Welcome to April #AuthorAMonth readers! Time to pull out our Ruth Ozeki books. What are you planning to read?

#AuthorAMonth is a no-pressure, no-commitment Litsy challenge. The goal is to celebrate the works of a particular author each month. Authors were chosen through polls by Litsy participants. Read as many as you like, skip months when needed, it's entirely up to you! ⬇️

Soubhiville There will be some prizes sent at the end of the year:

-There will be ONE prize book box for "MOST READ." In order to qualify, books must be FINISHED in the appropriate month. (Bails will not be counted.) It is up to you to keep track by editing your Google form each month. (this prize can only be won once, there will be a different winner every year.) ⬇️
2w
Soubhiville -There will be one prize randomly chosen from the "EVERY MONTH CLUB". To qualify for this prize you must read one or more book every month for the qualifying author. For this category BAILS COUNT. The winners will be chosen randomly from the participants that qualify for the club.

-There will also be one or more random prizes sent to any randomly drawn participant who has FINISHED at least one qualifying book during the year. ⬇️
2w
Soubhiville Once you start your Google form you will get an email confirmation. Hold on to that email, it gives you access to edit the form. You should also be able to access it through your Google Drive. I can not access it for you though, and if you can‘t get to the form you started my link will make you start a new form. ⬇️ 2w
See All 39 Comments
Soubhiville It is up to you if you track monthly with the form or just fill it out at the end of the year. I won‘t be looking at it until January of 2025.

Only Listy members who are still active in the Listy community at the time of drawings will qualify.

Here is the link to the Google form:⬇️
2w

CBee @AmyG this was on my #auldlangspine list last year and I never got to it. I LOVED A Tale for the Time Being ♥️ 2w
Gissy I will try. I know I read most of the books out of order but my goal is to read the books I own by that author but I‘m a slow reader🤷🏽‍♀️But this is a great opportunity, gives me motivation to read those books from my tbr📚😃Sorry for my chaotic reading system😳 2w
AmyG @CBee do you have it? I can send this to you when I finish. (edited) 2w
TheSpineView Ugh... I don't know. Sigh..😏🙄 2w

Heads up #AuthorAMonth readers 🙂. We‘re 2/3 of the way through March and you all have read a lot of Jane Harper! She seems to mostly be a hit.

As we inch closer to April, you may want to place your library hold or order for Ruth Ozeki books. It will be my first experience with her, and I‘m looking forward to it!

Happy Reading 📚🙂💚.

TheBookHippie Just put holds in yesterday!! 4w
TheSpineView Looked at this author's books. Now I need to see what the library has to offer. 4w
AmyG All set for Ozeki! I think it was you who gave me 4w
CatLass007 I thought both of the Jane Harper books I listened to were excellent and I plan to make my way through the rest of her books. I‘ve put a Ruth Ozeki book on hold with my library. Looking forward to it! 4w
Soubhiville @AmyG yes, that‘s a chunky one! 4w
Yenya1954 I‘ve never read any of Ruth Ozeki‘s writings. I just reserved “A Tale for the Time Being.” 3w
Caryl A Tale for the Time Being is one of my very favorite books. 💖 I plan to read The Book of Form and Emptiness in April. 3w
KadaGul @Soubhiville I'm sorry 😢 to say that I won't be able to continue being a part of the AuthorAMonth book club. Things have been getting pretty hectic lately, and with school 🏫 and summer 🌞coming up, it will only get busier. 3w
Soubhiville @KadaGul no worries! Do you want me to take you off the tag list? I‘m glad you got to read along with us for a bit. Come back in anytime! 3w
KadaGul @Soubhiville, If it's not too much trouble, could you please remove me from the list? I will rejoin once things have settled down. 3w

Hello #AuthorAMonth readers! We‘ve got about a week left in February with Lauren Groff. I hope you‘ve been enjoying your time with her.

March‘s author is Jane Harper. It might be a good time to place your library hold or order. 📚❤️🙂

Have a great week!

Morr_Books I'm ready for March! 2mo
TheSpineView Thanks for the reminder. 2mo
tpixie @Soubhiville thanks 😊 2mo
CatLass007 I haven‘t gotten to the Lauren Groff book I had chosen. I‘ve felt pressured all month to get everything done before the end of the month. And that pressure is self-imposed. Plus February, even in a leap year, is a short month. Not enough time to get everything done that I want to do. But I am looking forward to Dry by Jane Harper. (edited) 2mo
Soubhiville @CatLass007 no worries! It‘s not important to read every author, it‘s only important to enjoy what you can and do read. 😊 2mo
CatLass007 @Soubhiville Thank you. 2mo
Bookzombie I‘m currently about 50 pages into 2mo
Yenya1954 I have really enjoyed Jane Harper‘s novels! I‘m looking forward to reading another one. 2mo

Soubhiville Somehow I left out the “Every Month Club” in the notes above. There‘s a randomly drawn prize from the group of readers who either complete or attempt and bail on at least one book by each author.📚🙂 2mo
CatLass007 Since I won‘t be doing the challenge portion, I don‘t think it‘s vital that I fill out the Google form. I already have my Lauren Groff book, The Vaster Wilds! 2mo
Gissy Thank you! I completed the form with books read in January 2024🤗I‘m planning to read, but not 100% sure, more books by this author but later in the year, as part of another reading goal. 2mo
Soubhiville @CatLass007 you may want to do the Google form if you‘d like to be eligible for the prize drawing. Everyone who reads at least one book is automatically entered, but I go by the form to draw winners. 🙂 2mo
Soubhiville I hope to read the tagged, if I have time to get to it this month. It‘s the only book of Groff‘s I haven‘t read yet: 2mo
KadaGul @Soubhiville I got done ✅ w/ my local libraries' 📚 reading 📖 challenges earlier than anticipated that's why I can participate in February. I'm looking 👀 forward to reading 📖 Vester Wilds. I just have to pick up from library 📚 2mo
dabbe I have no idea what to read. Any suggestions anybody? 😃 2mo
Bookwormjillk It‘s finally time to read 2mo
Soubhiville @dabbe if you like short stories my favorite by her is 2mo
Deblovestoread @dabbe. I loved Matrix. Historical Fic about a 17 year old sent to be a prioress of a destitute abbey. 2mo
Deblovestoread I hope to read both The Vaster Wilds and Florida. 2mo
Blackink_WhitePaper I am going to read Arcadia. I dont have any clue on the subject of the book. Lets see! 😄 2mo
Caryl I‘m planning to read Matrix, and may get to Florida as well. 2mo
Pageturner1 not familiar with her. guess will see what majority of #AAM is going to read. 2mo
dabbe @Deblovestoread Thanks; I'll look into it! 🤩😍🤗 2mo
Julsmarshall I‘ve got an ARC of Vaster Wilds and Florida on audio so I have a couple to read this month:) 2mo
peanutnine I'm planning to read Monsters of Templeton since I got a copy from a used book sale a while back. I'd also like to try to get to Fates and Furies if I have time, it was recommended highly on my favorite book podcast 2mo
LiteraryHoarderPenny @peanutnine Monsters of Templeton is my absolute favourite by Groff. Loved it! 2mo
Jess I got a head start and just finished Arcadia on audio (a low pick for me) and have Fates and Furies and Monsters of Templeton on my shelves so hope to read both this month. 2mo
peanutnine @LiteraryHoarderPenny oh yay, that makes me more excited to read it! 2mo
TheSpineView This author is going to be hard for me. I tried to read Fates and Furies a few years back and ended up bailing on it. I think it will just be whatever is available at the library. 2mo
Yenya1954 I enjoyed Delicate Edible Birds and other stories. 2mo
Bookzombie I‘m going to read Monsters of Templeton. 2mo
DHill I‘ll be reading 2mo

We have a little more than a week left in January #AuthorAMonth readers. 🙂 I hope you‘re enjoying reading Jane Austen‘s books.

Quick reminder that February will be Lauren Groff‘s month of recognition. Do you need to put a hold on a book from your library or place an order with your local indie bookseller?

I‘ll be posting the 2024 google sheet at the end of January.

Happy reading!

AmyG I am excited for Groff. 3mo

Soubhiville @AmyG me too! I really enjoy her books. 3mo
Megabooks Ordered this but I may have read it years ago. I also plan to try one of her earlier novels on audio! 3mo
Soubhiville @Megabooks I think that‘s the only one I haven‘t read yet, so I hope I will read that as well 🙂. 3mo
Jess I have Arcadia, Monsters of Templeton and Fates and Furies on my shelves. We shall see what I get through. 3mo
Deblovestoread I‘ll start with Florida and maybe get to this one too 3mo
CatLass007 I started Emma in November but I‘m only 1/3 of the way through. I‘m probably not going to finish it this month. 3mo
CBee @Soubhiville could you email me your new address please? I‘d like to (eventually) send you something 😊 it‘s cydneybean@gmail.com. 3mo
IndoorDame My hold on The Vaster Wilds just came in yesterday. I‘m super excited about it since it‘s on my #auldlangspine list and I‘ve never read anything by Groff before. 3mo
CatLass007 Does anyone have any recommendation(s) for my first book by Lauren Groff? 3mo
AmyG @CatLass007 I can only say my first Groff was Monsters of Templeton and I loved it. I am going to read Florida and maybe, MAYBE, Arcadia. 3mo
Soubhiville @CatLass007 if you like short stories, Florida is my favorite by her. If you prefer novels I thought The Vaster Wilds was great. 3mo
AmandaBlaze I couldn't get into Northanger Abbey. I'll probably try again some day. I'm going to read Vaster Wilds for February. I loved Arcadia. 3mo
CatLass007 @AmyG @Soubhiville Thank you both. I think I prefer novels over short stories. It‘s hard to be invested in the characters in the short form. But if I like the novel I choose, I‘m more likely to choose books by the same author. 3mo
AmyG @Soubhiville OOOO thrilled to know how good Florida is. (edited) 3mo
Bklover I have The Vaster Wilds that I don‘t even remember buying, but I‘d like to try Florida as well. 3mo
Laughterhp I own the vaster Wilds, so I‘m going to read that and try fates and furies because I own that one as well! 3mo
dariazeoli I‘ll be finishing Pride & Prejudice this week! My first Groff will be audio: 3mo
Melismatic Looking forward to Feb as I‘ve never read any Groff! 💖 3mo
Larkken Ooh good timing, I just got Vaster Wilds from the library! 3mo
Gissy I think I missed the link 3mo
Soubhiville @Gissy I haven‘t posted the link to the form yet. I will be posting it for the first time at the end of this month. 3mo
Yenya1954 Thanks! I just reserved one! 3mo
Gissy @Soubhiville Thank you🤗 3mo
Morr_Books I can't believe I haven't picked up an Austen yet. I guess there is still a little time.... 3mo
Bluebird I‘m reading an annotated version of Pride and Prejudice, nearly done. I am a bit nervous about Groff. I bailed on the Vaster Wilds at about 15%-despite it being read by one of my favorite narrators. I have Monsters of Templeton and Edible Birds on hold at the library-will see what comes up. 3mo

Preparing for #authoramonth for 2024 is proving difficult. I have very few books by these authors. Husband has most of Pratchett‘s books, so he‘s going to help me pick for December. But otherwise, I‘ll be looking for suggestions.

Other than Emma, I‘ve not read books by Jane Austen. I‘m about 1/3 into Pride and Prejudice and I‘m enjoying it very much. I‘m pleasantly surprised (& some authors not so much—Rushdie). That‘s why I love this challenge!

TEArificbooks For SA Cosby, I loved Razorblade Tears so I have his new one pulled for that month 3mo
TEArificbooks For Emily St John I loved Station 11 and Sea of Tranquility 3mo
See All 14 Comments
TEArificbooks For Tana French I liked In the Woods the first in a series. They made it into a tv show but the mixed two books into the first season so you might want to read both books before watching 3mo
Texreader @TEArificbooks I actually bailed on that Tana French book. I got so bored. Any others? 3mo
TEArificbooks @Texreader I did like The Dry and every Sarah Addison Allen that you already have there. Only read the one French so far but I have The Witch Elm pulled for it. 3mo
Texreader @TEArificbooks I‘m really struggling with Sarah Waters. Every book that looks interesting to me has poor reviews that I‘d likely agree with (they are too slow-a complaint I take to heart). Have you read anything you liked by her? 3mo
Texreader Kuang‘s Babel was on my tbr, so I‘ve easily added that one. 3mo
CBee @Texreader a lot of Littens really like Fingersmith by Waters. Anything by Cosby is bound to be amazing. The Aaron Falk series by Jane Harper is good. 3mo
CBee Kuang‘s Yellowface was amazing, and my favorite by Klune is The House on the Cerulean Sea (Under the Whispering Door is also so good). 3mo
TEArificbooks @Texreader never read Waters but had many friends recommend Fingersmith 3mo
Texreader @CBee Thank you!! I‘m pretty sure my son has House on the Cerulean Sea so I‘ve stacked that one. And thanks for all the recommendations. Really appreciated! 3mo
Amiable @Texreader If you couldn‘t get into Tana French‘s Dublin Squad series, try “The Searcher” or “The Witch Elm.” They aren‘t related to the series. 3mo
CBee @Texreader you‘re welcome ♥️ 3mo

Welcome to January 2024 #AuthorAMonth readers! Time to pull out our Jane Austen books.

(this prize can only be won once, there will be a different winner every year.) ⬇️
3mo
Soubhiville -There will be one prize randomly chosen from the "EVERY MONTH CLUB". To qualify for this prize you must read one or more book every month for the qualifying author. For this category BAILS COUNT. The winners will be chosen randomly from the participants that qualify for the club. 3mo
Soubhiville -There will also be one or more random prizes sent to any randomly drawn participant who has FINISHED at least one qualifying book during the year.

Only Listy members who are still active in the Listy community at the time of drawings will qualify.

I will build a new Google form for 2024 by the end of January. ⬇️

Soubhiville As always, let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the tag list. 🙂📚. Happy Reading! 3mo
Soubhiville I am using the 2024 tag list for the first time. If I‘ve made any typos let me know, or if I‘ve somehow missed adding you I apologize, just let me know. 😁🤞 3mo
Susanita Maybe this time I will actually finish Emma! 3mo
Soubhiville Some of you are tagged more than once because I‘m not sure the tag worked for the first time… let me know if you got two notifications? I‘m going to read 3mo
Soubhiville @Susanita good luck! Classics can be a challenge for me. 3mo
dariazeoli This is the year I finally read 3mo
IndoorDame I‘m thinking I‘m going to read Emma. I think it‘s been by far the longest since I‘ve read it. 3mo
Lcsmcat I may reread Persuasion. It‘s my favorite Austen. 3mo
Bookwormjillk I‘m not sure yet. I‘ve read them all so it‘s going to be a mid-month treat for me to pick whichever one I have a feel for. 3mo
Laughterhp I‘m going with Sense and Sensibility. I‘ve never read it before. I‘m just waiting on my library copy. 3mo
Amiable I may skip this month to focus on my #AuldLangSpine booklist—undetermined at this time. 🙂 3mo
Jess I found two different copies of Sense and Sensibility on my shelves so will start there but I‘ve never read Northanger Abbey and may want to try that this month. 3mo
AllDebooks I might go with Persuasion as it's the only one I haven't read or maybe stick with comfort reading my favourite 3mo
Melismatic I‘m not an Austen girlie but I trust this challenge! Gonna go left field with 3mo
vonnie862 I'm going to try Northanger Abbey. 3mo
Soubhiville @Melismatic I‘ve actually never read her! I feel like a book traitor to say I enjoy the movies but have never been drawn to the books. I‘m trying this month though! 3mo
Soubhiville @Amiable I love that challenge! I hope you have a bunch of books you‘re excited about for it. 3mo
vlwelser Emma. I'm not really an Austen person. I read P&P and kept expecting (hoping) zombies were about to lumber out of the bushes. We'll see what happens with this one. 3mo
BarkingMadRead I think I‘m going to read Persuasion. I always reach for P&P so I thought I‘d try something different 3mo
Read4life I‘m going to try Northanger Abbey on Serial Reader 3mo
Soubhiville @Read4life oh great idea! I often forget about serial reader. 3mo
Bookzombie I‘m going with Sense and Sensibility. 3mo
MrsV I think I might try Persuasion 3mo
Julsmarshall I‘m not sure, like @Bookwormjillk I‘ve read and own them all and plan to see where the wind takes me mid-month. Excited to get back into Austen 🤩 3mo
Caryl I‘m excited for Austen month! It will be fun to read all the posts. I‘ve read The Big Six, so I‘m going to start with one of her early works, then see if I have time for more. 3mo
Deblovestoread I‘m going to start with Persuasion. If time allows I might squeeze in either P & P or S & S. 3mo
dabbe Either SENSE AND SENSIBILITY or PERSUASION. Haven't read either one. 3mo
mom2bugnbee My favorite! So excited to have an excuse to re-read her catalog! 3mo
KadaGul @Soubhiville I might not be able to get to the Authors until March. I am in few local Library 📚 reading 📖 challenges. They all will end in February. For March #JANEHARPER I'll have #DRYBYJANEHARPER 3mo
Soubhiville @KadaGul do you want to be added to the tag list? 3mo
KadaGul @Soubhiville Yes I want to because 5/12 I'm in local library challenges and then the rest i don't know 🤷‍♀️ what to read. This way I'll have little theme going on to fill in the gaps. If that's ok with you. 3mo
Andrew65 Going in for January with 3mo
DHill I‘ll be reading 3mo
gossamerchild I think I'm gonna start with Persuasion, as it's my favorite ❤️❤️❤️ 3mo
Bluebird I can‘t decide! I may put the names in a hat and choose that way. 😂😂 3mo
Eyelit @Caryl Twinsies! That‘s what I‘m doing as well 😃 3mo
Caryl @Eyelit - Awesome! We‘ll have to compare notes. 🤓💖 3mo
BeckyWithTheGoodBooks I am so excited about this list!! 3mo
Yenya1954 I just finished Persuasion by Jane Austen 3mo

Happy NYE #AuthorAMonth readers! What a wonderful year of reading it has been. 📚 Who was your favorite of this year‘s authors?

If you want to be tagged in next year‘s posts, be sure to comment on the last post I made on this book title.

If you haven‘t completed your Google form yet, be sure to do that in the next few days so I can draw our winners and add totals up for the Most Read prize. Link and rules will be in the comments. ⬇️

Soubhiville Now may be a good time to update your Google form tracking your #AAM reads. If you haven‘t started your form yet here is the link to do so:

CatLass007 I enjoyed Nnedi Okorafor. I‘m still reading more of her books. 4mo
Soubhiville My favorites this year were Louise Erdrich and Maggie O‘Farrell. 🙂 4mo
BarkingMadRead Loved Reid, st James, and O‘Farrell 3mo
Melismatic For me, a toss up between Erdrich, Okorafor, and Morton 💖 3mo
tjwill I already loved and had read most of Ruth Ware‘s, Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s, and Simone St. James‘s books, so I read theirs that I hadn‘t read yet, but the one I read the most this year was John Steinbeck. I think I read 6 of his books. I read some AAM books every month but December because I was busy and didn‘t finish the one I was working on. (edited) 3mo
Andrew65 Thanks for such a great reading year @Soubhiville. I completed the form earlier today. Amazed when looking back to see I‘ve read 28 #AuthorAMonth books. Happy New Year to you. 3mo
Amiable Steinbeck and Larson. In fact, my Steinbeck pick almost won my nonfiction reading bracket for the year. I‘m proud of myself for finally making it into the “Every Month Club” this year! (edited) 3mo
DHill My favorite new-to-me author was Maggie O‘Farrell. 3mo
AmyG My favorites were O‘Farrell and Morton, though not new to me. 3mo
Soubhiville Thanks @Andrew65 ! Happy New Year! 3mo
dabbe Thanks for hosting this incredible event, @Soubhiville. I can only barely imagine the hard work involved. My faves this year were totally new to me: Erdrich, O'Farrell, and Ishiguro. Steinbeck has always been a personal favorite, so it was nice to read something of his I had never read before. Looking forward to 2024! 💙🖤💙 3mo
Megabooks I already knew I loved O‘Farrell, but discovering I loved Erdrich, too, was wonderful!! Thanks for another great year!! (edited) 3mo
UwannaPublishme Thanks for being our awesome host of this fun challenge! I was thrilled to finally read Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s Evelyn Hugo and Steinbeck‘s Grapes of Wrath. 3mo
BookwormAHN Surprisingly my favorite was The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie 😺 3mo
Bookwormjillk I loved re-reading some of my favorite Steinbeck books. 3mo
gossamerchild I was super surprised by John Steinbeck (The Grapes of Wrath might have been my favorite of the year) and Simone St. James. Such a great year of authors. I'm so excited for 2024! 3mo
Teresereading Ursula Le Guin was a great discovery for me 3mo
Jess My favs this year (although not new to me) were O‘Farrell and Ishiguro. It was great to clear my shelves of their backlist. My surprise fav author was St. James. I will definitely be picking up others from this author. Thanks for a fanatic year! 3mo
Read4life Kate Morton. I ended up reading 2 different books from what I originally picked because library holds came in. I plan to read the 2 I own in early 2024. 3mo
Caryl Favorites: I loved beginning 2023 with Erdrich‘s The Sentence! I was also happy to finally read O‘Farrell‘s Hamnet. I didn‘t get to Ishiguro or Morton, but hope to sneak them into my 2024 reading. Thank you for hosting this wonderful challenge, Soubhi! 3mo
Gissy Maggie O‘Farrell

Followed by Kate Morton and Simone St. James
3mo
Bluebird Reid and O‘Farrell were my favorites. Both were new to me. 3mo
Bklover I love St.James. Also Steinbeck and Ishiguro. Was a very good year!! 3mo

Repost for @Soubhiville

Every year I ask folks who still wants to be tagged for #AuthorAMonth. This lets me weed out people who are no longer active, and also is a great time for new readers to get on the tag list. Please comment on their post to be on the 2024 tag list.

#AuthorAMonth is a no commitment group, jump in or out whenever you feel like it. All authors nominated and voted on by Litsy members.

We are drawing close to the end of December and the end of the year #AuthorAMonth readers. I hope you are enjoying your Kate Morton books. I‘ve been seeing your reviews 🙂📚.

We will be starting off 2024 with Jane Austen, get your holds placed soon if you need to. I‘m pondering which to read, and I‘ve appreciated everyone‘s recommendations.

Don‘t forget to fill in your google form when you know you‘ve finished your last #AAM book for the year.

tokorowilliamwallace Oh, I saw this too late! I have a Kate Morton book I picked up thrifting that interested me, The Distant Hours. Maybe I'll be in the mood to start it the last week of the month. 4mo

#AuthorAMonth readers (and anyone else who is interested)

It‘s time to nominate authors for next year‘s reading list!

I will build the poll in 2-3 weeks. Nominate anyone you‘d like, but I‘ll remove all authors we‘ve already read from the poll list.

Authors can write any genre, but must have several books published.

I‘m looking forward to seeing who you suggest!

Happy October! Time to pull out our Simone St James books for #AuthorAMonth.

-There will be ONE prize book box for "MOST READ." In order to qualify, books must be FINISHED in the appropriate month. (Bails will not be counted.) It is up to you to keep track by editing the Google form each month. (this prize can only be won once, there will be a different winner every year.) ⬇️
6mo
Soubhiville -There will be one prize chosen from the "EVERY MONTH CLUB". To qualify for this prize you must read one or more book every month for the qualifying author. For this category BAILS COUNT. The winners will be chosen randomly from the participants that qualify for the club.

Here‘s my idea: one author, one day, and everyone loving his/her books will post on Litsy and other social media, tagging the author, to show love! I want this authorto be fantastic, but sadly not that famous. I‘d love to have several people helping me coordinate this, and as many as possible to participate. What do you think, Littens? ...

We‘re over halfway through March #AuthorAMonth readers! Here‘s our March author John Steinbeck with his travel buddy Charley. 🐶

Our April author will be Ruth Ware, get your library holds placed if needed.

Andrew65 Finally get to the Ruth Ware book I‘ve owned for a while. (edited) 13mo
AmyG I have The It Girl on reserve….I am supposedly next in line. 13mo
Cinfhen I read Travels with Charley this month!! So good. Not sure which book by Ware I‘ll be picking up / I‘m not a fan 🤷🏼‍♀️ 13mo
Soubhiville @Cinfhen I don‘t care for her either so I‘ll be skipping. 13mo
Lcsmcat @Cinfhen I liked Travels With Charley when I read it! I may skip next month though. Not a fan either. 13mo
CoffeeNBooks @Andrew65 That's the first Ruth Ware book I read, and it's my favorite of her books! 13mo
squirrelbrain @AmyG - I have that one bookmarked on Scribd. It‘s so looong though - 17hours on audio! 😬 13mo
Pageturner1 i‘ve got a couple of her books to read. 😀 13mo
Andrew65 @CoffeeNBooks It‘s one I look forward to getting to. Like your comments, I have heard positive things about it. 13mo
Cinfhen Oh good!!! I‘m in awesome company @Soubhiville @Lcsmcat when it comes to Ware. I read It Girl @squirrelbrain @AmyG it was ok but not worth 17 hours on audio 😳 13mo
AmyG @Soubhiville Ha…I shall find out as I reserved the audiobook. 😳 And I just found The Woman in Cabin 10 so will try to read that, too. (edited) 13mo
Amiable @Cinfhen @Lcsmcat I haven‘t enjoyed what I‘ve read by Ruth Ware either, but I‘m trying to be on the “every-author” list this year! 😬 Whatever I get for April will definitely be a library book so I don‘t have to pay for it. 😀 13mo
Deblovestoread I‘ve haven‘t read Ware and am not sure what I‘ll try but will likely stay away from a 17 hour audio book 😂 13mo
Cinfhen I think that‘s the right attitude @Amiable 😁I‘m gonna follow your lead and there‘s no shame in #AllHailTheBail if NEED BE 😉 13mo
squirrelbrain Yes, I‘m aiming for that too @Amiable ! I found It Girl at the digital library as well as audio so might mix it up to speed it up! @Cinfhen @AmyG I also found 3 more at the digital library but, really weirdly, it claims that they are ALL 352 pages long. 🤔 13mo
JacqMac @Cinfhen I am also not a fan. I‘m going to see what the library has because I don‘t want to buy one. lol 13mo
AmyG @squirrelbrain Well that‘s weird. I mean , her books are all similar length. 😳 13mo
Read4life @Andrew65 I agree with @CoffeeNBooks 🤓 I did save The It Girl for April when I saw she was the #AuthorAMonth author. It‘s the only one I haven‘t read yet. I‘ll reread Snowflakes, too. 13mo
Andrew65 @Read4life I‘ve got the IT Girl, The Lying Game and One by One on hold too. 13mo
Cinfhen @JacqMac SAME!!!! 13mo

SamAnne I‘m reading East of Eden. Finally! I offer one suggestion that might not be on people‘s radar screens, esp. for those who have traveled to Baja or Mexico: The Log of the Sea of Cortez, a non fiction account of Steinbeck‘s boat trip along the coast of Baja with his best friend and biologist Ed. Both funny and poignant— they embarked just as the U.S. was entering WWII—and an incredible snapshot of Baja before the resorts came. A quick read. 14mo
Soubhiville @SamAnne thanks for the suggestion! 14mo
Amiable Just started “Travels With Charley“ and I'm really enjoying it! Also hoping to do a re-read of “Grapes of Wrath“ if I can get to it. 14mo

Read4life Starting with The Grapes of Wrath 14mo
Bookzombie I‘m going with The Winter Of Our Discontent. 14mo
Daisey I truly enjoyed East of Eden & Grapes of Wrath when I read them. I plan to start with Cannery Row and and maybe fit in another short novel as well. (edited) 14mo
gossamerchild I had been planning on sitting this one out, but I picked up The Grapes of Wrath out of curiosity. I am pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. 14mo

Cinfhen I‘ve got two lined up Grapes and 14mo
UwannaPublishme Glad to see I‘ll be reading The Grapes of Wrath in such great company! 14mo
UwannaPublishme @SamAnne Oh, that sounds like one I must put on my list. Thx! 14mo

Just a few days left in February #AuthorAMonth readers. I hope you‘re enjoying your time with Taylor Jenkins Reid.

March brings us to John Steinbeck, get your library holds placed if needed. 🙂📚

TheKidUpstairs My TJR hold still hasn't come in 🧐 it's two weeks overdue 😫 so frustrating! 14mo

Soubhiville @TheKidUpstairs that is frustrating. My library discontinued late fees, and I wondered if that would mean some people just kept books as long as they wanted to, regardless of whether there were holds on it. 14mo
Megabooks Just checked out 2 Steinbecks from the library! 14mo
Andrew65 February has been a great month for #AuthorAMonth. Hopefully can repeat this with Steinbeck. 14mo
IndoorDame @Soubhiville speaking as someone who has benefited immensely from this policy, I don‘t think it‘s that simple https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/10/07/us/new-york-public-library-fines-eliminated-c... 14mo
Bklover Loved this month! Can‘t wait for March! 14mo
SamAnne Very much looking forward to reading East of Eden in March! One of Steinbeck's I've not read! 14mo
AllDebooks I'm really looking forward to Steinbeck. 😊 14mo
Susanita Steinbeck and I are like oil and water, but maybe I‘ll do better with this one set near where I was born. 14mo
AmyG I just got (audiobook) The Pearl. Ha, I am not even sure if I ever read it. @SamAnne you are in for a treat. Excellent book! (edited) 14mo
Soubhiville @IndoorDame thanks for sharing the article. I know there are good reasons for it, and I think it is best that fees are eliminated. I just understand the frustration of not getting a book in the expected/ predicted time. 14mo
Soubhiville @AmyG I loved The Pearl in school, and hope to reread that one. 14mo
IndoorDame @Soubhiville totally, I don‘t think any of us will ever escape that frustration! 🙂 🙃 14mo
CoffeeNBooks @SamAnne It's a great book! 14mo
CoffeeNBooks @Susanita I really liked Cannery Row, but I love all things John Steinbeck. 😆 14mo
CoffeeNBooks I'm not sure how February went by so quickly! 😳 I've had less time to read this month to begin with, and then February doesn't have the regular number of days 😂, so I never got to my TJR pick. 14mo
dariazeoli I‘m finishing the third of the TJR books I had on Mount TBR this month. I‘m so happy! Debating one Steinbeck chunkster or several short works for March… 14mo
Soubhiville @dariazeoli choices 📚😁! 14mo
BarkingMadRead Finished my February selection the other night, and have my Steinbeck put aside for March! 14mo
Bluebird I really enjoyed the Feb choice. Read 3 books and waiting on a library loan for number 4 😄. I‘m not sure I‘ll join for March. I‘m not a Steinbeck fan. Read one book years ago in high school and got turned off. Haven‘t tried him again. Anyone have a suggestion for a reluctant reader? 14mo
Cinfhen I read two this month…enjoyed them both and I‘ve got two lined up for next month🤓Thanks so much for this fun monthly challenge😍 14mo
Cinfhen @SamAnne EoE was PHENOMENAL!!! Such an amazing story. LOVED IT 14mo
Cinfhen @Bluebird see my above comment 👆🏽I felt the same until I read this one, but it‘s a bit of a chunkster, but so worth it (edited) 14mo
DHill I‘m planning on reading 14mo
Bluebird Thanks @Cinfhen I‘ll give it a try! I‘m no longer stubborn about needing to finish books, so I can easily bail if it‘s not working for me. 14mo
Cinfhen Yay @Bluebird I hope it grabs and holds your attention but there‘s no shame in walking away #AllHailTheBail 😁🙌🏻 14mo
DrexEdit I've started reading the Steinbeck book you sent me @Soubhiville. Steinbeck is a little old-fashioned in his gender views, but otherwise the book is so far delightful! 14mo
LibrarianRyan another month bites the dust., 14mo

Repost for @Soubhiville
Happy February! Time to pull out our Taylor Jenkins Reid books for #AuthorAMonth.

#AuthorAMonth is a no-pressure, no-commitment Litsy challenge. The goal is to celebrate the works of a particular author each month. Authors were chosen through polls by Litsy participants. Read as many as you like, skip months when needed, it's entirely up to you!
