amazing, and my favorite by Klune is The House on the Cerulean Sea (Under the Whispering Door is also so good). 12mo

Welcome to January 2024 #AuthorAMonth readers! Time to pull out our Jane Austen books. What are you planning to read?

#AuthorAMonth is a no-pressure, no-commitment Litsy challenge. The goal is to celebrate the works of a particular author each month. Authors were chosen through polls by Litsy participants. Read as many as you like, skip months when needed, it's entirely up to you! ⬇️

Soubhiville There will be some prizes sent at the end of the year:

-There will be ONE prize book box for "MOST READ." In order to qualify, books must be FINISHED in the appropriate month. (Bails will not be counted.) It is up to you to keep track by editing your Google form each month. (this prize can only be won once, there will be a different winner every year.) ⬇️ 12mo

Soubhiville -There will be one prize randomly chosen from the "EVERY MONTH CLUB". To qualify for this prize you must read one or more book every month for the qualifying author. For this category BAILS COUNT. The winners will be chosen randomly from the participants that qualify for the club. 12mo
